I play about 95% 2H's. However, see enough edges to play the Dolphins tonight.
1) Miami holds LARGE edges in special teams. In a game perceived to be close, Miami is far superior in all phases except punt returns.
2) Not sure injuries to LT Gross and nagging injuries to Panther skill players won't hurt Carolina more. Gross protects Delhomme's blind side and Jake has been known to commit a crucial TO ...believe that loss of RB Brown will be easier to overcome by a diverse Fish O....
3) Miami Pass D is rated very low. However, they have had to deal with Ryan, Rivers, Brees, Brady, and Manning!
Miami +...also, going to play a little on the ML
BOLTA
Yeah, right! No such thing....I just want people to read my opinion on this game.
Baylor 34 Connecticut 10
First, lets give Baylor some credit for beating WF on the road. They held off a furious Wake rally to hang on.WF is a notoriously good 2H team (ask Stanford). This team is making great strides, they lost at home to WF by 4TDs LY
On to the UConn Game.....
Baylor has a HUGE edge in athletes! One Conn. defender called Griffin the fastest player he has ever played against. U Conn lost 2 #2 DC's on D from last year and didn't match up well with Frosh Griffen then.
Another matchup I really like is 6'4" track member WR Gettis (caught 5 vs.WF) against small, inexperienced Conn DBs.....
QB Frazer out for UConn. Backup QB for a team that doesn't throw the ball well anyway. Edsall is an excellent coach, UConn has simply lost too much talent for that program to immediately excel.
UConn must regroup quickly from tough loss to UNC. They blew a 10-0 4Q lead and now get to travel to Waco to play a 4PM local time game. Expect UConn to wilt in the TX heat after chasing Griffin all day....
Oddsmakers don't miss much. There is a reason Baylor is laying DD's Good luck!
Seems the general consensus is for Connecticut to finish around .500....
I am having a real hard time seeing that.
Let me give you a closer take...
LY, this team had a terrible passing attack. (5 TD passes in 329 att.) This year,
they lose RB Brown (#1 DC) 2-yr. starting C, and a #2DC LT. Ouch!
On D, their DT's are light and inexperienced, both soph's. They lose a #2 DC DE, and their best CB (#2 DC). The two CB's are 5'9". In addition, this team isn't exactly known for having great athletes.
Imagine the difficulty they are going to have with Baylor on Sept. 19th! Tall WR's and that elusive QB Griffin. Appears to me like a MAJOR DROPOFF in Storrs, Ct.
What do you see?
