Again this is based on what I have seen in 4 weeks and gives no bearing to the National Pools.
1. Oklahoma
2. Southern Cal (the reason for the drop is I now see 4 or 5 teams in the SEC who could have beaten UVA and Ohio St just as bad)
3. Florida
4. Georgia
5. LSU (I give GA the nod over LSU because I think Auburn although good, is not great because of their offense)
6. ALABAMA - Young, inexperienced but extremely confident and very hard to run on.
I suspect the AP Poll will have them 2, 1, 4, 3, 6, and my Tide passes Wisconsin to move up to #8.
Its a shame that the SEC is so good, we have no choice but beat up on each other the next 5 or 6 weeks while watching Southern Cal play Stanford and Oklahoma go up against the Iowa St's.
P.S. In looking at my Top 5, I say the National Pools have no bearing but in all honesty, I would take Florida over Southern Cal or LSU over Oklahoma any day of the week. The SEC defenses are downright vicious.
It would take a hell of a lot of points for me to take Ohio St over Southern Cal. Ohio St looked like a very good college football team today, USC looked like an average NFL team.
Georgia shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath with those two teams.
Week 1 Top 5
1 Southern Cal
2 Florida
3 LSU
4 Ohio St
5 Alabama
