If the surprising results of Week 10 are any indication of what’s to come, the remainder of the 2009 NFL regular season is going to be nothing short of a cardiac-challenging fight to the finish in almost every division, no matter the current records of each team.
This look at the Week 10 results across the league and glimpse ahead at all of the matchups on tap for Week 11 will give pro football betting enthusiasts an excellent idea of what to expect over the regular season’s final seven weeks.
Colts 35 Patriots 34
What a game NFL fanatics! The Colts remained unbeaten after pulling out a win in what looked like certain defeat, but the Patriots showed they are one of the top contenders to win this year’s AFC Championship.
It doesn’t get any easier for Peyton Manning and the Colts in Week 11 as they visit a well-rested Baltimore Ravens team that had a bye in Week 10 while the Patriots will likely bounce back from their heart-breaking loss at home against the Jets next week.
Bengals 18 Steelers 12
I called this ATS outcome perfectly for NFL bettors in the
BetUS Locker Room this week. The Bengals proved they are very real threat to win the AFC Championship in this game and will almost assuredly win at Oakland next week while the Steelers also have what should be an easy contest playing at Kansas City.
Titans 41 Bills 17
Three starts for Vince Young this season has meant three straight wins for the Titans heading into Week 11. Tennessee hits the road to take on Houston next week in what should be a thrilling Monday night while the uninspiring Bills look to avoid another loss at Jacksonville.
Saints 28 Rams 23
The Saints have shown some chinks in their armor recently but narrowly avoided a loss for the third straight week and should extend their unbeaten streak at lowly Tampa Bay in Week 11 while St. Louis hosts Kurt Warner and the high-powered Arizona Cardinals.
Packers 17 Cowboys 7
The Packers pulled off a big upset here, nearly shutting out Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys’ offense in their best defensive performance of the season. The Packers have another tough matchup on the docket for Week with the San Francisco 49ers visiting while the Cowboys will look to avoid another upset at home against their longtime NFC East rivals, the Washington Redskins.
Redskins 27 Broncos 17
Speaking of the Redskins, Washington pulled off another absolute shocker in this contest by man-handling the Broncos at home. Now Denver looks to avoid a fourth consecutive loss at home against their streaking AFC West rivals, the San Diego Chargers in what figures to be a knock-down, drag-out, free-for-all.
Panthers 28 Falcons 19
Carolina is playing excellent defense at the moment as they try mightily to secure an NFC wild card berth while the Falcons and young quarterback Matt Ryan hit the road in Week 11 looking to avoid consecutive losses when they take on a desperate New York Giants team looking to bounce back from four straight losses.
Dolphins 25 Buccaneers 23
The Dolphins won this contest but had to struggle to beat the Buccaneers in this game, which isn’t a real good sign as they take on a blossoming Carolina Panthers team on Thursday night. Tampa Bay looks to avoid consecutive losses in Week 1 with the undefeated Saints visiting the Sunshine State.
Vikings 27 Lions 10
Minnesota narrowly covered the spread in this NFC North battle and faces another weak team in Week 11 with the struggling Seattle Seahawks visiting. The Lions should have an excellent chance to win their second game of the season at home against Cleveland.
Jaguars 24 Jets 22
The inconsistent Jaguars showed up in this contest to narrowly beat the Jets and should be able to take down another AFC East team in Week 11 playing at home against the mediocre Bills. New York could be in big trouble in their rematch against what should be a focused – and angry – Patriots team on Sunday.
Chiefs 16 Raiders 10
10 fans showed up to watch the Chiefs beat the pitiful Raiders in this contest of pathetic ballclubs. The Chiefs and Raiders can mail in their respective scores for Week 11 with the Chiefs hosting Pittsburgh and Oakland playing host to the surprising Cincinnati Bengals.
Cardinals 31 Seahawks 20
It was business as usual for the offensive-minded Cardinals in this contest who should cruise to victory again in their Week 11 matchup at St. Louis. Seattle should just stay at home instead of flying all the way to Minnesota for a loss this coming Sunday.
Chargers 31 Eagles 21
What’s that sound I hear? Oh, I know. It’s Philadelphia Eagles choking – again. No wonder this team can’t win a Super Bowl. Philly should be able to bounce back from two straight loss at Chicago in Week 11, but you just never know with this team. San Diego hits the road for a division matchup at Denver in Week 11 that could turn out to be the NFL Game of the Week.
49ers 10 Bears 6
Mike Singletary’s crew got the win in this contest by picking off Jay Cutler five times and now hit to take on Green Bay in Week 11 while Chicago could lose at home against Philly.
Ravens 16 Browns 0
Sure the Ravens covered the NFL point spread as 11-point road favorites in this contest, but they certainly didn’t look very good in doing so. A similar effort in their Week 11 home matchup against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts will almost assuredly result in a loss while the lowly Browns will have a chance to get a ‘W’ on the road at Detroit
