The Super Bowl halftime show has long been one of the biggest spectacles in sports, as well as a sportsbook favorite, and there are plenty of props for Super Bowl betting players to bet online. “The Boss”, Bruce Springsteen, will take to the stage for Super Bowl 43, and here is a look at the top five halftime shows in the history of the “Big Game”, and sports wagering players will be eager to see what is available in the biggest one-day event in the online sports betting industry.

Prince – 2007

It was fitting that the Purple one took to the stage at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, as it poured throughout his set (“Purple Rain” to end was just brilliant). Still, Prince tore the Super Bowl apart, with some calling it the best Super Bowl halftime show ever. However, Prince disappointed many online betting players by managing not to fall during his performance.

Michael Jackson – 1993

This was probably the first “big” Super Bowl halftime show, and who better to kick it off than the Gloved One himself? Jackson electrified the Rose Bowl by bringing out 3,500 children to sing “Heal The World”. This was before Jackson went a little, um, crazy, so online betting players didn’t really have that much to go on.

Janet Jackson – 2004

Who can forget the “wardrobe malfunction” in Houston featuring Janet Jackson, who was trying to raise publicity for an upcoming album that flopped anyway? Also, there was a streaker to kick off the second half, making this one of the most memorable Super Bowls in history, overshadowing a great game between New England and Carolina.

U2 – 2002

The first Super Bowl halftime show following 9/11, U2 performed in New Orleans, unfurling a banner with the names of the 3,000-plus people who died in the “Twin Towers”.

Motown – 1998

In San Diego, the NFL paid tribute to the legends of Motown as Smokey Robinson, Martha Reeves and The Temptations joined Boyz II Men and Queen Latifah on the stage. This probably would have been better suited for Super Bowl XL in 2006, when it was actually held in Motown (better known as Detroit). But it was great to see the old school (Temptations) mixed with the new (Boyz II Men).
