Everyone is scrambling to find a hint at what to do in the mega matchup for two NFC contenders this weekend when the Dallas Cowboys take their sorry butts down to Minnesota to face off against the Vikings. Who would’ve thought that both of these stacked teams would be starting out the season 1-3 SU? Not these guys:

To say that the Dallas Cowboys have been dreadful this season is an understatement. Yet, that’s what happens when you have the time tested, sideways leadership of Wade Phillips and Tony Romo at the helm. The Cowboys are not only 1-4 SU in their past 5 games, they’re 1-4 ATS as well.

You can’t just blame the offense for being lackluster in Dallas either. The defense has allowed 21.8 points per game, even though they’re ranked 12th in both passing yards and rushing yards allowed. To put it simply – numbers and names don’t seem to matter this with team because they flat out stink.

The Vikings are tight -1.5 favorites in this game, but everything about this team has changed with the Randy Moss acquisition. As Damon Durante breaks down, the Vikings lost a game against the Jets that was extremely winnable and Moss looked relatively in sync considering he had three whole days to learn the offense.

But which Vikings team are you betting on? Are you wagering on the team that exploded in the second half of Monday Night Football with three touchdowns, or the one that has stunk up the joint for the first month of NFL betting?

You can say the same thing about the Dallas Cowboys. They’ve almost always had slow starts with Romo under center (2-2 SU in 2009, 3-1 SU in 2008) but they’re regressing in a bad way and the Vikings defense is very, very good.

One thing we don’t know for sure is whether or not the Vikings can actually complete a comeback. If Monday Night was any indication, they can most certainly put themselves in a position to win a game and overcome dreadful performances, but you have to wonder if that was a 30-minute outburst from a team playing to its potential, or just a random blip on the radar.

It’s easy to be scared of Brett Favre’s elbow, but it’s just as nerve wracking to pontificate about Dallas’s sordid state of mind. If this is a battle of wills, as Irv Smith points out, then you can’t trust Romo at this point in the season.

Or can you?

That’s what “Inside The Lines” is here for. Damon Durante and Kenyon Rasheed break down all the intangibles, betting trends and give you the inside tracks you need to cram in to your skull before you attack the sportsbook in Week 6. Check out the video to see what our loyal crew from ITL has to say!
