As I love do love baseball as much as anyone..I don't bet it. I mean the rare play here and there but nothing serious. Every year i look forward to the first week of college football if not for anything just to get my sportsbook fired up again. While there is a full slate of games for this saturday, not too many games stood out at me except for this one. Here we go....
UConn @ Michigan (-2.5)
I'm a little annoyed with myself for not putting this play in earlier. The line opened with the Wolverines as a 3 point favorite. Now it has gone down a half a point as the money seems to be coming in on the Huskies,as it should be. UConn has covered their last 7 opening lined games and was 6-0 ATS last season an underdog! The Huskies could have easily finished with double digit wins last season. They lost a total of 5 games by a combined total of 15 points. UConn is also a money making 41-23 ATS in non-conference games the last 11 seasons. I don't like Michigan at all this season. Outside of Tate Forcier I really see this team struggling again this year and Mr Rodriguez will be out of a job.
PLAY ON UCONN+2.5
good luck everyone..remember its a long season
Troy(-7) @ Bowling Green
I realize that Troy is the class of the Sunbelt Conference and will probably get their second conference title in as many years, but laying a touchdown on the road? The linesmakers are clearly going off last season with this spread. But Bowling Green has experience at the most important position on the field and that is the quarterback. Tyler Sheehan a 3rd team MAC selection the last 2 seasons. He has thrown for close to 6000 yards and 43 td's in those last 2 seasons. Also the Trojans are 1-4 ats as non conference favs plus are 2-6 straight up in their 8 road openers. This one stays close all the way. Take the points and the Falcons.
Tonight the White Sox and Twins start a 3 game series in Minnesota as both teams battle in the tight AL Central race. The pitching match up is Danks vs Perkins. The total is at 9. I LOVE the OVER in this one. The Twins line up has hit Danks well in the past with 5 players hitting .400 or better!! Now you might say well if they hit Danks so well then why not a ML play on the Twins? While I do believe that the Twins offense will be thriving in this game. I don't have too much faith in Perkins. In his two starts this season versus Chicago the Twins are 1-1 with both games going OVER the posted total. And if you look at the last 3 seasons of games in the Twin Cities the total is 20-10-1 in 31 games. I'm going to lay a little more juice here and side with the OVER.
PLAY OVER 9 -120
Astro's/Padres tonight..total is 8. These two teams over the last 3 seasons at games played at Petco Park are 1-10 in Over/Unders. Thats a 90.9% clip. I was on the Under last night..lets do it again tonight.
ASTRO'S/ PADRES UNDER 8
