I haven't been on Covers in quite some time now due to my loyalty to my regular sports handicapping forum. Some of you may remember me and some may not but I am mostly known for CBB and NFL. I have an NFL Game of the Year going this Sunday. I rarely post games like this because it usually gets the bottom feeders to post rude or obnoxious things. I am going to make the post and return on Sunday to read the comments. Best of luck to all who view and possibly play!
Buffalo Bills vs Jacksonville Jaguars 1:00pm EST
First off, Buffalo has fired their head coach and replaced him with their current defensive coordinator. You are telling me that Buffalo's already awful defense is going to be coached by a man who just assumed a lot more responsibilities other than the Defenseive Coordinator position?? The Jaguars come into town with the 6th best rushing attack in the NFL, averaging 140 yards per game. The Buffalo Bills rank 26th overall in the NFL in total defense. That ranking is thanks to their league worst 32nd ranked rush defense. Teams are averaging an astonishing 173 yards per game on the ground against the Bills. Did anyone happen to see what Chris Johnson did against the Bills last week? Both the Titans and Jags have mediocre passing games. I would have to credit the Jags passing game as a bit better than the Titans.Sims-Walker is a far better receiver than anyone on the Bills roster. The Jags are able to hold possession longer due to their successful ground attack. Maurice Jones Drew is a "bowling ball" for a running back. The Bills defensive lineman are almost the same size as MJD. He's going to have a career day at home on Sunday. Trent Edwards coming back is not the solution in Buffalo. This team needs to rebuild and dump guys like T.O. and Marshawn Lynch. Jacksonville is trying to keep their team in Jacksonville and what a better way to prove it than blowing out the Bills.
My play as Week 11 GOY: Jacksonville Jaguars -9
VILLANOVA WILDCATS (ml) vs Pittsburgh Panthers
*** Largest play of the NCAA season***
Forget the points, unless you're worried......Too be completely honest, this game shouldn't even be close. The guard play from either team is more mismatched than the average fan would ever image. Everybody says that good guard play is what makes team's successful in the NCAA Tournament. If Fisher can continue to improve at point guard and allow Reynolds to move off the ball, those two combined with the depth behind forms a likely Big East contender. Reynolds, Fisher, and Cunningham might be playing their best basketball of the season while Pitt comes in struggling in their previous matchups. I don't like the tentative play from Young and Fields thus far, someone has to step up. Nova is a great ball screening team and can balance the interior with spread perimeter offense. The back door advantage and interior play has to favor Nova because Pitt's big men will be forced to defend away from the basket. Fields has made one critical bucket the entire tournament while watching Blair clean up the mess. That won't happen tonight because Villanova has the speed and the height to competitively match up with Pitt. I liked this match up from the beginning and it's a great draw for Villanova who hasn't done much of any travelling this tournament. After failing to cover 3 stright spreads this season, the Wildcats proceeded to go on an 8 game winning streak ATS. I look for that trend to continue with one in the bag already against Duke. With the side betting at 50% and the publics money on Nova by 77%, I'd have to say my pick makes me very confident. The smart money is on the Wildcats tonight everyone! Best of luck!
