**AJ's Picks - HP Byron Nelson Championship**

The Tour takes a short drive down I-30 from Ft. Worth to Irving for the Byron Nelson this week. The event is held in Las Colinas at the TPC Four Seasons Resort. The course is Par 70 and measures around 7,200 yds. A few years back the course was in terrible shape and the pros were threatening to never return. It has since made a complete 360 and the course is beautiful again and the pros love it. The new design has large undulating greens and the fairways are lined with trees. As always...fairways, greens and putting solid will get you a high finish this week. I think GIR's and Par 4 Scoring are very important stats to look at when capping. Also, guys that did good last week will most likely do well this week. It's pretty much the same as Colonial is the sense of shotmaking.

Like the last four...not sold on Watney this week though. Four starts with zero Top 10's and two cuts. Best finish was T31 in 2008. Wi and Day for sure!

Good luck with your plays!

what's your angle on JJ Henry? I looked at the stats and don't see a huge advantage. Good luck today.

Weird line to me is why I took JJ. Walker should be favored here. JJ has missed his last two cuts, but his average finish at the Nelson is 17 spots better than Walker's. JJ is also a local boy and the main angle is he was a player consultant on the renovations a few years back. I like to take guys that have helped design a course or helped with re-design's.

cool. he's got a better drive accuracy by a lot and I saw he went to TCU. I didn't know about designing the course. Thanks man, good luck today.

Jordan Spieth is in the field again this year. You guys keep an eye on this kid! He had a great tourny last year. He's a future star!!!

It was designed and built by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1983. The course was remodeled in 1986 by Jay Morrish, Byron Nelson and Ben Crenshaw. Over the years the course has had several changes, but the biggest one came after the 2007 tournament. D.A. Weibring was hired and his company came in and did some major renovations. Basically he came in and redid the greens, fairways and tees. But he didn't do the job off the cuff. He did a lot of research by asking every player on both the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour who played the course for feedback. He also got help from Tour players J.J. Henry and Harrison Frazar as well as architect Steve Wolfard.

Probably doesn't amount to much, but we always look for any angle we can use to our advantage!

Solid round for DJ..thought that water shot might ruin him for this round but rebounded nicely.

I know man...I thought the same thing. I was thinking he just fucked up my two bets I have on him. Very good turnaround for him and that's good to see too!

nice call on JJ. Walker helped a lot, but it's a win.

I certainly didn't expect that from Walker. That's kinda flukie, but like you said..."It's a win!"
