There have many surprises this season, but the most pleasant to witness has to be the success of the OKC Thunder. They have situated themselves in prime playoff contention behind the leadership of all-star Kevin Durant. They begin  a tough 4-game road trip today at Atlanta. If they go 2-2 this road trip, they will be pleased. They are serious contenders because of tremendous defensive effort they put forth evey night. They will face another suprising team in the Memphis Grizzlies this road trip. Tonight, the Grizzs will host the Phoenix Suns, this should be a great matchup between a team struggling after starting off great, and a team trying to sneak up into the playoff race. The Grizzs are a great rebounding team, and will expose the Suns tonight for their streaky shooting and bad defense.

The Magic around this same time last season went into LA and took down the eventual NBA Champions. This season, however, with the addition of Vince Carter, the Magic have struggled to be consistent. Carter has never won in his career in the NBA, his addition to this Magic team has cause thier offense to be stagnant with Carter taking a majority of the shots. This is a problem, as supposed to last season when Hedo ran the offense and did a greater job distributing the ball since he was a far superior passer. Howard should be taking the majority of the team's shots.

The Lakers this season, have been day and night, sometimes they play amazing, and some nights they don't bring anything with them. The Lakers have a mini 4 game winning streak ATS at home, while the Magic have lost 2 straight and 5 of their last 7 road games ATS. I gotta go with the Lakers and lay the 6 points in this one, I expect Kobe to be in a sharing mood, as he will spread the ball around and have a great all around game which usually means a Lakers beat-down.
