Round of 64 scoring wayyy down

Teams scored just 64.5 points per game in the NCAA tournament in the opening round. That's the lowest scoring Round of 64 since since the shot clock arrived in 1986!

Could Harvard pull through for bettors again?

Harvard will try to become the third No. 14 seed to advance to the Sweet 16 when it plays sixth-seeded Arizona on Saturday in the third round of the NCAA Tournament in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Crimson are 10.5-point dogs while the total is 133.

Harvard covered as 10.5-point pups already when it defeated New Mexico 68-62 in the second round.

Arizona looked impressive in its second-round game by defeating Belmont 81-64 and covering as
4.5-point favorites.

Both Harvard and Arizona look to cater to bettors of the under. The under is 7-1-1 in Arizona's last nine
non-conference games and 9-2-1 in its last 12 neutral site games. The under is 4-1 in Harvard's last five games
versus a team with a winning percentage above .600.

Saint Louis on ATS and under hot streak

The Saint Louis Billikens are 3.5-point favorites versus the Oregon Ducks this evening in a battle for a birth in the Sweet 16.

Saint Louis was impressive in its opening game versus New Mexico State. The Billikens won 64-44 and easily covered as 9-point favorites.

Saint Louis has been a good bet this season, posting a 22-10 ATS (against the spread) mark and is 18-3 ATS over its last 21 games following a win.

Saint Louis ranks 15th in the country in opponent scoring (57.7 points per game) and that stingy defending has it playing under the total in each of its last five games. The total for tonight's game is 124.

Tip off time is 7:10 PM ET.

Gonzaga looks for stronger effort after Thursday scare

The Gonzaga Bulldogs can consider themselves lucky after surviving a Thursday night scare at the hands of
16th-seeded Southern.

Gonzaga won SU (straight up) 64-58 but disappointed bettors as it failed to cover as hefty 21.5-point favorites.

It doesn't get much easier today for Gonzaga as it faces ninth-seeded Wichita State as 6.5-point faves.

The Shockers were 4-point dogs Thursday versus Pitt and cruised to an easy cover with a 73-55 win.

Gonzaga is 12-3-1 in its last 16 following an ATS loss.

The game tips off at 8:40 PM ET.

Louisville looks to appease bettors once again

The Louisville Cardinals are red-hot ATS (against the spread).

Louisville is 6-0 in its last six NCAA Tournament games. The Cardinals also boast an ATS record of 8-0 in their last
eight games overall.

Louisville's task today will be to cover as 11-point favorites versus Colorado State. The Rams are mired in a bit
of an ATS cold spell and are just 2-6 in their last eight games overall

The over is an enticing play here as well and is listed at 134 as of 9:20 AM ET. The over is 7-0-1 in the Rams'
last eight overall and 5-0 in the Cardinals' last five overall.

The game tips-off at 5:15 PM ET today.

VCU shoots for third-round upset

Virginia Commonwealth looks to extend its fantastic ATS (against the spread) NCAA Tournament record today against
Michigan. The Rams are 12-1 ATS in their last 13 March Madness games.

VCU is a 3.5-point underdog for this afternoon's matchup.

The Rams opened the tournament in impressive fashion on Thursday night. VCU played textbook Shaka Smart defense to force 21 turnovers and rolled over Akron 88-42, easily covering the 7.5-point line.

The Wolverines won their opening-round game 71-56 over South Dakota State. Michigan is just 3-10 ATS in its last 13 games overall, but covered as 11.5-point favorites in their tournament opener.

The third-round matchup tips off at 12:15 PM ET.

Odds are in to beat the Heat

The Miami Heat extended their winning streak to 25 games after dismantling the lowly Detroit Pistons 103-89 on Friday night.

So who will end Miami's streak? Or, will the Heat win out for the remainder of the regular season? has updated odds on when Miami's next loss will be:

March 24 vs Charlotte +1200
March 25 at Orlando +350
March 27 at Chicago +400
March 29 at New Orleans +800
March 31 at San Antonio +250
Any game in April +300
No losses the rest of the regular season +1200

Miami's last loss was a 102-89 defeat at Indiana on Feb. 1.

Blue Jackets open road trip in Nashville

The red-hot Columbus Blue Jackets open a four-game road trip tonight in Nashville.

The Jackets are +136 underdogs despite their recent stellar play, which includes winning eight of 10 overall.

Columbus extended its franchise-record point streak to 12 games Friday with a 5-1 triumph over the Calgary Flames.

This road trip should prove whether the Jackets are contenders or pretenders. Only two of their previous 12 games during this streak have been away from home.

Nashville looks to make it two wins in a row after ending its four-game losing streak with a 5-3 victory over Calgary on Thursday.

Alexander Edler gets two games for charging Mike Smith

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Alex Edler has been suspended two games for an altercation with Phoenix Coyotes
goaltender Mike Smith on Thursday.

Edler was slapped with a five-minute major for charging in the second period of Vancouver's 2-1 victory.

The Canucks are on the road versus the Los Angeles Kings at 4:00 PM ET this afternoon and are +129 underdogs. This will be the first game that Edler has missed all year.
