Why do I bet soccer?

I should know better than to bet on a sport I fell in love with because of a video game. Something tells me the fact that I know Zlatan Ibrahimovic has an 85 rating on FIFA 11 won’t help me cap a Champions League match between Milan and Spurs.

But that didn’t stop me from backing the Serie A leaders to top Totty yesterday.

I built my sportsbook account up through the NFL playoffs and followed it up with some shrewd NBA plays here and there and then I blow a quarter of my winnings on two soccer games yesterday.
I’ve got no self restrain. That’s why I hit the vending machine every day at work and that’s why I bet Champions League football.

I should just stick to betting the sports I know best but I know I won’t. Arsenal and Barcelona play this afternoon and I’ll be watching, which means I’m going to have to bet it. I can’t remember the last time I watched a game without any action on it. I mean, what’s the point?

Anyway, help me save my BetJamaica.com account and give me a winning play for Arsenal-Barcelona tonight.

I’m open to any suggestions.

The line on Barca ML looks wayyy too easy so if anything I'd take that (Draw) or maybe even a baby play on Arsenal

Bet the other game, Shakhtar Donetsk is not only fun to say, they are getting +.5 goal.  Just imagine screaming "Shakhtar Donetsk" at the top of your lungs in the office.

my opinion is that if you don't know much about the sport or match from a betting standpoint but want to put a wager on it in order to have a little more fun watching just BET LESS.... it seems a little ridiculous that you lost so much money yesterday on the Champions League matches.  Why?  If you don't have the knowledge to back up your picks then it really makes no sense.  Even more dangerous than losing yesterday, is if you had won you would have probably bet even more today and possibly lost....Bet small on these games.  All the teams are great therefore making it very difficult to wager on.... 

Also, its unfortunate that so many people lost money on AC MILAN yesterday but i really don't think it makes it a bad pick... More often than not MILAN is gonna find a way to put one in the net..... the reason why you are angry that you lost your bet on Milan is the same reason why we all continue to gamble.  Its fun cuz anything can happen... and does, all of the time

Cgizzle, in soccer terms, I think vanzack means that that Barca should be priced a little better in the +120 to +150 ML area, considering it is the first leg AWAY and most away teams play for draws at the very minimum.

I didnt do it, but the sharp bets are obviously Shakhtar and Arsenal Not To Lose at about evens.

Sorry fellas I am a dipshit but in all honesty, how could you possibly expect to get +120 - +150 with Barca?  I don't think he is dumb because he has a different opinion but rather for saying that the price was too high.  If anything, I thought the price was too low given the fact that they seem to own Arsenal.

if you are to bet on the Barca game, then you need to go with the draw it will give you the better value, Barca yes it is the best team in the world, however lets look at Arsenal, it will put quite a bit of pressure and they will draw or win.  they will not lose this game.

7 of Barcas 9 losses this season have come when they've been without Pyol who also is their "defensive general" so yeah, -120 a bad price on Barca cause this isn't Osasuna or Santander...

i've been having the same problem but I figured out a solution. I love betting tennis/soccer/hockey/basketball just about ANYTHING. I follow hockey the most so I risk 2 units or even 1 unit on 2 games a day. Any other soccer / tennis game, for fun i'll put like .3 or .4 units just so I can watch it for enjoyment and if they loose I wont be pissed. You dont have to risk a lot of units on it just so you can watch it.Just put 30$/ 40$ on it and watch it for enjoyment!
