0-3 Season

I actually had Portland at -8.5, and did end up playing the Clippers, which I was leaning on in my post. Tonight we will win with 3 very strong plays.

New York at Miami. The Knicks always play Miami tough, the Heat haven't really improved their roster much this off-season. They are expecting Beasley to improve, but he had such a troubling off-season, it's tough to expect him to be that much better. The Knicks on the other hand are a very solid team. I would not be surpise if they win outright. Lee will be tough to contain, and Harrington always starts the season off well.

NEW YORK +6

Detroit Pistons at Memphis. The Pistons are no longer a superior defensive team. They do have a lot of firepower off the bench in Gordon and Will Bynum, and should light it up tonight. Memphis has a pretty solid big 3 in Gay, Mayo and Zach Randolph. They have never really been defensive players, I expect this game to go over the total pretty easily with it set so low.

OVER 191

Houston at Golden State. Warriors still play fast and very little defense. With Curry in the starting lineup, expect Houston to explode on offense after being shut down last night by a great defensive team in Portland. Houston will employ thier new uptempo offense with more success tonight. However, you can't fight fire with fire, or you'll get burned. Houston will have a hard time keeping up with a team that specializes in running up and down the court, they will play right into the hands of the Warriors. I like the Warriors here a lot also, but I'll take the safe bet and go with the Over.

Adding

Philly at Orlando. It is still unsure how Elton Brand fits into this team's offense. Last season, he didn't mesh when Philly attempted to alter their offense to fit him in. With Louis Williams in the starting line-up, I can see this team struggling to start the season. Orlando is a complete team, their bench is super deep, and they replace Hedo with a very hungry Vince Carter who should fit in nicely. I see Orlando winning this game easily.

ORLANDO -8.5

With the line moving up so high, gotta stay away from the Under in the Memphis game.

NEW YORK +5

GOLDEN STATE OVER 214.5

ORLANDO -8.5

I like your writeups, AJK.  I'll be watching the Magic game tonight to see if they're really "all that."

ORLANDO is destroying Philly, even without Rashard Lewis.

Gonna add Golden State over Houston. I see Houston trying to run with the Warriors, and they will find out, that is a mistake. They will get run out the gym tonight. Anthony Morrow is the best player no one has heard of. He is the real deal, a star in the making.

GOLDEN STATE -6

No Oden, Howard or Bynum to alter shots on this Golden State team. This means Houston will have a chance to play through Scola (and once every other quarter, through the offensively challenged Hayes).

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't run-and-gun at all. On one hand, the Rockets may try their traditional style rather than attempt to outrun the Warriors. On the other hand, those Warriors have made [yet another] oath to play defense late this preseason. While I see no way they will keep this attitude up for the entire season, they might as well try for several games to start it.

I'm adding GSW -6 to my portfolio. Already have Under 212 in this game, for a small amount because of a poopy line.

ADDING:

PHOENIX AT LA CLIPPERS

Phoenix is flying low under the radar this season. I like thier chances to covers the 3 points tonight. Last season, they absolutely destroyed the Clippers after the coaching change, and the transformation back to their running game. I expect Telfair to get more run tonight with the way he played last night. This should make this game more uptempo. I'm might parlay this game. I expected the Lakers to struggle offensively vs the Clips with Bynum, I called him the black hole, when the ball goes in, it never comes back out, he doesn't move the ball as well as Pau does. Phoenix should roll big tonight. Don't let last night's game fool you, it is the same Clippers team.

PHOENIX -3 and OVER 217.5

FINAL CARD

ORLANDO -8.5

NY KNICKS +5

GOLDEN STATE OVER 214

GSW -6

PHO -3

PHO OVER 217.5
