The NBA offseason so far

When was the last time you had EVERY top team improve and make a big time signing?  Looking back at most of the recent champions...they didn't make any major moves during the offseasons and basically just added a few bench and role players to help out and fill in any voids.  This offseason has been the complete opposite of that

Lakers ----- Ron Artest

Magic ------ Vince Carter

Cavs  ------- Shaquille O'Neal

Celtics ------ Rasheed Wallace

Simply amazing.  I love it.

If the Celtics trade Rondo

It will be the worst decision in Danny Ainge's career.  He is a future all-star at the point guard position and showed this season that he has the ability to completely take over a game.  You can honestly say he is one of the best five point guards in the game today just about.

The bigger question is....

WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU GONNA GET TO REPLACE HIM?

Dwight Howard isn't close to being a great center

He's a big man that has no idea how to use his talent, and it's sad.  He has by far the most potential out of anyone in the league, however he has no idea how to play offense.  His defense isn't much, he can just jump through the building.  Not that he's in the right position all the time, he just is taller and can jump higher.  On offense, about 80% of his points come on dunks, or easy set up passes.

I would take quite a few others over him right now to start a team.

The Johnson's NBA Finals Discussion

First of all, I would like to apologize for some of the outbursts I had during the game tonight.  The reason behind it is that basketball has long been my favorite sport.  The Celtics have always been my favorite team.  There are very few things that irritate me more than watching a game I love decided by middle aged white guys in sweatpants with whistles.  I have reffed basketball quite a bit in the past, know the rules inside and out, and understand very well that the best compliment a ref can possibly receive is when someone says...."I didn't even realize you were on the court".  So far in the playoffs, there have been very few instances of this  happening.

The NBA got EXACTLY what they wanted for the NBA Finals.  This is the equivalent of having a Cubs/Red Sox World Series in 2004.  It's East vs. West.  It's 14 championships vs. 16 championships.  Kobe vs. the New Big Three.  Magic vs. Bird.  Millions of other analogies can go in there as well.  They were the two best teams during the regular season, and there is nobody else that deserves to be there more than these two great teams.

Since the NBA referees/officials/big wigs probably frequent these forums quite often based on their display so far this post-season, I will say this loud and clear.

PLEASE LET THE PLAYERS DECIDE THE OUTCOME OF THE GAMES!  CALL THE GREAT GAME OF BASKETBALL THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE CALLED.&n... [More]
