Injuries Forcing BetUS Sportsbook Odds to Shift in Week 3

The injury bug is always a huge factor in handicapping any NFL game.  There’s no doubt that injuries usually become the focal point for online NFL betting fans after about Wednesday of each week.

Not only do injuries seriously impact a team’s ability to win games, but they usually impact the online wagering spread.  I’ve listed some of the likeliest biggest movers, from an online football betting point-of-view, in Week 3.

BetUS online sportsbook betting fans should take a look at each one of the games in order to ascertain how the line might shift due to injuries.

Oakland Raiders online betting spread + 10 vs. Buffalo Bills online betting spread – 10 - - The online wagering spread actually hasn’t changed in this one, but I have to highlight it because the Raiders might be without both Justin Fargas and Darren McFadden for this game.  In other words, get on this right now NFL betting fans!  The Raiders have no shot against that Buffalo defense, on the road no less, without both Fargas and McFadden.  DeAngelo Hall should get burned by Lee Evans.  The Bills are one of the top teams in the AFC right now.  I love them even though the point spread is so high.

Carolina Panthers online betting spread + 3 ½  vs. Minnesota Vikings online betting spread - 3 ½ - - The Vikings will start journeyman Gus Frerotte instead of Tarvaris Jackson.  Hey, that’s a good thing.  Frerotte can at least read a defense and make a hot read.  Jackson isn’t ready and it showed during week’s one and two.  Frerotte should help the Vikes which means this line might go to Vikes – 4.

New York Jets online betting spread + 9 vs. San Diego Chargers online betting spread – 9 - -  The Chargers looked really good in Denver and the Jets looked awful at home in week 2.  Still, the Chargers might be without LT again because of his big toe issue.  Darren Sproles filled in admirably, but I have to say that the online betting odds should go down at least a ½ point by kickoff.  I like the Jets some to beat the point spread.

New Orleans Saints online betting spread + 6 ½ vs. Denver Broncos online betting spread – 6 ½ - - There’s just no way that this online wagering spread doesn’t shift to the Broncos favor after the Saints came out with their injury report yesterday.  Both starting cornerbacks, Randall Gay and Mike McKenzie, are listed as questionable.  Neither played in week two.  The Saints gave up over 300 yards passing to Jason Campbell.  What do you think Jay Cutler’s going to do to this team?  The Broncos could romp in this.

Pittsburgh Steelers online betting spread + 3 ½ vs. Philadelphia Eagles online betting spread – 3 ½ - - One of the marquee games in week three could take a huge hit if Big Ben can’t go.  He’s listed as probable on the injury report but even a hobbling Big Ben could seriously damage the Steelers’ chances.  The Eagles might go off a full point above the 3 ½ at – 4 ½ should Big Ben’s injury prove to be worse than first thought.  We should know by Saturday night at the latest.
