The NBA betting season is still young, but it is never too early to start looking at some of the top NBA MVP betting candidates. Here is a look at the top players so far that have caught the attention of hoops betting players and fans everywhere.

LeBron James, Cleveland

Simply put, “King” James has been unstoppable this season, leading the league in scoring with 27.9 points, while the Cavaliers have won 12 of their first 15 games. The Cavaliers have great NBA betting odds for the championship, but they must first make it out of the Eastern Conference, which is currently the property of the Boston Celtics. However, with James, the Cavaliers have the only player in the league that could drag a team to the Finals by himself.

Joe Johnson, Atlanta

The Hawks stormed out of the gate with six straight wins, and Johnson was their leading scorer in four of those victories. This quick start was a boost to Atlanta’s NBA betting chances, and Johnson will certainly get some MVP consideration. Johnson is seventh in the league in scoring with 23.4 points, and the underrated forward is finally getting some shine as one of the NBA’s most deadly players.

Chris Bosh, Toronto

Bosh was one of the best players on the USA “Redeem Team” that brought home gold from the Beijing Olympics this summer, and that confidence has carried over to the Raptors as “CB4” is putting up 27.6 points (second in the league), along with 10.9 rebounds. Bosh is still getting used to playing with Jermaine O’Neal in the post, and with Bosh’s leadership, the Raptors’ NBA betting odds in the East should improve.

Dwayne Wade, Miami

The NBA community is not giving the Heat a very good shot in the East this year, but no one can deny how much better they are when “D-Wade” is in the lineup. After a couple of injury-plagued seasons, Wade is back to his old self, putting up 27.4 points (third in the league) along with 7.5 assists and 2.5 steals, and the Heat will put up a good fight for the playoffs.

Amare Stoudamire, Phoenix

Stoudamire gets the nod over Orlando’s Dwight Howard right now, and there is not a better offensive big man in the game than Phoenix’s young Sun. Stoudamire’s 22.2 points is good 11th in the league, and the Suns’ 11-5 start has made NBA betting players think more about considering them in the loaded West.
