Even the biggest, baddest fighters in the UFC are falling to the weird flues circulating round the pond. Brock Lesnar, the reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion, has pulled out of his scheduled fight with Shane Carwin due to a sickness he hasn’t been able to shake for nearly a month. The Carwin-Lesnar tilt was intended to headline a card that already features the return of Tito Ortiz, who will fight fan favorite Forrest Griffin.
It’s hard to fault Brock here. You know that this guy loves to fight, so pulling out of this fight has to be a just call. He’s not injured. He’s not scared of Carwin, though we expect the fight to be a solid bout. The loss of Lesnar is certainly going to piss off a ton of fans who already bought tickets, but these things happen. People get sick.
November was supposed to be a mega month for the UFC. On November 14th, fight fans are going to see Randy Couture headline a card against Brandon Vera, who’s coming off a big win over Kryzsztof “The Polish Experiment” Soszynski. The card will also feature other featured fighters like Michael Bisping taking on Denis Kang, and Ron Pearson knuckling up against Aaron Riley.
The following week was the featured double-header featuring Lesnar, which will now only have one marquee fight. While the draw of Ortiz-Griffin would usually be enough to make a huge draw, especially with the media in a frenzy over the Ortiz-Dana White feud that is ever ongoing, the only other “big” fight features a welterweigh...

New York Giants come into this weekend’s matchup with Arizona with a bitter taste in their mouth thanks to Drew Brees and the Saints. They’ll be looking exact some revenge from their Week 6 shellacking by making a defensive statement against another one of the NFL’s high powered offenses, the Arizona Cardinals at Giants Stadium on Sunday at 8 PM ET.
Their 48-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints opened some eyes around the league and forced the question, are the Giants really as good as we think they are? Both fans and betting backers were left eating crown as they failed to cover as the 3-point road underdog.
Eli Manning was hurried all day and completed just 14 of 31 passes for 178 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Hakeem Nicks was the only bring spot as he caught five passes for 114 yards with one touchdown in the loss.
The Cardinals will be looking to build on last weeks BIG win over division rivals, Seattle Seahawks. They picked a good time to start putting it all together on offense and defense as this Sunday figures to be an all out battle, on national television no less.
For both teams, the key to success will be establishing a running game. You’ve got to believe that Tom Coughlin ripped apart his defense, or what was left of them after Drew Brees shredded them, all week in practice and they’ll be itching to take it out on Kurt and the Cardinals.
Hightower has been running the ball well for Arizona, which is a good thing s...

Steve Phillips wasn’t about to let David Letterman get all the hot, steamy spotlight action with young intern mistresses. The former manager of the New York Mets has taken a sudden leave of absence after his mistress, Brooke Hundley, stopped off at his house to confess her sins to Phillips’ wife with a well planned out letter. The fact that one of ESPN’s baseball analysts had an affair with an intern isn’t even the best part of the story. The juiciest detail is that Brooke Hundley would average about a 2.3 on a scale of a hundred.
Basically Phillips and Brooke slept together a few times, exchanged some dirty text messages and all the same boring crap that comes along when a wealthy and successful TV sports personality sexes an intern that majored in sociopathic behavior with an undergrad in “destroying marriages”. Truth be told, Phillips tried to end things with the former ESPN intern, and that’s when things got uglier than Brooke Hundley herself.
The young girl went off the deep end and started stalking Phillips’ sons on Facebook under a fake alias, bombarding Phillips with the standard “I LOVE YOU! YOU CAN’T LEAVE ME!” text messages. The camel’s back snapped in half when Phillips’ wife came home to find Hundley dropping off a letter confessing all the scandalous details of their sordid affair.
When Hundley saw Phillips’ wife, she jumped in to her car, backed straight in to a pole and then tore off across the front lawn. Stressed and terrifie...
