Finally...The Colonial! This tournament is my favorite next to the Masters. Old school golf at it's finest baby! Colonial Country Club owns the longest run of any host course of a non-major on the PGA TOUR schedule. Only the Masters has hosted a tournament for a longer period of time.
Colonial CC is not extremly long, but it's very tight. Trees line all the fairways, there's a lot of doglegs and the wind makes it a little more difficult to navigate. Usually, morning tee times will give you an advantage because of the light winds. Colonial is a shot makers paradise. You must be able to work the ball on command and having some experience is a plus as well. Look for guys that hit a lot of fairways and greens to do well this week. Being a good putter from beyond 10 ft. won't hurt your chances either.
Another windy week means the track will have some teeth. Rounds 1 and 2 are calling for wind gust up to 30 mph. Look for guys who did well last week to perform well again this week. The Nelson and Colonial are similar as far as shot making goes.

The Tour is off to Irving for the Byron Nelson this week. The event is held in Las Colinas at the TPC Four Seasons Resort. The course is Par 70 and measures around 7,200 yds. A few years back the course was in terrible shape and the pros were threatening to never return. It has since made a complete 360 and the course is beautiful again and the pros love it. The new design has large undulating greens and the fairways are lined with trees. As always...fairways, greens and putting solid will get you a high finish this week. I think GIR's and Par 4 Scoring are very important stats to look at when capping.
It's a shotmakers course that has teeth when it's windy. Forecast calls for sustained winds up to 16 mph. Pretty much like the last three rounds of last years tournament.

The Tour heads off to New Orleans this week for the Zurich Classic. TPC Louisiana is a beast measuring a bulky 7,425 yds. when stretched out. The greens are tough and undulating, therefore, proximity to the hole is a solid stat this week.
Good luck to all!!

Off to Texas this week for the Valero Texas Open. It's played at the wonderful Norman designed Oaks Course. Hard track as far as driving accuracy and GIR's are concerned. Add in the wind that seems to always be there and it's a tough test. Players will need to be accurate off the tee and into the greens. And AS ALWAYS, putting is important!
Good Luck to all!

Small greens = a need for GIR's and scrambling (in a nutshell).

I thought this was very cool -
• After the FedEx Cup regular season ends in August 2013, the tour will take the top 75 players from the Nationwide Tour money list, along with the players who finished No. 126 through 200 on the PGA Tour money list, and have them play three tournaments. The top 50 will receive PGA Tour cards for the following season.

Off to Bay Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Arnie's Tourny is no push over. The Par 3's are tough (ranked 1st last year in birdies or better), the Par 4's are no joke either (ranked 3rd last year) and even the Par 5's are difficult for the Pro's (ranked 12th last year.) I expect the recipe for sucess to be similar to last week.
GIR's
Putting
And my personal favorite this week - Experience (no rookie in the last 3 yrs. has posted a Top 10)

Off to Innisbrook for the third tourny of the Florida swing. The Copperhead course is a shot makers track, with an emphasis on GIR's and putting.

Off to Doral for the WGC-Cadillac Championship. As far as scoring goes, this is the easiest of all courses on the Florida swing. As far as hitting fairways and greens, it's one of the hardest! So scoring will be done on the greens with the putter. Another factor to mention, is the wind! It will be blowing again this week and good wind players will have an advantage.
Good Luck!!

Off to Florida for the East Coast Swing! The Tour will have four tournaments in the Sunshine State, followed by one in Puerto Rico, one in Texas and then off to Georgia for the Masters! Oh how time flies!

Another year down means another golf season is on the way!!!
Let's have some fun this year guys!
Like I've said before and I'll say it again...I'm by no means a GREAT gambler, but I love golf and I love to bet on it. I feel like my knowledge on golf is very broad and by me posting my thoughts and picks...maybe...just maybe it will help someone out.
So tail at your own risk...and just like any other gambler out there, there will be good runs and bad runs. That's the nature of the beast!
GL to all

The final regular season tournament will be held at Sedgefield Country Club. It's about 7,100 yds. long and one of the easiest Par 70's in the rotation. Last year it had the lowest scoring average at 68.18. What a track to hold the last tournament on!! Expect a lot of scoring from good putters who like the course, and guys fighting to make the playoffs.

my buddy is watching at home and called me about this....McIlroy's tee shot ended up by a tree root. Instead of pitching out, he tries to be a hero and advance the ball. Nails the root and fucks up his wrist....

Oh my...are the players in for a treat this week. They get to play the redesigned (Rees Jones), battle proofed Atlanta Athletic Club! The course will be totally different than 2001 when the last Major was held. Fairways are tighter, bunkers and doglegs were added as well. The greens will be fast and hard. It's going to take someone who can control their spin and hit it in the right quadrant. And it's easier to do that if your in the fairway.
