Steves comments almost sound... Resentful...

'Given the circumstances of the past 18 months working through Tiger's scandal, a new coach and with it a major swing change and Tiger battling through injuries, I am very disappointed to end our very successful partnership at this time'

Could he not have chose a better word then 'Scandal'..?? Like maybe 'Personal problems' or 'Personal issues'... I dunno and it seems like he's blaming the injuries and swing change.. It just feels like this statement is a 'shot' back at Tiger..

I think the fact that he believes he "wasted" the past couple years is a bigger surprise.

stevie made the mistake of caddying for scott... gave tiger an excuse and he pulled the trigger... i understand having to work but at 10% Tiger has made you over 10mil in the last 11-12 years.... You should have stayed 100% loyal and you didnt... you got burned... gl making 700-800k a year with another guy... but i will give you credit, cause tiger kept you for as long as he did.. i would have fired you after the 07 masters

It is all off the course issues.  Woods can take whatever twist on it he wants, it isn't for Williams not doing his job.  Maybe his wording wasn't right, but Williams was spot on. He stood by Tiger through thick and thin.  He made alot of cash so I don't feel sorry for him at all, but doubt Tiger will give a legitimate reason for the firing.  His fresh start keeps getting more sour as time passes.

You know it comes down to a lose-lose too which is really a shame. In all honesty both will survive just fine without the other. Stevie's talents are well documented and he will and is appreciated by many of the top players,Adam Scott is damn lucky things worked out the way they did he is the only one that really comes out on top.

For Tiger, it's just another sad commentary on the clean out process it can't not be easy for him to watch his best buddy slug a sack for one of the other top players. Worrying about what secrets Stevie may be sharing and if he will have the same dedication to Tiger when and if he comes back and even though Tiger could pay Stevie a flat salary that would be as much as he may make in % off other players winnings its really not the money it comes down to a loss in faith. Tiger's faith in Stevie's loyality and Stevie's faith in Tiger's ability to continue playing at a high enough level. Both guys come out hurt in this and after so many years it is a shame BUT Thats life, We will get over it, they will get over it.Time to move on..as they both will.

regardless of stevies talents... His income potential has dropped about 75%... There are very few players capable of making huge sums of money on tour... I doubt Stevie will get over this anytime soon...

... I got fired... Sac up its the real world you carry a bag and got paid well for it.. I carried my own bag today to save 20 for christ sakes.. Thats real life.. Caddies most overrated job in the world ( and I have a close friend who carries on PGA tour).. Get the yardage book ... very few read putts... and babysit..  tee his balls up at the range.. rake a few traps.. For a guy like Tiger its a gold mine... With or without Stevie Tiger would have won golf tournies... Ask Fluff ... You are his employe at the end of the day Stevie welcome to the real world.. You get to visit that side of life but caddies aint let in forever.. Go rake a freaking trap.. Dam he makes it sound like he was out there spitting the atom.. You hit zero shots looper..  He should have pulled the cord on your arrogant ass years ago..

Wow I'm surprised how little you guys know about what a caddy really does if you know a looper on the PGA tour then you should know..  if you ever played competitive golf you should know... there is much much more to it. No one is more important to a golfer than the man that walks next to him with his bag you are right he never hits a shot and you are also right that they get paid extremely well but the job requires alot more than raking traps and slugging the sack.Stevie has always had Tiger's back and Tiger knows it.

Ask Adam Scott what he think of Stevie's abilities and I'm sure you would hear this one phrase , Stevie is without question the best caddy on tour with one possible exception bones..Fluff was good in his day but that day has long since passed and not many young caddies coming up can boast the eyes that Stevie has proven over the years.

Stevie has banked and invested much of his money in the time he has been with Tiger and if he only made 200,000k a year untill he quits looping he would survive just fine..he will probally cut back on buying racecars now but thats about it.

I thought this too, until he caddies for Scott... If I was Tiger I would have fired him the moment he asked to caddy for someone else... For everyting Tiger has done for him, granted Stevie did alot too, I cant imagine anything more insulting... It would be one thing to caddy for a common friend but Adam Scott is a guy who once came out as the Tiger Woods Prototype... Tiger knows him well cause of there constant swing comparisons in the early 2000's... I would have been pissed and to me, given Tiger's situation, I can understand how Stevie would be fired without any remorse whatsoever on Tigers part..

I also think you are overestimating Stevie's wealth... I have a hard time believing a race driving best friend of a notorious womanizer, has his financial situation in check... Anyone who owns a racing team is only in it for the thrill and probably loses money every year...  I say given Stevie's expenses he will be broke or close to broke in 2-3 years... Its probably the reason he needed to caddy for Scott in the first place... He needed the money...

But its all speculation... I just think this is a lose-lose like you said... But I place the blame more on Stevie, for not being loyal to his King...

You guys turning this around on Stevie is laughable, but then again what do you expect aymore with the Fraud apologists.  He is a caddie, A CADDIE cmon with your He belongs to Tiger BS, they are supposedly so tight, with all the fake tears and hugs over the years on the made for tv drama.  The guy wants to work, and was helping out Scott, are they both from Austrailia?  He asked the Fraud and but instead of being a man, Fraud has no heart or soul as you can tell, to say no to Stevie, instead the pussy he is, let's him then fires him with zero personal contact.  Amazes me how people still line up to kiss his feet.

Stevie owns a owns a huge farm outright and tons of cars and has a partnership (which Tiger used to be part of) in race cars but if he does not have a nest egg he has a secret drug habit cause any fool can bank a few bucks when he has had 10 million earnings over an 18 year period.

Tiger just got overwhelmed man he see's how fucked up his scene is he knows he might not make it back to the pinnacle he tried to be a good guy and keep Stevie involved while he recouped and it just got the best of him and he couldn't take it anymore without Stevie Tiger feels no pressure to return sooner, it's all about Tigers head man and Stevie knows it yeah his knee is not perfect few people's are but Tiger's problem is still Tiger not Stevie.

It seems to me Scott has played better since Stevie jumped on his bag I'm not sure if thats backed up by the numbers but it seems that way.

I had  glorified babysitter in the job description.. Sorry have to agree to disagree here.. Have played and caddied in college  for cash and when you get down to it they are overvalued for almost all PGA tour players.. IE Stricker used to use his wife.. O' Hair has his best years with his father in law on the bag.. Love his brother.. Besides Steve and Fluff 95 % of golf fans cannot name more then a handful of loopers.. Have a friend on a bag on the tour and he trys to expound on his talent but we know him.. .. Sure nice to have a ear and some input but bottom line Tiger when he had it going,  I could have carried that bag around with a yardage book and he would still have won.. Nice story are the caddies but he aint pulling it back on that four footer..  Tough gig for most loopers as its the road and hotels and it aint in a plane for most for a good portion of the year..
