NFL Comps for Opener

Platinum Selections have been hot this month. Although there have not been many of late, enjoy this opening night NFL play tonight.

Lean: 2 units or $200 each

Packers -4.5/Under 48

It would seem as though the champs in the opener would struggle to win or cover the spread in their first game the following season. The public likes these teams, but history shows us differently, as the Super Bowl winner has gone perfect since the inception of the opening night Thursday game. Since 2002 the faves have gone 5-2-2 but more importantly the home teams are 6-1-2 ATS. In 2009 Pitt won in overtime, but failed to cover the 6.5 point spread. That was a one time occurrence, as each champion have pretty much covered the spread with insurance. Tonight's game should show no difference as Green Bay wins by 7+. Under has gone 4-0 over the last four openers, and 6-3 L9 season openers with one of the 3 losses hitting the Over by a half point. Saints have not put on a display in their previous 2 Thursday openers scoring 10 vs. Indy a few years back and 14 just last year.

FREE NFL Preseason, Colts +3.5

Indianapolis +3.5 to win $200

The Colts and Bills face off in week 2 of the NFL Preseason schedule. Both teams got it handed to them last week, so look for a better played game by both clubs.

Peyton Manning will undoubtedly see limited time as always in meaningless games. Last week he threw for 91 yards, didn't have a pick or a td pass. He will get his team on the board tonight though.

The Colts used Curtis Painter and Tom Branstater after Manning was through. Painter was awful, throwing 3 picks, while Branstater had a pick of his own but did toss a TD pass.

For the Bills, well it was the same old cast. The Bills allowed 42 points, including 2 rushing touches, 2 passing td's, 1 for McNabb, and 1 from Rex Grossman, a 44 yarder. They also allowed a 77 yard punt return touchdown early in the 3rd quarter.Ryan Fitzpatrick led the way with a TD toss and 61 yards, while Trent Edwards went 6 for 12 for 58 yds and a pick. Levi Brown got time, and also threw a pick.

It seems as though many will play the over in tonights meeting, but I have a strong feeling this one will stay under the total. The Bills are not going to put many points up, and the Colts, even without Manning playing extended time, will compete. Indy has always played better in exhibition as dogs rather than as favorites. As a favorite last week they lost again going to 1-8-1 ATS as favorites in their last 10 preseason games. They are still lagging as dogs at 6-9 ATS over the la... [More]

Betting the MLB 2nd half

Roughly 54% of the 2009 MLB season is behind us, as we witness the All-Star break, and look for good betting tips and advice for the future. This is definitely the place as I will break down the best and worst of the first half, and take a glimpse into what the future will hold for bettors alike as we anticipate the second half of an already great MLB season.

Betting the MLB Run-lines:
If you can find the right teams to play on, this could very easily be a lucrative investment while betting MLB for the remainder of the season. A glimpse of the good, bad and the ugly in betting MLB run-lines: San Fran sits as the MLB's top run-line team so far in 2009. The Giants are 52-35 playing the spread in every game this season. That is actually better than their 49-39 SU record by 3 games. San Fran is in a pretty weak division with the padres, and D-Backs. They win a lot of ballgames by 2+ runs, and as dogs either win outright or lose by just a run. Keep an eye on them the rest of the way, as they will only get better as the season progresses. Pittsburgh is a surprising close second at 50-38 on the run-line. The Angels are not too shabby either at 48-38.
The league's worst are Atlanta of all teams. Usually the Braves lose close games, but at the same time they win close games as well. Being favored often does not help this team's run-line backers as they are 35-53 betting the run-line in 2009. They are followed by the Indians(36-53) and of course the Nationals(37-50) as t... Aftermath's Platinum MLB

For the next 90 days I will hopefully get the forum some solid winners. Enough winners for those following to build a huge bankroll for the upcoming football season. I am looking at 200 units in the next 90 days just in MLB action. Laugh at it, play it, or just ignore it. Consider this an early x-mas present to this forum. All I would like in return is some positivity, whether this turns out over or under the predicted amount. They aren't just picks as I will always have a write-up to go along with it most of the time.   Let's have some fun.   6/3/09 JUNE 3,2009

$500 Angels/Jays UNDER 9
This game will likely cruise to the under. Last night these teams went over and considering the fact that they have played the under 13 of the last 17, it should make for a great call tonight. Weaver faces Janssen. Weaver has yet to face the Jays in Toronto, but at home he has made a name for himself vs. this club. Toronto has averaged about 3 runs per game when Weaver starts. Janssen is on the verge of making a name for himself after some quality outputs this year. He has allowed 3 ERs in each of his 2 starts with both being 6 innings and 7 innings respectively. In his career he has failed to allow a run to the Angels just yet. In 2 outings back in 2006, he pitched over 15 innings of scoreless baseball. I suspect he will get it done tonight in a 3-1 final. ... [More]
