Parlay Players Unite!!! - 04/23 - (7-2) Yesterday! It CAN Be Done!!!

There are many players here that like to parlay. Payouts are higher for risking less. But you consistently go 2-1, 3-1, 4-1 or whatever.
And while I'm sure there are many holes in this theory, it would seem if we all put our best play here we can collectively come up with one good parlay.
Even if we don't win everyday, once a week is still a good payout. So here's how we can do this, nice and easy:
1) Post one play. Game, total, or 1st 5 innings.2) Check the plays posted before yours. If someone posted opposite of your play, then you're S.O.L. If we all post what we like, we'll end up with just a bunch of plays. So that's important.3) Once there are 10 plays in the thread, our collective parlay is set. Just put "Play #" whatever so we can tell what number we're on at a glance. This should make it easy for everyone.
That's it! So anyone willing to offer a solid play to the parlay, let's have it! And please make sure it's solid. With a solid group effort we may be able to do it!
(NO PLAYS OVER -155, PLEASE. And it doesn't have to be just MLB, just make sure it can be put in a parlay!)

5 NFL Pigskins - {Thursday-Sunday} & NFL GOY

Record: (36-24)
Things are looking up, but adding more cash to the stash never hurts.
(2-0) on MNF after playing NOTHING on Sunday. But it was worth the wait.
But not as much as what is going on this week. 5 Plays covering Thursday-Sunday, culminating in my NFL Game Of The Year.Surprisingly enough (and completely unplanned) the same week as my GOY in NCAAF. {One *5* Star, 3 *10* Stars, and 1 *20* Star}
There's ONE and ONLY for me and I stand by it. NO MATTER WHAT.
So without further ado:
5* - [105] Indianapolis Colts OVER 42.5 -110 vs Jacksonville Jaguars
10* - [230] Minnesota Vikings +2.5 -110 vs Detroit Lions10* - [234] Philadelphia Eagles +1.5 -110 vs Dallas Cowboys10* - [236] San Francisco 49ers -11.5 -110 vs St. Louis Rams
20* - [238] Chicago Bears -1 -110 vs Houston Texans(GOY)

So there you go. See you all at the finish line!

1 NCAAF *5* Star Thursday Night Pigskin And *5* Star Teaser

Thursday Night NCAAF back in action and it's a busy one with 3 games going

After analyzing the schedule, I see a rare opportunity for me. Not only a straight play, but a 3 Team 10 Pt teaser. I've only done 1 teaser on the entire NFL/NCAAF season and am 1-0 in said teaser. Not really a fan of them, so when I play them I have a good reason.

First, the single selection:

5* - [108] Troy +3.5 -140 vs Western Kentucky
(Bought up past the FG, think it MAY come into play)

And now the teaser:

5* - [108] Troy +13 -130 vs Western Kentucky
5* - [105] UTEP +27 -130 vs Tulsa
5* - [103] Arizona State -12.5 -130 vs Colorado

So there's the Thursday Action!

1 NFL *10* Star Thursday Night Pigskin Play

Record: (28-13)
Well the NFL has gone back to normal since the return of the 'regular' officials. And by normal I mean instead of complaining about the replacement refs, everyone can go back to complaining about the regular refs.  Oh yea!
Well the focus of this writing is for the Steelers at Tennessee match up. I would love to give you all types of trends and colorful analogies, but this play is based primarily on 5 things:
1) Tennessee has given up AT LEAST 30 points every game this season.2) They've only scored more than 2 TD once during that same stretch. 3) Hasselback is starting his 2nd game in place of Locker in what is likely his last season in the NFL. How much is he REALLY putting himself out there? I would say not much as evidenced by that 30-7 beat down from Minnesota. 4) Chris Johnson just hasn't been the same since getting paid. He rushed 15 times for 24 yards the last time out. Just don't see that getting much better this week.5) Pittsburgh is (0-5) ATS their Last 5 regular season road games. I look for that to end Thursday Night.
So the play is obviously:
10* - [101] Pittsburgh Steelers -4 -125 vs Tennessee Titans (I bought it down to -4)
So there you have it. Let's keep the winning going!

1 NFL *10* Star MNF Pigskin Play

Record: (26-13)
MNF is here once again and a big time winner is on deck. The Houston Texans are number one in the AFC in nearly every category that's good. They face the Jets who are basically the exact opposite in the AFC in every way.You knew that already, but let me scare the #%$* out of you, or not, with this FACT:
Houston has won 28 road games since returning to the NFL in their renewed venture as the Texans. Their ATS record over that 28 games? (26-1-1) ATS
So thanks for stopping by. The play is on the Texans...
Is Lee Corso in the house? "NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!!!"
If you want to run with that stat, you wouldn't be wrong. Or would you?
Well my numbers and research are a little, well a lot esoteric. But effective. So much so that this caries a rating of *10* Stars which is rarely used. But do hit at a HIGH rate when used, including (2-0) this past weekend. Having said all that...
The numbers are in and the play is -
10* - [436] New York Jets +9 -105 vs Houston Texans
I'm looking over the total and may have something later, but for now here it is.
See you for the game!

I was fortunate enough to go (2-0) in MLB and (5-0) in NCAAF yesterday. I didn't do any write up for those so finishing out the weekend in like fashion makes some sense. Some...

5* - [416] Indianapolis Colts +7.5 -130 vs Green Bay Packers
5* - [418] New York Giants -7 -115 vs Cleveland Browns
5* - [431] Buffalo Bills UNDER 46 -125 vs San Francisco 49ers
5* - [412] Washington Redskins +4 -130 vs Atlanta Falcons
5* - [430] New England Patriots -5.5 -120 vs Denver Broncos

2 *5* Star NFL Thursday Night Plays With Write Ups

Record: (20-10)
Well it's that time again. Thursday Night Football and we have an undefeated team on deck.
Arizona is one of the remaining undefeated teams left. Statistically speaking, one of the no loss teams is a virtual lock to go down this week. If I had to only pick one, it would be Atlanta. RG III is going to create all types of havoc vs the Atl D. But that's a story for another day. Anyway...
Both of these teams are (3-1) ATS on the season. So both aren't bad money wise. The Rams are (2-0) ATS home in their 2 home games. However, since 2004 the Rams have not covered back to back divisional home games. So while I backed the Rams vs the Seahawks, that will not be the case this game.
5* - [301] Arizona Cardinals -2.5 -105 vs St. Louis Rams
And as for the total, the easy move is to take the Under. Tough defense and low scoring. Some things shouldn't be over thought.
5* - [301] Arizona Cardinals UNDER 39.5 -105 vs St. Louis Rams

3 *5* Star MLB Evening Plays - (3-0) Earlier Today

(19-3) L22
(3-0) earlier today and looking for more of the same tonight.

Baltimore is taking on the Rays tonight in their final game of the season. The Orioles need a win to have a chance at staking their claim to the AL East crown. This will be tough but they can get it done. And it will make for a good story later on espn.
5* - [977] Baltimore Orioles -107 vs Tampa Bay Rays

The Red Sox have just looked awful. In fact here are some of those headlines that have you shaking your head:
As The Daisuke Era Ends, A Look Back To The BeginningRed Sox manager Bobby Valentine falls off bike while reading text messageNot bad, huh? Why would anyone back this team tonight? They're in shambles. The Yanks need this game to hold off the O's and keep the Division. But no, the other part of that espn story will be the Sox making a game of it vs NY and giving them a scare. Win or lose, Boston will make a game of this.5* - [975] Boston Red Sox +1.5 +155 vs New York Yankees

This game doesn't mean squat to the Detroit Tigers so much so that they're pitching the final game by committee. They have nothing to gain by winning. Give KC their big home win to finish the season and let's get to the playoffs. The only thing they care about today is not getting hurt and a possible triple crown winner.
5* - [980] Kansas City Royals -114 vs Detroit Tigers

MNF *5* Star - Chi@Dal - Write Up - {Please Drop Your Top MNF Play Here}

Record: (19-10)

After the day started (3-0), the night action went (0-2) with Philly getting into the red zone several times only to walk away with FG after FG.  But hey, things happen. Time for tonight's action:
Big D plays at home tonight vs the Bears in a who really knows what's going to happen game.
I'm posting these stats for show as this week I really don't think it matters. Maybe it never does, but...
CHICAGO is 4-16 ATS (-13.6 Units) vs. good passing defenses - allowing 175 or less passing yards/game since 1992.The average score was CHICAGO 11.7, OPPONENT 22.4
DALLAS is 4-17 ATS (-14.7 Units) as a favorite over the last 3 seasons. The average score was DALLAS 24.5, OPPONENT 22.3
Garrett is 0-7 ATS (-7.7 Units) in games where the line is +3 to -3 as the coach of DALLAS.The average score was DALLAS 15.5, OPPONENT 24.9
Smith is 2-12 ATS (-11.2 Units) in road games vs. good passing teams averaging 7 or more passing yards/att. as the coach of CHICAGO.The average score was CHICAGO 14.9, OPPONENT 25.1
So there you go stat and trend guys. I'm sure that cleared things up for you.

For me, I'm going with:
5* - [231] Chicago Bears +3 -103 vs Dallas Cowboys

2 *5* Star Sunday Night Pigskins - (3-0) Earlier Today

Record: (19-8)
So which one of the 3 *5* Stars from earlier was the easiest?
Well definitely a good start to the day, now it's time to finish strong:

5* - [230] Philadelphia Eagles -2.5 -108 vs New York Giants
So the Eagles start off the season (0-3) ATS. Sweet. Then the NY Giants come to town and everything is gets worse for the Eagles? No. The Giants went on the road last week and destroyed the Panthers. The Eagles have 2 wins and both of them are by 1 point. So now I'm supposed to believe the Defending SB Champs will the 1st team they beat this year by more than a FG in Week 4? Sure do...PHILADELPHIA is 11-1 ATS at home after a loss by 21 or more points since 1992.

5* - [229] New York Giants OVER 46 -107 vs Philadelphia Eagles
This will be a high scoring affair. At least high enough to get Over this total. They haven't gone Under 2 in a row thus far. And I doubt this will be the game to break that streak.

3 NFL *5* Pigskins With Write Ups And Trends

Record: (16-8)
A nice win on Thursday taking the Browns as they cover wire to wire. A few more of those is just what the doctor ordered.

5* - [218] St. Louis Rams +3 -117 vs Seattle Seahawks
Karma is a %^#^! Don't think for a second that you're getting away with that travesty, Seahawks. At this point it's been established that the victory was tainted, badly. From experts to Bill Clinton and everyone in between. Well payday is Sunday for the Rams backers. I have trends, but I'd rather rant than give actual stats for this one. Seattle loses a close one late and Packers fans are vindicated.

5* - [205] New England Patriots OVER 48.5 -107 vs Buffalo Bills
The Pats are unhappy, the Bills are - well, the Bills. This is not going to be pretty, but many points will be scored. Since 2000, the Bills have played 2 games as a home dog with the total Over 45 vs the Division. Both games were vs the Pats. (07&11) Both games went Over. If that's not enough:
NEW ENGLAND is 12-1 OVER versus division opponents over the L3 seasons. NEW ENGLAND is 8-0 OVER after 2 consecutive games with TO margin of +1 or better over L2 seasons. NEW ENGLAND is 15-2 OVER after allowing 6 or more yds/play in their previous game over L3 seasons.

5* - [211] San Francisco 49ers -4 -101 vs New York Jets
The Niners are not happy. The Jets are not good. So you can see where this is going...SAN FRANCISCO is 9-0 ATS away off an upset loss as a r... [More]

Penn St @ Illinois - 12:00PM - Side and Total

It's Saturday morning and information is flying everywhere. I tend to be long winded sometimes, so I'll get to the point for this one.

Penn St is 0-10 Under Last 10 September games including 0-4 Under this year. But like last night, something smells fishy. So first going with:

5* - [111] Penn State OVER 41.5 -107 vs Illinois

Next, between the two teams i am more inclined to believe Penn St has the edge. Illinois has wins that look as bad as their losses. The only reason they're favored is because they're at home.
Penn St gets the outright win as a small dog today.

5* - [111] Penn State +2 -107 vs Illinois

Texas Tech @ Iowa St - Write Up and Trends

Last night couldn't have been better. A crushing victory by BYU in what was the single easiest wager of the season. Good times, good times.
Well that's history now. Time for another win. Today's action is on:
Texas Tech @ Iowa St is on my radar. TTech has blown through their first 3 games totaling a 151-30 point advantage over opponents. That's about to change.
Iowa St has had a similar start, but at least one of their wins was over state rival Iowa. And while Iowa St is tough at home, it may be just as difficult for Tech to focus considering they have a big game next week vs Oklahoma.
I like Iowa St @ home tonight as a small dog to win outright.
5* - [116] Iowa State +1.5 -103 vs Texas Tech PLAY ON - A home team versus the money line (IOWA ST) - with a good scoring defense - allowing 17 or less points/game, after allowing 6 points or less in 2 straight games.(24-2 since 1992.)

Hawaii @ BYU 8:00PM Start With Write Up and Trends!

So I went (2-1) yesterday between MLB, NFL, and NCAAF. Guess which one I lost?
That's right. Stanford let me down. And guess how well I do in revenge games? Well I don't know, but in my mind not bad...
Tonight's game has UH vs BYU. This one will be even easier than the NFL Cleveland winner I posted last night.
First of all, UH played one game on the road this year and got beaten badly 49-10. Not so good. But they did cover the spread. Also, BYU has done well in this role going (4-1) ATS L5 as a DD Home favorite.
BUT - BYU is 5-24 ATS (-21.4 Units) after a 2 game road trip since 1992.
So which way to go? Easy...
5* - [106] BYU -25.5 -107 vs Hawaii
BYU's Starting Qb is likely out. They're likely starting freshman Taysom Hill. BYU also hasn't defeated UH by more than 22 with much better teams than this in the last 5 years. I smell a rat. So it's time to hold my nose and follow the Cougars.
FYI - In July, the new Hawaii coach (Norm Chow) even added another layer to the intrigue, accusing BYU coaches of "a little bit of tampering" on ESPN’s Outside the Lines show.
Why bring this up? Longtime BYU assistant coach Norm Chow returns to Provo as a head coach for the first time, after having been passed over for the top BYU job way back in the late 1990s.

Stanford @ Washington - With Write And Combined 70-5 ATS Trends For...

This won't make any sense. Period. But this is my play. Take it or leave it. I admit that this is risky, but here we go. First the trends.

Cleveland @ Baltimore *5* Star Selection and Write Up

Record:(15-8)

Lost on MNF, but that's fine. Time to come back strong this Thursday night. For the record, the numbers make since but we'll see. The officials are back. Maybe.
Either way this one shouldn't be close:
5* - [101] Cleveland Browns +12 -105 vs Baltimore Ravens
That's right. The Browns. Why? The Ravens are coming off a home win vs the Patriots. This will be the let down. The Game After.
Also, the emotional letdown from the death in the Raven family coming off the big win over the Pats.
And also there's one other thing. I have a situation that I think goes into the let down:
Since '93, teams who defeat the Patriots at home and are then DD Home Favorites are (0-4) ATS in those 4 games.
So as you can see, this is a RARE play. Averages once every 5 years or so. The line is just too much IMHO.

NYY @ Toronto 7PM With Write Up

Ok. So I went (1-1) yesterday, but still made profit on the day. MLB record now sits at (15-3). All since swearing off MLB until the post season. Well, just one more:

[972] Toronto Blue Jays +1.5 -135 vs New York Yankees

Ok. So there is a little resentment from yesterday as the NYY got the better of me. Willing to bet that doesn't happen again. But then again, it is the Yankees.

The MasseyRatings say the Yanks will by one, 5-4.

That along with the fact that Nova hasn't gone more than 2 games at a time since the All-Star with out giving up at least 6 runs.

Morrow has also done well in this spot going 3-0 L3 after allowing 5 or more runs.

With all that said, I'm taking a shot with the Blue Jays on the Run Line.

NYY @ Minnesota Twins With Write-Up 1:00PM

The Yankees are playing the Twins today. And even though the postseason is still not here, I have to jump in. Once again.
Since the first time I said I'm not playing until the postseason, my record in MLB is (14-2). But only playing when it feels right is obviously working. Despite the fact I really don't want to play. Well somewhat don't want to play anyway. And the NFL isn't making it any easier.
So,CC is starting today on short rest. That always works out well. If you take the other team. A (1-4) record last 5 on short rest is nothing to write home about. Also, CC has given up 0 earned runs 3 times this year. He's (0-2) following the 1st two starts and this will be his 3rd time. I'm betting (literally) that nothing changes from that stand point.
Deduno starts for the Twins posting a (4-1) home record in 6 starts. The Twins are actually (5-1) in those starts and even better is the fact that Deduno has lost his last 2 starts. Better because he hasn't lost more than 2 in a row this season. And finally, Deduno has only been shut out twice this year. After being shut out the 1st time, the Twins came back in his next start for a 10-0 win.And once again, I'm betting (literally, once again) that nothing changes from that stand point.
Also, I'm not taking any chances. An extra run couldn't hurt, so the run line is in order. Therefore:
[918] Minnesota Twins +1.5 +120 vs New York Yankees

Take One And Call Me In The Morning

Allow me to first introduce myself as I have recently started posting on the forum here. The first selection was a winner and now we have another in action. And while the game is important, equally important is how the investment dollars are made.I don't play so much according to wins as according to profit.

There's been resistance to this from some of my contemporaries. But the way I see it, you can't spend a record. You can, however, spend profits.

And finally, one selection a day is all you need. Make sure you do your due diligence and the profits will follow. I'm not getting specific, yet. But soon...

Right now I just wanted to say 'Hi!'

And also to take a look around. Be back soon and we can talk about how I lay out my investment to double my dollars every 30 days.
