I realize that this is probably a dated topic, as I am not able to log on as often as I would like to explore this great site, but WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BABE OF THE DAY????
I'm guessing that it has something to do with people complaining about the nature of the section, and it's content.... but remember that there are also men who use this site.
To say that the babe of the day is sexist, is not only wrong, but a mis-informed shamefull statement. The only people who seem to have a problem with materials of that manner are OTHER WOMEN WHO DO NOT LOOK LIKE THAT. While I will agree that there will be the odd male who will say that they do not agree with it (probably because they are told to think that by their partners), most men welcome the idea of a good looking woman, who takes care of herself, showing off what she worked hard for. These are not naked pictures (which women have the right to take if they would like), they are simply women in bathing suites, and poorly taken 'model' shots. If women want to fight sexism, the shame of these individuals should be put to rest, and the woman's body (as well as man, all human) should embrace what we have evolved into, and not hide and feel shame for what we are. Remember that the next time you look at your 'firefighters' calendar, listen to Usher, or watch anything that involves 'The Rock'.. as hypocrites do not survive in our society.
In addition, the women who appear in these photo shoots have obviously come to terms with their decision, or they would choose NOT TO HAVE THE PHOTOS TAKEN. Who has the right to disagree with these pictures if you are not the one involved? You have the option NOT TO OPEN THE LINK AND LOOK AT THEM, but no. Other people's morals has to be forced and pushed on everyone else because some harmless behaviour upsets your personal image.
Barring anything illegal, I push for Covers.com to reinstate the Babe of the Day. There is no reason that the section should ever have been removed, in fact, I suggest a dual babe of the day, with voting going towards one or the other, as opposed to just the looks of one. This will eliminate the shameful acts of some people voting a low score for the better looking women.
Stand up for yourselves cover experts, what will they talke next? the $100,000 survivor because someone has a problem with gambling??
