52-40 ytd
PITTSBURGH -9 1/2 (hook)
Possibly the blowout of the day here imo as Pitt looks to redeem after that ass beating they received from the Bengals last week.KC is so outmatched on both sides of the ball here I can't believe the line is less than two TD's. KC has been a money burning prop at home covering just 4 of their last 17 tries and I think Pitt can name the score in this one.
NY GIANTS -6 1/2 (hook)
The Falcons couldn't stay within a TD of the suck ass Panthers, so why would I think they could against the GMen? I know the GMen have struggled as of late but their bye week couldn't have come at a better time as they have lost 4 straight su and ats. I reckon Coach has got their attention now and we should see the real Giants emerge here. I also look for the Birds to struggle scoring the football as they lost Turner in last weeks game and that nasty NY defense should be able to harrass young QB Ryan in this one. Lets go GMen ....are you contenders or pretenders?
TAMPA BAY +11
I Know...Its ugly but the fact of the matter is that the Aints just don't get up when playing the leagues bottom feeders as evidenced by their lack luster performance last week and the week before for that matter.I won again with Tampa last week and I think I'm going to stay on this bandwagon for another day as new QB Freeman is now 2-0 ats as a starter. Need some supporting numbers? How bout the Aints having only one cover in their last 15 attempts as a division favorite of 7 or more. With rumblings of Reggie Bush sitting this one out I may have to consider a ML play on this one as well.
BOL Fellas!
May have a total or two later.
5-1 LAST 6
Tonight:
OHIO + 1 1/2
Strong lean with overs but not an official play.
BOL Fellas!
8-2 ats last week
TENNESSEE TITANS +2
Lots of love for the Fly Boys as they are now 2-0 to start the season while Tenny has struggled to a 0-2 start. Time out though. The new Fly Boys QB is about to face one of the best defenses in football although they didn't play like it last week. Fisher's boys usually respond well after a home loss as they have regained their focus covering 5 of the last 6 after losing at home. Also like the fact that the dog has covered 5 straight in this series winning 4 of them straight up.
NY GIANTS -6 1/2
The Giants are on the road. Need I say more? Well ok if you insist. The Gmen are a stellar 16-2 ats in their last 18 road games. That includes a perfect 9-0 ats record as an away favorite.Tampa ampa Bay can't get out of their own way as they are 0-5 ats in their last 5 ball games and I don't see it getting any easier for Byron and the boys going up against Big Blues stingy Defense.
GREEN BAY - 6 1/2
Another road favorite for me here but a good value play imo as I watched Cincinnati pull the upset and bring in the cash for me last week against these same Packers. McCarthy's boys will be re focused here as he faces the poor pitiful Rams who have lost the money 36 of the last 50 chances at home against NFC opposition.Green Bay usually relishes the away favorite role as they have won and covered 8 of their last 10 chances.
Pittsburgh -3 (hook)
Pittsburgh sputtered down the stretch last week costing me as they were one of my two losers. This week however they get to play a team that they always beat up on.Pitt has won and covered 8 in a row here and may very well have the home field advantage in this one. Look for that steel curtain D to rattle Palmer and the Bungholes and squeak out the ats victory for us..
BOL Fellas!
Will prob add some later.
All right fellas, Its finaly time to kick off the 09 CFB season. I had a great season last year going 75-44 ats including a 18-5 run when it counted the most during Bowl season. As any good handicapper knows the key to success in CFB is to be disciplined. You can't bet every game on the board every weekend and expect to turn a profit. What I like to do is narrow the board down each week to ten games or so that catch my eye and then dig in, do my homework and bet the best ones of the ten. Sometimes its only two or three and sometimes its eight or nine. One rule that you should gamble by is to never press when things aren't going your way. Instead of pressing , reduce your wagers until you get the feel back and things start to turn your way. The CFB season is a long one so manage your money wisely and buckle in for the long haul. There are several good cappers right here on covers so hopefully we will all be able to make a little cashola this season. On to Thursday Night:
SOUTH CAROLINA +6 (hook)
This line currently sits at 5 1/2 at BetEd but will most likely be up to 6 by gametime eliminating the need for the hook. Although I'm in the minority, I think there is just to much value here to pass on. The oddsmakers opened this game at 3 and have steadily been pounded with Wolfpack money.I do realize that SC killed the Pack last year and there is a big revenge factor. I also realize that the Pack ended the season last year on a 7-0 ats run. That run however was all done as the underdog. In not one of those games were the Pack favored. In fact if you go back to the last 4 non conf opponents in which the Wolfpack were installed as a 5 point or less favorite they are 0-4 ats. The Ol ball coach will have the better defense in this one and should be able to keep it close enough for the cover imo. I'll gladly take the generous 6 spot and saddle up with a coach that has won 16 straight opening day contest.
NORTH TEXAS +17
Lots of value here imo as Ball St comes in with a new QB ,a new head coach and 4 new offensive linemen. Thats alot of new on offense for me to be laying 17 points. North Texas on the other hand, comes back this season with 16 returning starters and probably the better offense in this one as they produced over 4,000 yards of offense last season. Granted NT is starting a new QB as well but he is the Head Coach's son and should know the system as well as anyone. Bottom line here for me is just way to many if's on offense to be laying this kind of wood.
BOL Fellas!
Whats up fellas? Slowly counting down the days until we get rolling with the best sport in America....College Football!! In doing so I have noticed that the OSU Cowboys seem to be getting overlooked. This team is a definate dark horse to win the 09 Big 12 championship imo. With OU and Texas both obvious favorites at around 2-1,OSU seems like a steal at 11-1. They get Texas at home and will have a legitamite chance to beat the Horns, but they go to Norman to play the Sooners which will be tough, but it is Bedlahm and anything can happen in that game. I don't see anyone from the North winning it but I do think Kansas will get by the Huskers and represent the North in the championship game. As far as OSU is concerned they were ranked in the top 10 last yr in total yards, rushing and points scored. Granted they have little defense but if you score like they do then you are never out of it. QB Zach Robinson returns and should have some big numbers putting it up to what may be one of the best WR's in football this yr with Desmond Bryant.....he is the real deal and you will be hearing lots about him this season. I am definately not a Cowboy homer in fact I don't even like them but at 11-1 I think they may be worth a shot as there is no value whatsoever with OU and Texas.
