Pitt pick over Baltimore
- Baltimore has issues on their offensive line and Pitt's receiving corps has looked explosive in the preseason. Baltimore did get Lee Evans, but Flacco lost two security blankets in Heap and Mason and that won't bode well for them against Pitt's D in week 1.
Buffalo +5 over KC
- I like Buffalo's D this season. Williams and Dareus on the D-line and secondary now healthy is solid. I'm a big fan of Fitzpatrick and I think he makes the difference against a KC team that has trouble passing the ball.
Houston -9 over Indy
- Houston won't take pity on the Colts, who go from a very good team to a very bad one without Peyton.
Philly -4.5 over St. Louis
- Not sure St. Louis' D has the horses to stop Vick and DJack. Don't see their receivers getting open down the field, which should allow Philly to contain them on D. Don't see how they stay in the game, although many are calling for an upset. I just don't see it.
Ten pick over Jax
Like Hasselbeck and the Titans to win their division this year. Jax is not a very good team at all.
San Diego -8.5 over Minny
McNabb is terrible. I don't see SD taking any chances of having a poor start to the season. Rivers will keep the Vikings at arm's length.
SD/Minny over 42.5
See the Chargers putting up a lot of points and AP will run hard and score a few TD. This number seems too low.
Washington +3 over Ny Giants
Like the Redskins as a sleeper this year. Giants have a handful of key injuries on defence and the Redskins have a very solid D. That should be the difference here.
Seattle +5.5 over SF
- Seattle has the far superior team IMO besides Tarvaris of course, but is Alex Smith really that much better? Seahawks should be able to stay in the game.
Dallas/Jets over 41
- Both teams should have 20+ here. Both teams have dangerous threats on offence. This number is too low.
New England -7 over Miami
- New England will roll over Miami...35-10 is my prediction.
Denver -3 over Oakland
- Broncos simply a better team and at Mile High. They get Dumervil back and Von Miller is a beast. As long as they can slow down McFadden a bit and give Orton some time (which I think they can), they should win this game.
GL All
This is interesting to me.
New Orleans played and beat Seattle in New Orleans 34-19 on November 21 and here were the statistics from this game:
Hasselbeck 32/44 for 366 yards, 1 td and 0 interceptions
Brees 29/43 for 382, 4 tds and 2 interceptions
First downs: Saints 26, Seahawks 21
Rushing Yards: Saints 112, Seahawks 58
Passing yards: Saints 382, Seahawks 366
Penalties: Seahawks 8 for 79 yards; Saints 3 for 24 yards
Neither team allowed a sack.
Marshawn Lynch fumbled the ball over to the Saints twice.
Judging from the numbers this game could have been much closer and if Seattle cleans up some of the penalties and Lynch doesn't fumble twice, then Seattle could find itself right in the game.
Seahawks are tougher at home and have no pressure to win this game, while the weight of the world is on Brees and the Saints shoulders just to not choke.
Another point is that the Saints are missing both Chris Ivory and Pierre Thomas, meaning they do not have a RB capable of getting a tough yard.
All this being said, I'm on the fence as to which side to go on for now, but would like to hear some thoughts with regards to these points if anyone has anything to say!
Thanks for reading my rant!
Just some thoughts on this game.
With the Kings winning a couple of games lately and the Nuggets having been terrible on the road all year, it would seem as if this would be a good time to step in and take the Kings and the points at home being on National TV and all.
However, the Nuggets have a ton more talent and if they come to play tonight, they could blowout Sacramento. I believe that last time they played on a TNT Thursday, they had a really tough loss against SA and might be really up for this game.
Maybe I'm a complete fool though.
Let me know what you guys think.
Hey Guys,
Thinking of taking the over 45 tonight, but very concerned about the weather. Is it going to be impossible to pass? Maybe someone living in the Foxborough area can help me out here. I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!
