I am going to go with Utah + 81/2 over USC. South Carolina - 3 over Georgia Purdue -1 over Rice Colorado + 61/2 over California.
UNLV @ Wisconsin - In this game it begins to become obvious to me that UNLV is a bad team as its 2-11 record indicates. And going to Madison to take on Wisconsin does not help . You are going to be laying a lot of points in this game. Wisky should cover the large number as the trends will indicate. UNLV is 0-7 ATS on the road over the past two seasons. And only 2-6 ATS in its last 8 games.And in the last 7 games vs Wisconsin, UNLV is 1-6 SU. Also 1-11 ATS in lined games over the past 3 years. THE PICK- WISCONSIN. Mississippi St @ Memphis - On paper this game looks to be a rout in favor of Mississippi St as the line indicates. Memphis won only one game last year tells you something. The trends in this game are lopsided in favor of Mississippi St. Memphis is 6-12 ATS in the last 12 games overall . And, 0-5 ATS vs Mississippi St. I feel that the line in this game is right on the money and there is no reason at all not to believe that this game will not be a blowout . THE PICK_MISSISSIPPI STATE. Kentucky @ Western Kentucky - There is no reason to believe that Kentucky will not win this game. I feel that they will cover because Kentucky is 12-4-1 ATS in the last 17 non-conference games. And playing a team that lost a lot of games last year. There is only one way to go in this game and that is with the cats. THE PICK -KENTUCKY.Utah St @ Auburn - In looking at this game there is no doubt in my mind that Auburn will win and cover in this game. There is not a lot to say about this game. THE PICK - AUBURN. Tulsa @ Oklahoma - Oklahoma appears to be one of the teams to be in the race for the BCS national title.And going against Tulsa who has covered only two of its last 9 games vs Big 12 teams. Tulsa will be no match for OU. Troy @ Clemson - It is obvious this Clemson should win this game . Will they cover? Clemson is 2-6 ATS in the last 8 home games, And 2-5 ATS in the last 7 non -conference games. THE PICK- TROY. Kent St @ Alabama - This looks to be an easy win for Alabama. The tide is 6-0 ATS in the last 6 non-conference games.I cannot see how Kent St can stay close in this game. THE PICK - ALABAMA. San Jose St @ Stanford - This game will be no contest as Stanford will roll all over San Jose St. I know that this will be a lot of points to cover. However, San Jose St has only covered in 7 of its last 30 games. And 3-12 ATS in its last 15 road games. This is a mismatch if I have ever seen one. THE PICK - STANFORD.
There are a few games that I do like in week 1 of the college football season. On opening night on September 1, I am going to go with Mississippi State to win big over Memphis. Right now the line is Mississippi State -28. I feel that this line is right on the money and if this line holds this should be an outstanding play. Also on this same night there is UNLV @ Wisconsin. When we take a good look at this game one thing stands out in my mind and that is Wisconsin should blow out UNLV. However, There is one thing to keep in mind is that the line at this time stands at Wisconsin -35 and we are three weeks away.With this amount of time left the line could grow up to -40. I am not saying that the line is going to go up to -40. There is a very good chance that it could. And if this happens you must think very hard about passing on this game. And the reason is that when you have a line that high. The chance of a Back- Door cover becomes greater. On Saturday, Akron visits Ohio State . The line on this game is now at Ohio State -321/2. With Ohio State and all of its off the problems and with a new coach. There is no way to tell how to Buckeyes are going to play and with the line right now at Ohio State - 321/2. The possibility is there for the line to go up to Ohio State -40. This may a difficult line and there could be a very good chance for Akron to cover this number and so be very careful with this game.Stanford opens at home with San Jose State. The current line on this game is Stanford - 261/2. I feel that in this spot the line looks really good as long as it does not go over 35 pts. If this line stays as is right now. I do feel that we will have another outstanding play to say the very least. To wrap it up I like Auburn -22 over Utah State. I am hoping that the line in this game does not go over Auburn -30.
