Congrats to Michigan, whose front seven punched the Gators right in the mouf. The UM playmakers were also great. I, of course, bet on Florida. But at least I got the over.
Congrats as well to the Sidney Crosby for winning the Winter Classic and to Sam Roberts for playing a mini-concert during the second intermission in garb best-suited for shovelling one's driveway.
I agree with CBC's suggestion that the NHL All-Star Game should be played outdoors, and not a game that means something in the standings. The ASG is already non-hitting pond hockey, so at least the outdoor setting would make it aesthetically pleasing. And frankly, today's game in Buffalo was unrecognizable as NHL hockey.

College football season is coming to a close and I'm going out with a bang. Watching Washington-Hawaii on Saturday night / Sunday morning, even if it takes a bagful of trucker speed to get me through.
I was hoping for a better late game on HNIC with which I could toggle the football game, but I guess Columbus-Calgary will have to do.
If The Score was carrying a Chelsea game on Sunday morning I'd consider making it an all-nighter, but as it's only Tottenham-Birmingham, I may have to devote Sunday to Christmas shopping.
Does gambling advice qualify as a gift?

Lovely 24-hour span Chelsea is thumping Rosenborg less than a day after the Habs beat the Leafs. Now if the Raptors could develop some consistency, we'd really be cooking with gas.
In another positive development, I looked over MLB's list of Hall of Fame-eligible players for 2008 and like Andre Dawson's chances. Big Mac's reputation hasn't improved and there are no outstanding new candidates beyond Timmy Raines (unless I scanned over the list too quickly). Bert Blylevin should get in at some point, as should Goose Gossage. But we'll see what happens. Bad decisions have been made before (honestly, Bruce Sutter?), so I won't hold my breath.
And to keep going with the cycle of sports nerdiness, I have to admit that I get excited with each bowl game commitment. Yes, I recognize that bowl games are little more than a cash grab, but the news that USF is playing the Sun Bowl already has me a little bit pumped for Dec. 31. Well, that plus getting hammered that night.
