Let's start College Football on the right foot fellas. May it be a prosperous year for everyone.
Now to our game - As far as Troy's concerned, nothing much or significant has taken place in their line up. For them it's pretty much a new season for the same old crew. Middle Tenn have had a complete face lift, the only trouble with the face lifts is that the appearance always looks good but the old dying body inside is still the same, minus the wrinkles of course, which can be very deceptive to the outside observer!
The books are trying to sell to the outside observers this face lift makeover by making Mid.Tennessee only a 4.5 point dog! As for me, I don't buy it but there'll be plenty who will. I hope I am the one smiling at the end of this though . Eventhough Troy is travelling here, this will be a blow out in my opinion! Big play
Pick: TROY -4.5 for a 6Unit Play
Good luck and best wishes as always

Theoretically, in my humble opinion this game should be easy to cap. The Russians are the most efficient team from beyond the arc - they throw bombs and Boooooooom the bombs sink! USA should score every time the girls go to the basket, as they've done in their past 6 matches, at will, scoring nearly a hundred every time! Thereupon, from that stand point, you'd think the OVER was a "lock".
However, it's easy to make bombs go Boooooooom when you play Mali, Spain or Brazil. Team USA is a whole different kettle of fish, and the ball becomes slightly too big for that "tiny" little hoop! When you're playing against the team lead by Lisa Leslie, threes don't seem to drop as easily as they do during the warm up session!!!
We know the Americans will score, but can one woman Russian team push this over the total?? I highly doubt! Watch for Russia trying to force their shots from beyond the 3 pt arc, again and again, but they'll turn to bricks most of the time. One last thing, I know Russia leads the pack in 3 pointers but they're committing turn overs as though they're going out of fashion! Two plays for me here
Pick: UNDER 156.5 2 Unit play
USA -24.5 1 Unit play
Enjoy the game and Good luck everyone

After an apalling start the Aussies have suddenly found some pretty decent form, nailing the two Baltic superpowers of Europan ball, namely Russia (European Champs) and Lithuania (undefeated thus far in the tourney). After their disasterous first game loss, the country ripped the Milwaukee big Bucks' man to shreds for under-performing for Australia, but since then the Bogey man has struck some amazing form and even made it rain 3's in the Boomers last game.
There are a few plusses for the Underdogs as they have a crack at the Big Dogs tonight. Firstly, the Redeem Team has a major weakness from beyond the arc. You would not find Jason Capono, Steve Nash, Sasha, Kevin Martin or Stojakovic in this team. Secondly, a team of amazing indivduals are always bound to let their supporters down and under-perform when playing for their nation. I have in mind my favourite soccer team, the Netherlands, who've always boasted some of the most amazing individual talents on planet earth, yet they would lose in the qualifiers to Borat and his Kazakhstani crew!!! Unbelievable indeed! (I still feel like smashing my TV when I'm reminded of those days of J. Cruijff, Gullitt, Van Basten, etc...and how those legends never got to hold that World Cup trophy aloft). Anyway...
Well, unfortunately for my balling countrymen, that's where the weaknesess of the US Team end! It would take an Epistle to start l...

When he woke up this morning, the ex Number 1 player in men's Tennis would have realised that what actually happened was not a bad dream but rather a grim reality. How awful it must have been for him not having his mandatory digit in front of his name, as it was "stolen" by the Spanish Olympic Champion. Without over dramatising it, I actually felt sad for Fedexpress, because it really marked the end of an era in men's Tennis. It wasn't just that Roger had lost his number 1 ranking, but that he will never again dominate the ATP circuit as he has done over the last 4 years. That was then, this is now! Back in January, you could only get a mere $2.5 return on your dollar if you backed Roger to win all 4 majors in 2008! Now the question is 'Will Roger ever win another major?' Many people's answer to that question now would be 'Not bloody likely!"
Here's a little break down of Federer's demise, and why the punters should lose confidence in the ex number 1 player. He could not beat Nadal on grass, he could not win a hard court title in 7 attempts, he has lost to Stepanek, Karlovic, Simon and Fish, he looked like a lost little boy last week in Bejing against Blake making so many unforced errors and being more erratic than a DUI driver. It's not just his losses but the manner in which he lost those matches. He played those matches as...

So all of a sudden, just like that C Pennington has all the answers for the sorry ass Dolphis?! Is he even gonna get suited up for tonight's game against the Jags?! Yeah probably he will, however I am not buying at all into all the hype that's surrounding his transfer to Miami.
Anyhow, again it's the totals that has my interest here. Miami's offence was bloody awful last week against Tampa and I don't foresee a whole lot of improvement take place today against the Jags who boast a very staunch defencive line. Add to all this, the fact that the Jags will be missing a few offensive starters and we have ourselves favoured quite nicely with a big chance for a low scoring game. The books opened this at 33.5, and it's at 34.5 with most books now.
Pick. UNDER 34.5 ( for a 2.5 Unit play)

I thought both teams looked pretty sharp last week, so tonight we have two teams with a great start to the new season. As I assessed this match up, I kept in mind last year's Tennessee's run game (especially at home) and I believe that fact will make things pretty hard for the struggling Raiders (who, let me say, were attrocious last season) Sure I may be way off the mark here, but I find it very difficult to believe that Oakland's offence has had a major face lift this year. I expect loads of ball running tonight as the time keeps ticking away. A few iffs and buts in the Titans' line-up tonight, and we've got ourselves another Total winner here
Pick : UNDER 35.5 for a 2 Unit play

Sorry to start a new thread boys, but I got sick of scrolling down hundreds of posts in that old one. Hopefully though, only a new thread but the old streak remains the same . Remember this is a 'No Bull' NFL season for me.

Anyhow, where was I before getting rudely interrupted?! Oh yeah, week 2 of the Pre-Season offers a nice total on the Steelers vs Buffalo Bills. Pitt looked pretty sharp last week in both ends of the field i.e. offence as well as D. Tomorrow I expect the fwd. line to clock in a full game and earn their pay against the Bills, whereas the backline to experimentally be chopped 'n changed as the coaching staff tests their various defensive crew!
And mate, what the bloody hell was up with Buffalo last week? I believe they'll come out swinging in front of their home crowd as the whole season ticket sales and memberships are on the line. Win or lose, the crowd want to see the Bills ability to touch the end of the line. Faith, confidence and trust needs to be restored in front of their home supporters.
As Pitt chops and changes their line up during the late stages of the game, look for the Bills to stick their nose in and take it up to the Steelers' "young guns'.
The line opened at 33.5 and here in the land DownUnder we can now get it at 31 flat!
Pick: OVER 31 for 3.5 Unit play

I was refraining myself from taking another punt here tonight, as I've already locked and loaded some Tennis action. I guess I want some adrenaline as I veg out and watch these games but more importantly I saw the opportunity arise here as the line has been moving alot in the last few hours.(3 pts already!)
Why are people showing so much love to the People's Republic?! Yeah, they beat Brazil, but crikey - did you boys see Brazil today?! What a pathetic and overrated bunch they were. And the same applies to Russia too, by the way.
Australia is a whole different team, and they've looked extremely sharp. The way I see capped this - I asked myself this question before I made my decision: Can Australia win every quarter by 5-6 pts???? The answer was loud and clear 'Hell Yeah'
I'm playing this small tonight though, as I'm playing the two NFL matches tomorrow pretty big. (stay tuned)
Pick AUSTRALIA mate -19.5!

Not a whole heap of time at the moment for an in-depth write up boys, but hopefully let's continue the amazing ride we've been having ...
Belarus is being seen as a surprise package here, but I wouldn't have thought so. They've got some really solid players in the pack there with Leuchanka leading the way for them.
No doubt Russia on the other hand is one of the best teams in Europe (and the world too!) and therefore we see them favoured here by 8 pts (they opened as 9 pt faves)
I couldn't care less who wins this or if they cover or not, as long as they keep lighting up the scoreboard. There should be plenty of run and penetration to the basket. The total is set a slight too high but Both teams boast a high % of FG too
Pick: OVER 145.5 2Unit play

I hate myself for doing this, but couldn't resist! Have had an awesome day so far ..but someone should have warned me that gambling is quite addictive!
Anyway, let's get on with this - There is no way (famous last words!!!) that this is going over the total. If Australia chooses to have a shoot out fest with the Argentines, they're doomed to get blown out of the stadium. I don't think Brian G. would allow his team AND HIMSELF to be utterly embarrased like that. I've got in mind that His team the Sydney Kings boasts one of the best D's in the Australian league, thanks to his coaching philosophy (not that it says much when it comes to international ball though) But I really believe that Anstey, Bogut and co will apply a much better defence tonight than what they did against the Croats. Although, not much you could do against the Croatians as they made it rain 3's the other night. I dont think Argentina will be allowed to score at will here, and certainly the Aussies won't shoot the lights out either.
Add to this equation, that this is a must win game for either team, and that makes the under a smart a solid play. It's gone up to 161.5 now - Let's collect the paper with this one fellas
Pick UNDER 161.5 3 Unit play, locked and loaded

What a ripper of a match this will be. As much as I love Seinfeld, I am Spewing that Channel 9 has decided to show the Fab 4 Re-runs, thus delaying the telecast of this ripsnorter at Brookvale tonight . These pretzles are making me thirsty ...
No doubt these two teams are the best in the game and both will try and prove a point tonight. Let's not talk about 2007 G/Final, but rather look at this as a 2008 G/Final preview. In my very humble estimation, I'd say that M.Crocker and B.Slater are probably more despised than osama and amrozi combined, at Brookvale! Speaking of that turf, Cam Smith said that "..it's pretty much like a graveyard there... it's extremely intimidating...I remember my first game there and I was shitting myself." And that is if the Manly crowd's got nothing against you!! Can you imagine the reception the Storm are set to receive tonight there???
By the same token I don't think the Storm crew is a bunch of pussies though, and I think Manly will be in for a dog of a fight. Melbourne is out to prove that they are the number 1 team in the competition and that they're shooting for a 3rd consecutive top place finish. "Crocker's a wanker" chant is probably bound to fire him up more tonight. "It's great" he said, "I can't wait", when he was told about the reception that he was to expect at Manly tonight.
The SeaEagles will have a couple of players out tonight (K...

Tennis lovers around the globe rejoice - A changing of the guards has just taken place! The unfathomable happend today when Rafa 'the Bull' Nadal held off a quarterfinal challenge by the Ecuadorian Lapentti downing him in straight sets 7-6; 6-1 to reach the Cincy semis. Thereupon, after 235 weeks as World number 1 in Men's tennis, Roger Federer known as the Swiss Master, is no longer on top of the tennis world! Roger must have looked one too many times out of that window and he gave in (think how Kramer lost the Contest!!)......leaving him no longer to be The Master of his Domain, no longer King of the County, no longer lord of the Manor....
With Fedex not being able to reach the semis here, The Bull from Mallorca, who even had an asteroid named after him a month ago, becomes the 24th player in the history of the ATP to hold the number one spot and the third Spanish player to achieve such an accomplishment (Carlos Moya 1999) and (Juan Carlos Ferrero 2003). Nadal (at $1.40) now faces the Djoker in the Cincy semis, and if he cruises past him (which I have no doubt that he will), he will be the new World number 1 on Monday, when the new ATP ranking is released. However, if the bizarre takes place and Nadal loses to the Djoker tomorrow, then he'll have to wait until after the Olympics to be crowned the new number 1.
This is all good and intere... [More]

This shoulda/woulda/coulda have been a ripsnorter of a game had the Titans had a decent side to present tonight. However, they're depleting more rapidly than the Starbucks stores around the country. (seriously on a side note nothing to do with Friday night rugby, what's with your coffee you Americans??? What's with all the syrups, creams and craps on top of the good old cappuccino or latte???)
However, before we start perculating here, let's get back to what's brewing in Melbourne tonight. Storm is so urinated off by last week's loss; combine that with their last time drubbing they were handed by the Titans, will only spell disaster to the tourists tonight down at Toyota park. TAB opened Gold Coast as 4 converted tries dog! In my humble estimation, that's only half of what the spread should be here. I expect the Total to be covered by Storm alone here (+44.5)
-24.5 sounds alot to the untrained ear, and could be quite "appealing" to take the Titans + pts, but this will be a bloodbath and the Storm will cover the spread well and truly
Laying 6 large ones on the Storm -24.5
Good luck everyone - AUSSIE ...
