Alabama and the hook

What do you guys think about Bama -13.5 -120 (w/the hook)?  I've been on a terrible run this college football season   I'm new to this forum and just looking for some friendly advice.  T

I'm going pretend it's a new season 0-0

Oh yeah, taking Florida St. +3 tonight too.....I just can't help myself.

I totally disagree with Bigdaddy. Buying a hook has absolutely nothing to do with capping abilities, it has to do with being smart. He obviously doesnt wager real money or he would know this.

Thanks tideman.....yeah, I'm really just getting my feet wet and I appreciate any constructive advice.

I won on Florida St. last night.....woo hoo !!  Thought it was over after the first half.

I'm looking at Friday's game and the Saturday card now.  I'll be back in a little bit to see what people think of the selctions.

For once, I disagree with Tideman (though not his comment on capping abilities). My experience is that buying a hook is seldom worth the money in the long run. Do you really think lines are that close to accurate (even on Big numbers like 3, 4 and 7) that it is worth double the vig? Now way I'd do it on 14. Bama will handle the Vols. They play disciplined defense (unlike UGA) and Crompton will revert to form.

You need to take Tennessee in this one. Alabama is the most complete team in the nation  right now, and the rack up major points on most teams... But that won't happen against Tennessee. They have a good defense, dispite their previous record, and are a better team than South Carolina, when they want to be. They will want to be this Saturday.

Yeah, I probably should've waited on this game.....there are much betters games to be on....But that's too late I'm locked in at -13.5.

It's simple, Tennessee is going to try to expose the Bama secondary which ranks 23rd overall and stay away as much as possible from that 5th ranked rush defense..  On the other side, Bama will try to pound the ball all day long....probably 35-45 times.  If Bama can contain in the secondary and cause a couple turnovers....I see no reason why Bama can't win this game 31-10.  I agree with you Swamp, Tenn does have an above average defense......But I do hope you're wrong on the result
