Super Bowl XLIII Betting – Cardinals Weary Of The Road

We’re just six days away from the big game so let’s focus on some Super Bowl XLIII betting. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a seven-point favorite according to the betting lines for the super bowl and the odds makers have it right.

The Arizona Cardinals have struggled on the road this season against teams with a winning record. They played well in Carolina twice, winning the second game in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs, but still had ugly losses at New York, at New England and at Philadelphia.

The Steelers have one of the best defenses in the NFL and as they say, if you are going to place a bet on the super bowl, then you should know that defense wins championships. The Steelers are the more experienced team and quite frankly, the better team. When you boil it down, the Steelers defense has a better chance of slowing down the Cardinals offense rather than the Cardinals defense slowing down the Steelers offense.

One of the main issues for the Cardinals will be the physicality and the toughness of the Steelers. They are a smash mouth team and the Cardinals have shown a propensity to be very soft away from home.

The Super Bowl betting line forces you to lay a touchdown on the Steelers but they are significantly the better team in this matchup.

The "ugly" losses at Philly, NE and NY were after they clinched their division. Arizona is a great team that simply let up at the end of the season (starting with the first Philadelphia game) because it won the division in a landslide. Anyone who thinks the Cardinals don't have a shot to win this game should probably stay away from betting the Super Bowl because they're absolutely clueless as to what's going on.

Does this mean Pittsburgh can't win or cover the touchdown? Absolutely not. The Steelers are a great team as well. But the whole point of this rant is that I find it unbelievable that the Cardinals aren't getting any respect at all.
