Off to Akron for the WGC Bridgestone at Firestone CC. It's a very respected Par 70 track, that measures more than 7,400 yds. The fairways are narrow, lined with bunkers and the rough is...well, it's rough! Length will help you here, but I don't think it's a must. Accuracy of the tee is #1 this week, followed by GIR's. The greens are not hard to read, as they are for the most part flat. Look for your big name, solid ball striker to suceed this week!

I go for a Top10 finish.
Also backed him in the H2H against McIlroy.

I also like Clarke to finish best Irish for 9-1.

BTW how's this for a "progression" idea: I just placed 20 bucks on Tiger to win this thing at 15-1 or thereabouts.... he likely won't win, so next time I'll put another 20 bucks on him, and so on until he wins... if they keep putting tags like 15 or 20 to ONE on this guy I will gladly start doubling up at some point provided he shows gradual improvement.  If he hasn't won a tourny by the end of the season I will have a funny story to tell and will have lost less than ONE average sized bet (ie. ONE of my units) ...going the whole rest of the schedule lol... its sure to cost me less than a few hundred bucks over the course of the next few months, and if he happens to win a tourny, EVEN ONE - I'll be very comfortably in the black on the whole enterprise.  Wish me luck bud.

Best of luck on your picks this week AJ, I played Tiger to win just because he has performed so well here and at 17-1 I couldn't pass it up but I probably should have. With a gun to my head I would say he'll finish somewhere in the middle of the pack but let's see what happens.

Sounds risky. I hate futures. Really doubt he will do much this week. It's too much to ask of someone who hasn't played competitive golf in some time. I think he's playing this week to get four rounds under his belt at a place he's comfortable at.

Not sure you read my whole post... if you think he will never win another tournament, well, I could be out a good $300 at the end of the day.  Its not about THIS tourny dude.  Anyway, I don't bet futures myself and this is a progression not a future per se... I'm betting he doesn't go O-Fer the rest of his career as many people think he will...good luck.

lol I finally got my deposit in. I told him that he should try to get it in as best as possible that I was on a losing streak and it was to their advantage. He said yeah "we are hoping you continue to lose cause we need about another 18 (k)  from you to break even from last year". lol My book knows me well and doesn't like me. As long as they pay me when I win I am fine with them hating me. I lost a lot with 5dimes and them as well since last September. Looking at the afternoon golf. Just thought I would pass along what he said about wanting me to lose. Ahhhh memories...

No way, not a traditional double down.  My point is the number is so high that one has the opportunity to wait it out, play the $20 every week (barring signs he is NOT coming back into form or fully recovered from injury) each week for dozens of weeks before you are into serious losses (which for me would take me into the hundreds to equal ONE unit).  If I cannot win a single tourny with this alleged has been I will laugh it off.  If I keep playing the 20 bucks a week (when he plays) I'm pretty sure he will win before I hit a unit of loss and at anything more than 15-1 I will be fine with the payout too.

You may just hit it. Nobody knows with this guy. He'll play what, four or five more offical tournaments this year IF he makes the playoffs. I'm sure FEDEx playoffs is probably extra motivation too.

I really can't wait to see how the next three days pan out....

with you on Rose, I see most everyone on Scott over DJ. My main concern is that Scott is 11 shots ahead and most of the time the guy who had a great round the previous day returns to earth and the guy who had a bad one improves a little. I am not playing it so for you and others sake I hope Scott wins it. GL
