LSU VS N. Carolina

This line has moved from LSU -2 to LSU +1.  Several weeks to go....anyone know why this line is changing?  I cannot find anything conclusive anywhere.  Early read was N Carolina 6 staters suspended for opening game with NCAA violations.  I was on this game early with LSU -2.

Whats up????

The only thing I can find is that most early line betting degenerates (like me) are down on LSU this year (not like me) and the money is coming in on the other side.  I am going to continue to watch and might drop some on LSU if I can get 3 pts or more.  GL

I live about 20 miles from chapel hill and as of  8/21 there have been no suspensions to report - looks like qb yates may split time with the up and coming freshman so that may have something to do with it- total opened at 40.5 at most shops and has dropped to 39.5 most everywhere so value may be gone there as well

I think the only reason it got up to -2 was because of the over reaction to the players that maybe suspended. There still is no clear news on them besides IF there is no decision on them from the NCAA by week 1 neither Little or Austin will play.

Only other thing that has happened, is a freshman D-Line has left the team to go to UCLA. Family things have something to do w/ it.

I jumped on the total since it was above 38, which was the # I wanted. Still think thats the best play

Seems Like almost everyones Grandma Likes The UNDER 40.....

Maybe Go the Other way with the Poor Offenses turning the Ball Over and setting up short fields ....

I'm not down on LSU.  They are loaded with talent, and really should win this game.  But I'm down on, like I have been since he was hired, the village idiot.  I mean seriously.  How much money can you really bet on this guy?

This game has LSU written all over it.  Think about it.  It's a non-conference matchup against a top 25 team in a pretty highly anticipated game.  This is just the kind of game that LSU likes to shine in.  Maybe they've underachieved these last couple of years, but this team is still very loaded with talent, and the great about LSU is the fact that they always play hard, they come out with the mindset that they're gonna kill people, no matter who it is.  They have that mentality that they're gonna fight till the end and make their opponent work to earn a victory.  Miles isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but one thing that can be said about him.....his teams never quit, they always play hard until the very end, they never give up.  And they still carry that tough swagger.  They'll be doing everything in their power to make a statement against a very good UNC team.  And I think they'll punch em right in the mouth.  I'm going with the Tigers.

The highest expectations in Chapel Hill since the Mack Brown days. Maybe the best defense in the country (6th last year, 9 returning starters, and 5-6 who could have gone pro). Outstanding potential in their receiving corps, young, athletic, big (no one less than 6' 2') and Greg Little, the go to guy. Offensive line should be much improved, as should LSU's, weaknesses last year for both team. UNC running game should be much better with Draughn back and healthy, and punishing Ryan Houston, 6'2' 245 lb. who ended up with 713 yds and 9 TD's for the season. Let's face it Carolina fans, it's all about T.J. Yates. And with highly touted Bryn Renner waiting in the wings, T.J., who has talent and experience, will have to step up his game. With this great defense and what should be a better than advertised running game, T.J. just has to limit his mistakes, ala Trent Dilfer for the Ravens when they won the Super Bowl in Tampa a few years back. Do that and UNC could be BCS bound especially with the Tech's (Va, Ga.) coming to Chapel Hill this year.

Everything I've seen and read, points to the better team coming from the ACC in this matchup with LSU. I like teams with the better defenses early on for obvious reasons and North Carolina may be the best in the entire country. I believe it was Herbstreit last year who said "this UNC defense plays like an SEC defense, fast, physical, athletic, and talented." Look for the Carolina "D" do throw plenty punches of their own and the LSU "O" line to be severely tested right out of the gate.

The bleak prospect of Jordan Jefferson @ QB might have something to do with it.

With all of those players gone for North Carolina I am going to have to go with LSU.

LSU's defense will not be as dominating as in the past due to the draft, however their offense should be much improved. I look for this game to be a 10-14 pt. LSU win.

UNC's defense is good for an ACC defense, but seriously guys, This aint no Boston College they gonna tangle with Week 1.

Under 39 will be your best bet. UNC's defense will keep LSU in check while LSU has one of the best secondaries in the nation, will make UNC too one dimensional on offense....

michael- Just the ACC? Come on man. Nation, and people like Herbie have said they play like a "SEC defense"

14pt win huh, we'll see.

bro, I hate to break the news to you but wait until the NFL Draft, that UNC defense will put 4 or 5 guys in the league and their defense is better than LSU's, if they have all of their guys playing in the game and they don't get suspended then I think you will see what I'm talking about

Whoever is betting on LSU should lock their number in now on PK or anything in the + side. This line will move the other direction once the news comes out about the new academic issues at UNC to go along with the investigation already in progress.

Press conf at 7:30 pm tonight.  Looks like something like 8 players being suspended from UNC.  Anyone who got LSU +1.5 will have something to work with when the new number comes out.

GL Mruso, but i am on the other side with this one.  I am not concerend with LSU "D", it is the offense that scares me again this year.

That is what I heard as well.  Opened my post this news and could not figure out for the life of me why the line was going the other way.  i am clearly overthinking this...
