Florida Marlins @ NY Mets
Game time: 4:10
We have two pitchers that are low to mid 4 in ERA and face off during a
day game in NY. The Mets will have 5 hitters in the lineup that will
have hit Robertson well in the past batting over .333, while Niese has
a 5.63 ERA vs the Marlins. The Marlins hit lefties much better and are
13-6 against them this season. As a split, the Marlins .280 vs lefties,
and last 7 days are hitting .287. The Marlins will have the lineup
loaded with righties today. As I was on the Marlins yesterday and took
the loss, I'll most likely be on them again, however, My bigger play
will be the over. Niese has only worked into 7th 1 time out of last 7
stars, Robertson has been much better working at least 6 3 out of last
7. I expect some firepower early and often. I see a 7-5 type of game
with the Marlins winning this one.
Weather: 10-14 mph out to center
Umpire: averages 9.8 rpg
Rodriguez has thrown 97 pitches in last 4 days. Is today a day off? Both teams are average vs bullpens.
PLAY: Florida Marlins-Medium OVER 9.5 Large
Chicago Cubs @ Houston Astros
Game time: 7:05
The Cubs counter Dempster with Houston's Oswalt tonight at Minute maid
park. Oswalt hasn't been too happy with his current club, however
Oswalt's Astros are playing well and when they are playing well, I look
for Roy to get his W's. He's had some success vs the Cubs holding them
to a 2.51 ERA and holding Soriano .238, Lee .262, and Ramirez .229 to
weak numbers throughout their careers. This is the heart of the order.
On the other hand it seems that Lee and Berkman are starting to pick it
up as the team is hitting .281 over last 7 days raising their dreadful
average. Big Puma is batting .370 Last 7 and .326 Last 14. I can't see
anyone else that is more valuable to their team's offense than Berkman.
As he goes so doesn't the offense and Astros. At a price of 110 at home
with Puma hitting and Oswalt giving max effort for possible trade
offers and wins maybe down the road. Dempster on the other hand has had
limited success record wise vs. Houston however, Keppinger .476, Bourn
.353, Blum .294, Lee .296, Pence .346 and Puma swinging the stick will
give an opportunity for the Stros to score runs. Chicago are a measly
10-17 on road so far and come in on a four game losing streak, let's
make it 5. I think it'll be one of my Larger plays of the year.
