So I just recently received some money from a Trust Fund that was set up for me when my mother passed away several years back. It was about $20,000 that I received.
I put $10,000 in my checking account (just so I would have it there to pay off any bills that were outstanding and such) and $10,000 into my savings account.
What I'm wondering is if anyone out there has any advice as to whether I should put it into a short term CD, let it sit in savings, or maybe invest in some small stocks and see if I can double it short term.
Yes I know this is a gambling site, and I know I can put it towards the upcoming NFL season...that however is not an option at this point. I have my gambling millions already set aside.
A co-worker of mine put $1000 into 5 separate stocks that were currently trading for less than $5 each...but had at one point in their life been up around $20-25...is there anyone out there that has tried something like this? What would be the best way to approach such a thing?
Once again....all opinions will be welcome, and this is a serious question, so lets try and limit the hookers and gambling suggestions.
When was the last time you had EVERY top team improve and make a big time signing? Looking back at most of the recent champions...they didn't make any major moves during the offseasons and basically just added a few bench and role players to help out and fill in any voids. This offseason has been the complete opposite of that
Lakers ----- Ron Artest
Magic ------ Vince Carter
Cavs ------- Shaquille O'Neal
Celtics ------ Rasheed Wallace
Simply amazing. I love it.
It will be the worst decision in Danny Ainge's career. He is a future all-star at the point guard position and showed this season that he has the ability to completely take over a game. You can honestly say he is one of the best five point guards in the game today just about.
The bigger question is....
WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU GONNA GET TO REPLACE HIM?
He's a big man that has no idea how to use his talent, and it's sad. He has by far the most potential out of anyone in the league, however he has no idea how to play offense. His defense isn't much, he can just jump through the building. Not that he's in the right position all the time, he just is taller and can jump higher. On offense, about 80% of his points come on dunks, or easy set up passes.
I would take quite a few others over him right now to start a team.

PARLAY RECORD: 1-1 (+1.30 UNITS)
================================================
NC STATE +11 (-110)
Main reason is the Thursday night home underdog theory, also Florida State has really struggled going to NC State the past couple of visits, and there always seems to be a couple of game in the middle of the season (especially when the Noles are on a decent start) where they choke and blow a big bowl game. This is one of them.
Prediction: NC State 23 Florida State 16
