BALTIMORE RAVENS +1 TO THE BANK................LARGE

I know the line has a lot of people licking there chops, thinking....oh my vegas has let there guard down....by making a 9-0 (superstar mvp qb) vs a 5-4 team only a 1 point fave..........it must be chrismas, hannukah, eid ul fitr and diwali all at once.........STOP. This isnt a trap line its just a recognition from the oddsmakers that it could be windy, rainy plus its an outdoor stadium and Peyton has been throwing the ball 3 weeks in a dome. If your on Indianapolis best of luck but im all over the Ravens to hand these bunch of lucky idiots there first loss.

goodluck you may ne right but i CANT pass up this pk with peyton leading that lucky bunch. He shredded the Pats D and will do the same to the Ravens. I just dont see how the ravens can compete in this one. The way Indy came back and took it from the Pats was impressive. Dont think Balt will be able to score as easily as New England did.

i got the same post in another topic but i post here again
its good everybody have different opinions
Baltimore need this game while indy wanna keep their winning streak
recent games between two teams was all colts
i think its tough game to call situationally, ravens need this game bad
but colts are the better team , home field is important but i think Peyton plays well anywhere
this match at first impression looks baltimore win , thats my opinion
because

Colts struggled in last 3matches, honnestly if you guys watched the

game versus the Pats , Colts get hammered even they won, in other side

ravens offense did nothing much last night even they won 16-0.
If i have to bet 10000$ i will choose the Ravens
but i know Peyton will kill me.
tough match , its a pass for me...

Why when people are predicting scores they ALWAYS project their team they are backing to score 30+ and the other team to score less than 20???   So annoying......

Balty huge.  Indy has trouble against small tough running backs like Ray Rice.  Also, Ravens blitzing defense will force quick timed passes by Manning.

Baltimore will win this game, don't waste your money on the Colts this weekend.  I remember a few years ago Colts were -1 going into Green Bay and they got fucking STOMPED.

Not saying Colts get stomped, but I wouldn't touch the Colts here.

Remember last year when Eli couldn't throw shit in the game against Philly?  Apples and oranges, but I did see my boy throw a pair of clay pigeons in the dome the other night.

Thanks for the mention about the conditions.

I remember an unfeated Patriots team in 2007 who faced Baltimore mid season...Pats won by a miracle.

This line is fishy.  Vegas does not screw up.  This line tells me that Indy is an overrated 9-0.

I will not touch this game.  However, if i was forced into it, I would wait until public hammers Indy, and take Balt + 2 or 2.5.

SHO says:

In no way do I think it should be "large" on either side one elects to go with.  The Indy offence is anything but overrated.  When you can stick 3rd and 2nd string guys in and convert with consistency, your pretty damn good. No play for me.

Baltimore will lead and win by 6 points.
No, they will not go for 4th down on their 28 yards line. They will pick off Manning on the last drive.

BALT LARGE, very very LARGE

Brocknroll says:

I don't care what the weather is like, this game is going OVER.  Flacco is solid and although the Balty offense has been poor since the Denver game, I see them putting the ShitShow Cleveland game behind them(which the offense continued to sputter), and put up points against an Indy defense that gave up plenty last week.

I normally side with Baltimore's under but I think you are going to see a sleeping giant awake with this offense and although I have no opinion on who comes out the winner, I do think that both offenses will score.

Who better to exploit a weak secondary that hasn't been tested in a few weeks than Manning?  The questions will rise again because unlike the Browns, Manning will try to make a pass for more than 6 yds a play(nice job Quinn)

LOL at you all thinking that wind can be accurately predicted 6 days out, or basing a pick off of a weather forecast at all this far away from the game.

I got a bridge to sell you if you believe any weather forecasts this far out.

The wind would need to be blowing about 40 for the Ravens to have ANY shot at keeping this within a TD.

And BTW-

Wind projected at a brisk....5 mph.

I dont understand how anyone thinks the Ravens will hang with the Colts.
I just dont see it. I mean look at the past 2 years (when the Ravens had a better D) they got smoked.
Their secondary right now is terrible. Giving up to many big plays and way to many penalties.
Manning will be going deep often and early. If Manning puts up early TD's like he did against them the past 2 years then it takes the Ravens right out of their running game and force them to pass which if you havent noticed the past 2 weeks the O line isnt giving Flacco much time to throw the ball. The long ball is gone for them because he cannot stay upright.
what do you think mathis and Freeny will do?

I think the Ravens D is worse then it was last year and the year before and both times Manning shredded their D. So explain to me how this time will be different?

I mean shit, they scored 10 points against the Browns!!!!!!
THE BROWNS!!!!

That should tell you their O isnt clicking.

weather permitting this has the makings of a 3rd blowout in as many of years for Indy over the Ravens
Maydaymalone says:
11/18/09 09:20AM

I think Wayne, Garcon, Collie and Clark are more then enough toys for Manning to beat this secondary
He will pass for over 300 yards and win this game.

Hey do I wish I thought differently? of course. if I dont play this game will I root for the Ravens? of course.
I just don't see it happening.

Also if the Ravens O was playing better I might think twice about this game and just take the OVER. Ravens were OVER machines early in the year. Why? Cause they scored and they gave up points.

Ed Reed is one man, a great player, but just one man. he cannot cover Wayne, Garcon, Colly and Clark at the same time.

Fabian Washington is suspect and Foxworth is garbage (terrible signing by the Ravens)

There will be at least 3 Pass interference calls in this game against that secondary. They play sloppy, and need to play perfect if they have any shot at beating the Colts.

weather permitting again.

BRAVE? This has nothing to do with bravery. Suck it up dude(not the pipe either, ha,ha,ha).

Hear me out. I believe there is a way to win every battle so I have a plan to do just that. I am a big fan of something I learn in the Army called the 6 P's.......

Proper Preperation Prevents Piss Poor Performance!!!!!!

I'm sure the Raven "D" will come out and play inspired and with a full head of steam. So I'll take Baltimore in the first half getting maybe a half point.

Then in the 2nd half, with the Ravens "D" getting a little tired from trying to blitz manning who will quick release all game, I'll take Indy who most likely will only be a few points fav's there. Manny outscores the Ravens in the 2nd half and I win on both teams as I play to both of thier strong points.....

1) Ravens "D" at home fired up out the gate.

2) Manning patient and plodding to expose the tired Ravens "D" in the 2nd half.

So, I'll take both teams and let them smack each other around while I sit back and enjoy the winning. I'm not saying either team will win, but that my plan just might be the best course of action in this game.

Great write ups.  I agree with most of them, I do like your Colts pick.  I think that the way they are playing lately does indicate that they are due for a loss but I don't think its going to be Baltimore.  I know it was only Cleveland, but Baltimore is playing on a short week.  They couldn't put points up against Cinci either so have they been hiding their offense for two weeks? or are they just having problems moving the ball and more importantly scoring?  We know Indy can put up points against pretty much anybody, especially a Baltimore defence with some key injuries.  They're defence can't and won't win this game.  The thing with Indy is you can't stop Peyton you can only hope to contain him.  If Baltimore can't put up points, they won't be in this game.  Indy's first loss is going to come at the hands of Houston.

theflexer says:

Colts win this one. JUMP ON THE -1 before its to late.  They have won the 4 or 5 meetings in a row home and away.  The last 2 by 24 and 28.   Baltimore D is still solid but older and banged up.  . Peyton is better than ever at keeping his offense on the field chewing up clock.   Flacco having a little sophmore Jinx and the other teams have caught on to his long ball which made his stas so good last year.  Ed Reed still gets a pick 6 , the new kicker will miss a key FG.  Late prevent defense score by Ravens to little to late COLTS by 9
midnight_toker says:
11/18/09 11:01PM

I'll give you a reason  (no im not a flip-flopper)

"The Ravens secondary is one of the worse in the league and while the

team is fairly good at limiting teams to field goals in the Red Zone,

Peyton Manning is expected to pick the defense apart. There is a 66

percent chance that Manning has at least 2 passing TDs and he is

averaging 290 yards per simulation. The Ravens need to limit Manning to

no more than 1 TD and Ray Rice needs to have a huge game with at least

125 rushing and receiving yards. If Rice can dominate and the Ravens

can keep Manning to just 1 TD they are 74 percent favorites."

Colts projected to win by 7 points.  They are favored to win 57% of the time, Baltimore wins 42% of the time.

Also, the Colts own Baltimore in recent meetings.

This is why I'm laying off this game.  Both teams have good reasons for betting to bet them.  Logic says, take the Colts.  But logic can = in the NFL.

Proceed with caution.

midnight_toker says:
11/18/09 09:19PM

That is misleading.  Browns defense was fresh with 2 weeks to rest and

game plan for Ravens.  They played them as hard as they possibly could

and still lost by double digits.

Indy has trouble against pound-it, between-the-tackle, up the middle, up the gut  RB's like MoJo Drew, Frank Gore and RAY RICE.  I fully expect Ray Rice to have a good game, and that could tip the scales in favor of the Ravens.

vs 49ers:   Frank Gore  --  18 carries, 91 yards, 1 TD

vs Jags (week1)  MoJo Drew -  21 carries, 97 yards 1 TD

vs Ravens:  Ray Rice --  ??   ??   ?????

Rice should post solid numbers and could tip the scales in favor of a Baltimore win.

Vegas knows this game will not be easy for the Colts.  Proceed with caution and maybe your better off not betting this game.

on a side note:

Baltimore will be without their best pass rusher, Terrell Suggs and will be replaced by rookie Paul Kruger (6-4, 260lbs).

NFL Season: 53-43-4

I'm taking my annual NFL road trip this weekend to Baltimore.  Friends and I made the plans earlier this year.  All Giant fans, we never thought the Colts would be undefeated and I didnt think the Ravens would be struggling BUT I couldnt agree with your write more.

I pictured this game to be Colts -6.5, okay maybe hoping, so I could jump on Baltimore and enjoy a good underdog cover this Sunday.  Unfortunatly the Colts -1 has taken me by surprise.

I do think Vegas is praying on a public perception that the Baltimore defense is great when most of us unerstand its not what it once was BUT again, the potential for an impressive game is there.  Sunday is Baltimore's (and Ray Rays) opportunity to prove they can still step it up.  They will come to play.

Also, do not be fooled by Monday Nights game plan and the lack of points against the Browns.  Running up the score was never their goal, they wanted to work on their running game and control the clock, which kinda happend.  And dont over look that they did shut out a professional football team (professional..ehh debatable) but for the sake of arguement a shut out is impressive, especially Monday Night on the road.

The colts will also have to deal with the challangs of playing outdoors under expected inclemate weather (sucks for me too).  All and all, its tough to go undefeated and this could be a trap game.  I would have felt much better at +6.5 but now Ill be forced to lose big or enjoy a very very tough cover.

The biggest key to beating any good quarterback is pressure.  So the question is:

Can Baltimore put pressure and/or sack Manning?

If you can pressure him and/or hit him, he becomes as normal as the rest.  If not he will eat you alive!  Unlike, when you take the Browns and their rookie quarterback Quinn.  He just isn't mature enough to read defenses like Manning can!

BAL still covered the spread against CLE

IMO BAL line starts around -4 than the books figure that IND fans will jump all over it so they set it at -1.  Why.  First it increases BAL money that off sets the public side which we know is Manning, and it sets the bar for the IND side.  Cash flow.

Skubishack says:

I'll be playing on both teams strengths....

Take Baltimore in the 1st half since they will come out at home all fired up and attempt to lay the wood on Manning.

Then in the 2nd half take Indy who will have survived the Ravens best shots and Manning will begin to take advantage of a tired Ravens defence after it shoots its load trying to rough him up in the first half.

Seeing how these two teams have played in recent games, this is the safest bet to me.

I'll let the rest decide who is gonna win ATS for the whole game. I'll play the ATS in halfs and msot likely win on both.

I feel that the key to this game is for Indy to not abandon the running game, keep trying and keep the Ravens guessing. The Colts just might win this game by running the ball. Just maybe.

If the Ravens can force Manning to throw MORE than the Colts want him to, It might work in the Ravens favor since Manning can be a robot at times and not see the INT's coming. The Ravens must score on "D" in this game, maybe twice, in order to win. Flacco has been in a slump lately. Short fields would help him greatly so getting T.Overs is key for the Ravens in this game.

One thing about Manning that always made me dislike him is the way he shakes his head walking off the field after an INT as he looks at his receiver that he was throwing it to, like he could never be blamed for throwing a pick so it must have been the receivers fault ALWAYS.

Robots don't make mistakes... Do They?

Lets see what do we really think the Ravens are this year... Its really hard to say who they are because in my opinion they have yet to even find their identity... The season started out with a top offense and lots of passing with their defense struggling all season and giving up alot of points especially in the passing game. The Ravens have not quite figured out who or what they are and what they want to do as a team week in and week out, its obvious their defense is no longer capable of what it used to be with Washington/Foxworth at CB and now with key injurys to their defense things will only get worse. The Ravens sputtered in the two games before the Browns giving up two early touchdowns in the 1st quarter and then they decide that maybe they want to play football in the 2H their offense has been non existant Joe Flacco is running out of WRs to throw the ball to because Mason can only do so much and they never picked up a speedy WR. Right now the main reason the Ravens are even having a mediocre season is THANK GOD FOR RAY RICE

If you were a Ravens fan you would know how bad things look for them this week so stop playing dumb or quit being fake.

Oh did we forget we will now have a field goal kicker that is an "UNKNOWN" as far as proving himself in the NFL. He cant be much worse then Haushka though he was as bad as it gets.

Let me start off by saying that I am a DIEHARD RAVENS FAN!

however, it appears there are either some Ravens Homers or Colts haters picking the Ravens to win this, but let's be honest, if our team was 100% healthy we would more than likely still get blown out by the Colts. They have the Ravens number PERIOD!

Add to that from top to bottom, John Harbaugh has shown he really has no F'ng clue what he's doing, he can't manage the clock, he has piss poor judgement of talent and when to put certain players in, for instance, after week 4 Ladarius Webb should've not only been returning punts and kicks but starting at CB or at least nickel back. The 2nd round pick Kruger has had about 4 snaps since the begin of season, Chris Carr is an absolute bum, along with everyone else in the secondary not named Ed Reed.

Our LB core outside of Ray Lewis is complete TRASH, except Jarret Johnson as well, but the other guys do not belong in a Ravens uniform. This team started out underacheiving since day 1 against the chiefs were in the 4th quarter the Chiefs had the lead.

I think the defensive reputation Bmore has had the past 10 years has clouded the judgement of odds makers all season long, this defense is SOFT, on top of that Flacco seems to be regressing, mainly because he can no longer trust his piss poor WR corps which Ozzie so arrogantly refused to upgrade in the preseason. Our Dline with Suggs is awful, now they are without him, and believe it's not like there are these magical studs on the Ravens team just waiting for the Colts game to play for real, please folks, if they had it in them they most certainly wouldn't be only 5-4 now would they?

Colts by AT LEAST 10 points.

FYI - my post is not meant to bash any other opinions, or sound like I know everything so please do not take offense to any of my post. I know some people get pretty passionate about why they believe their picks are right is why I say this and it's not my intention to anger anyone, i'm new to the board and enjoy reading all the posts here!

GL to all!

LOl sorry I had to bro, I get so tired of explaining to people who give me crap about being a Ravens fan "what happened to  your Defense man?" I tell them, this was setup to fail a good 3 or 4 years ago. Ozzie and our D still get praise from the ridiculous invincible Defense from our Superbowl win in 2000. Little do outsiders know this defense has not been anywhere remotely close to that for quite some time now. A lot of that was just covered up with Rex Ryan who quite frankly is a genius like his Dad Buddy at making bad look good, and good look great!

Well Rex is gone now and the Truth hurts like a beeyatch, trust me, I wanted to win that Vikings game so bad, and the Pats and at least one of the Bengals games, but watching this Ravens d as a true fan is as Sad as Mike Tyson get beat up and humbled by the likes of Buster, holyfield and Lennox Lewis. It's just sad! Winning some money will help ease the pain though!

At the end of the day Vegas is not crazy, but to think they don't get it wrong from time to time is insane. They are humans just like us folks, if I only have to use one example that should convince you of this game, just think a few weeks back when Vegas had the Ravens going into Cincy as a 3 point favorite, i'm a die hard Ravens fan and I couldn't get to my Sportsbook fast enough to bet BIG on the Bengals to win AND they were giving me points? WOW that was easy money, I bet with my brain and not my heart, I have NEVER missed a Ravens game and I can tell you all reading right now, we will NOT beat the colts and I will be shocked if we lose by less than 10 points, but regardless, we will NOT beat the Colts.

I am just waiting for the line when we go to Green Bay as I fully expect Rodgers to carve up our extremely pathetic Secondary, and hopefully this will convince Ozzie to draft some big physical CB's with speed to get this D back to it's dominant self, a true pass rushing DE wouldn't hurt either.
