Sacramento +10

This looks like a steal to me, the Kings played well in that first half but couldn't hang on for the cover. They are on the front end of a back to back to close out a long road trip, and are prime to play their best basketball. They will give an Orlando team that has not been that impressive this season giving up a large number. Possible Upset straight up??? Then look for Kings to get destroy the next night in Miami if they do.

WESTERN CONFERENCE PLAYOFF RACE

The Utah Jazz face the San Antonio Spurs tonight on ESPN. The Jazz are currently 23-18, and if the playoffs started today, they would be out. They need to play well tonight, and against a team they dominated this season, they should play well. Look for Utah to get back into the playoff race, I expect Utah and OKC to make the playoffs this season. I don't see enough firepower on the Rockets to sustain their level of play throughout the whole season. With Memphis, they sorely lack a point guard, which makes me wonder why they didn't take Tyreke Evans. Memphis had a above average center in Marc Gasol, but they had a below average point guard in Conely. Imagine Evans with this Memphis team, they would've certainly made the playoffs this season, that would've been a scary team.

Team at home after a long road trip situation

Both games fall upon the the same situation tonight. Both visiting teams are playing real well at the moment and are finally at full strength. Will take both road dogs tonight. Goodluck....

TORONTO ON FIRE

Raptors have been on fire lately, playing with a lot of confidence. Cleveland coming home from a long 7 game road trip, will come out slow. Calderon is a fresh new man playing with lots of fire lately, look for Raptors to be up at the half possibly.

OVER, in the past 10 games, Cel's total has been over 200 twice, at Denver 202, went under; and at GSW 213.5, went over.

CHICAGO BULLS road trip

The Chicago Bulls lost to the Warriors tonight to open their 7 game road trip. To lose against this Warriors team tonight shows the Bulls lack a leader. The Warriors had a team with 3 players from the NBA's DLeague playing on the court at the same time!!! They will be fade material this coming road trip, starting off Friday Jan 22 @ Phoenix, if PHO is -8 or less, they will be a play. Bulls had to start this trip off with a win and they didn't, don't see much easier ahead for this team.

MLK NBA Observations

There have many surprises this season, but the most pleasant to witness has to be the success of the OKC Thunder. They have situated themselves in prime playoff contention behind the leadership of all-star Kevin Durant. They begin  a tough 4-game road trip today at Atlanta. If they go 2-2 this road trip, they will be pleased. They are serious contenders because of tremendous defensive effort they put forth evey night. They will face another suprising team in the Memphis Grizzlies this road trip. Tonight, the Grizzs will host the Phoenix Suns, this should be a great matchup between a team struggling after starting off great, and a team trying to sneak up into the playoff race. The Grizzs are a great rebounding team, and will expose the Suns tonight for their streaky shooting and bad defense.

Don't fall for the trap...3 strong plays

HOUSTON  ML. Houston won all their games last season at home. Let's give credit to Brooks, playing like an allstar, I predicted this guy would lead his team in scoring. LA not the same without Gasol.

TORONTO -8. Detroit is a jump shooting team, they won't shoot it well tonight, and Toronto will light them up, winning by 20.

MEMPHIS +6. Memphis always beat the Warriors, they will continue that tonight. Gasol and Randolph will be too much.

8-15 RECORD

Sunday's NBA Game Breakdowns and picks

New Orleans at Boston. With the pick up of Rasheed and a full strength KG back, the Celtics remind me of when they got the big 3 for the first time, they went on an insane streak to start the season ATS. I was wrong about these Celtics, but they are looking like the best team in the NBA at the moment. The Hornets are struggling with West starting the season slow and honestly they are really lacking a true 3rd option to score the ball on offense. Look for Boston to continue shooting the ball red hot, they should put up 110 without any problems. BOSTON -11

Chicago at Miami. Jermaine O'neal looks like he's close to his allstar form to start the season. It seems the linemakers are not giving the Heat much respect to start the season. It makes sense for them to be -4.5 since they were home giving up 5 to the Knicks. The Bulls got destroyed last game at Boston, and they will show up tonight after that effort. I would lean Miami, but I think the OVER would be a stronger play here. The Heat will score over 100 easily, and since I expect the Bulls to come to play, they should score close to the mid 90s. OVER 193

Portland at Oklahoma City. The Thunder are the up and coming team at home with something to prove. Portland comes into a tough situation tonight. After playing well last night and losing, it'll be tough for Portland to play well, other than Brandon Roy, I don't expect much else from the others. This game will be big for the Thunder to prove they are going to... [More]

Brandon Jennings

This kid is the real deal, with his success, going over to Europe may be the new trend for top Hoops phenoms here in America. I predict soon kids will be going over at the age of 16 to get paid and learn the game. Jennings is a superstar, he will carry this team to wins with his will and play. He had a 5 mins stretch in that Detroit game last night that I haven't seen in a long time.

Saturday Oct 31st NBA Best Bets

Got 5 strong plays tonight...Goodluck all

New Jersey Nets at Washington Wizards. If the Wizs hope to be a true playoff contending team they must take care of business tonight. No one has been really stepping up for the Nets during the cruical stages of the 4th quarter in games so far this season. The Wizards were beat up by a more physical team last night, and at home, Arenas should play a lot better. I expect Washington to win by atleast 10 points here. They should score around the low 100s, with the Nets somewhere around the low 90s. WASHINGTON -7.5

Charlotte Bobcats at Cleveland Cavaliers. This is a tough play with the line being so high. The Bobcats played at two best teams in the Eastern Conference and didn't give up over 100 points. In fact, last season the Bobcats rarely surrender over 100 points in the 2nd games of their back to backs. I don't see the Cavs getting beyond 100 tonight. The Bobcats have also been struggling on offense as well, they will probably struggle to get into the mid 80s. This total has gotten so low, it may be tough to play.

Philadelphia 76ers at New York Knicks. The Knicks make it home, and back to their entertaining sytle of ball. Philly comes in after beating the Bucks at home, and they will not play defense tonight, expect this one to be an up and down game. This total is pretty low to me, I think it should be around 210. I'm not worried about the Knicks playing a double overtime game last night, they are professio... [More]

Friday's best plays

Miami at Indy. I like the Pacers here at home, they are a playoff contending team this season, and should start the season off right at home cover the 2 points easily.

INDY -2

Milwaukee at Philly. The bucks are going be a defensive minded team this season. The 76ers play better defense at home. This total seems a little to high to me.

Mil/Phi UNDER 195

NY Knicks at Charlotte. I like the under here, if the Knicks couldn't score 100 on Miami, they won't put up 100 on the Bobcats at home, who are a tougher defensive team. They are also struggling on offense which leads me to like the Under in this game.

Nyk/Cha UNDER 195.5

Currently posted record is 2-7. Feeling good about going 3-0 tonight, and gettin that record back up. Goodluck all!!!

Wednesday's NBA best 3 plays with writeups

0-3 Season

I actually had Portland at -8.5, and did end up playing the Clippers, which I was leaning on in my post. Tonight we will win with 3 very strong plays.

New York at Miami. The Knicks always play Miami tough, the Heat haven't really improved their roster much this off-season. They are expecting Beasley to improve, but he had such a troubling off-season, it's tough to expect him to be that much better. The Knicks on the other hand are a very solid team. I would not be surpise if they win outright. Lee will be tough to contain, and Harrington always starts the season off well.

NEW YORK +6

Detroit Pistons at Memphis. The Pistons are no longer a superior defensive team. They do have a lot of firepower off the bench in Gordon and Will Bynum, and should light it up tonight. Memphis has a pretty solid big 3 in Gay, Mayo and Zach Randolph. They have never really been defensive players, I expect this game to go over the total pretty easily with it set so low.

OVER 191

Houston at Golden State. Warriors still play fast and very little defense. With Curry in the starting lineup, expect Houston to explode on offense after being shut down last night by a great defensive team in Portland. Houston will employ thier new uptempo offense with more success tonight. However, you can't fight fire with fire, or you'll get burned. Houston will have a hard time keeping up with a team that specializes in running up and down the court, they w... [More]

NBA Opening Night Oct 27

Back to my specialty, I am an absoulte basketball junkie. Here are my anaylsis on three of my favorite plays. Goodluck to all this season

Boston at Cleveland. Cavs simply had the best home record last season, and with such a low line, I'll take my chances with Cleveland. It will be interesting to see how King James improves and what he adds to his arsenal for this upcoming season. With the new additions, this Cavs team is much deeper. Boston is a team on the decline, the only Celtic that is on the rise is refusing to sign a contract extension with the team, and that is Rondo. The Big 3 are pass their prime, their best basketball have passed.

CLEVELAND -4.5

Washington at Dallas. Dallas will be very explosive this year, with Marion running the wing, Kidd will rack up the assist with Marion running the court, and Dirk and Jet spotting up for 3. Washington is getting Arenas back, but is losing their rock-solid vetern, in Jamison. Arenas will take a couple games to get back to game speed, it is almost impossible to simulate real game speed in preseason and practices. Dallas will be without Howard, but that mean the Jet will get more mins and he shoots lights out at home.

DALLAS -8

Houston at Portland. There is no team more focused and vengeful tonight than the Portland Trailblazers. They cannot wait to welcome the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season in blowout fashion. Oden will be an absolute mons... [More]

SUNDAY EARLY GAMES w/write ups...Start it off right...

Washington comes in with the 12th ranked defense in the league, and Caronlina has the 23rd. Washington's weak opponents may skew this number a little. Washington has always collected overpaid spolied athletes. Carolina has the talent, and will be hungry this Sunday after getting embarrassed by Dallas in the 2nd half. The Skins avg only 13 pts on offense against ST. Louis, Detroit, and Tampa, thats pretty damn sorry. I see Carolina exploding on offense today, and win by atleast 10 points. CARONLIA -5   Cleveland at Buffalo. Both teams are ranked towards the bottom when it comes to defense. With Marshawn coming back today, the Bills will have more balance in the backfield, with Lynch as the power running, Fred Jackson will be more effective as a change of pace back. Cleveland's offense got going last week with Anderson back at QB, he has a better feel for this offense, and should do well against Buffalo's. I see a high scoring game here, the total has a lot of value opening at 38 and will probably be around 42 at game time. OVER 42   Oakland AT GIANTS...Oakland actually has a very good passing defense, but this may be due to the fact they are always getting blown out and teams are running against them, hence their 26th ranked rushing D. As we all know, the Giants have the best defense in the league, and the Raiders are actually ranked in the middle in overall defense. Oakland has been anemic on offense (Russell sucks), and the I can't see them getting off on th... [More]
