CrazyMilkMan's NBA Saturday

1-3 Friday. Still trying to get the hang on the shortened season with packed schedule. I'm a perfect fade material as it is. 18-25 YTD. Here's for Saturday.

Denver Nuggets +5.5
Denver and the Lakers tangles in Colorado on a rematch the next day back. One thing is sure about tomorrow's match and that is Kobe will torch them by say 25+ points. In last year's match (after the Melo trade, the Nuggets managed to fend off the Lakers in the second half. What I fear about home-and-home series such as this is that the visiting team can and will most likely look ahead to playing at home if they are not in a favorable position. I'm leaning the Nuggets plus the points still giving a bit value on the number of games the Lakers' short rotation (huge minutes for starters, average to low number for the bench). I also like how Denver competes and how TY Lawson vastly improved as a point guard for coach Karl. I see a close game here where the Nuggets will most likely play catch up and nudge a cover. I know Lakers are really tough despite how unfavorable the scheduling has for them at the beginning but I just like how gritty the Nuggets are.

Indiana Pacers -2.5
I hate it when a team getting 60+% in consensus still managed to drop a full point. Both teams are playing 3 in 4 with the Pacers forced to play extra minutes at home against the stubborn Cavs team. Despite that and Pacers' road woes, I still like them to win this game. Detroit have the size to match ... [More]

CrazyMilkMan's NBA Thursday

6-7 Wednesday. 16-17 for the season. A bit of a rough start but we don't stop and just keep on trying. Going to be a bit more conservative with the plays now.

New Jersey Nets/Orlando Magic
Both teams are looking at a 4 in 5 in their schedule and it would be interesting how it will all play out. No play on both side and total. 181 is pretty close to the total I expect to come out. Nets is a good 80 point team while Orlando can dish out 90-100. Again, it should be pretty close. I'd love to get on the OVER but something about the scheduling is bugging me. The same for the side play. I feel the Nets can somehow cover if Orlando decides to field their bench (given say a blow out). I don't think Orlando is there yet.

San Antonio Spurs +1.0
SAS/HOU OVER 197.5
Now I'm a Spurs believer again. I somehow underestimated them but it seems like they really do well specially now that the core looks really healthy and they are getting enough support from the other guys. Don't get me wrong here, Houston has a lot of promise but with the young guys and can go toe-to-toe with the Spurs (given the schedule). I feel confident with the San Antonio play. They have started their season with showing really good offensive execution and they made it look like they have not missed a step. Spurs and Rockets are very offensive teams and so I see a lot of scores dropping from both ends. Head-to-head stats tells us that both teams figures to around 200+ points from la... [More]

CrazyMilkMan's NBA Wednesday

3-2  Tuesday. 10-10 so far. Kings layed an egg in the 4th and the Jazz never had a chance. Many games to be played on Wednesday.

Indiana Pacers -3.5
Take it now! I have no idea what the linesmaker are smoking when they got this line. Pacers are hands down the better team and they can now really defend against perimeter teams with their size and speed.

Miami Heat -10.0
MIA/CHA OVER 185.5
Heat easily gets 90-100 points over the cats and the home team gets around 85ish for the total to easily flirt near the over. I'm taking my chances despite the Heat playing back to back and the third one in four days. Kwame's exit forced the Cats to play a faster and half court set using their ranged "centers" for pick-and-pops. Miami never really had good center to begin with and adjusting their lineup to match the undersized front court of the Bobcats just made it even better for them. DJ Agustin will most likely play since the ankle injury can be taped. Miami also has a tendency of allowing teams to come right back even after building say 20-30 point lead  (as seen in their last 2 games and games from last season) so you the Cats will most likely complete their end and score at least around 80.

Washington/Atlanta
I'm not sure if I'm ready to back this Wizards team on the road after a horrible record last season. The side play is almost a toss up. Wizards isn't a very good defensive team despite having the size and athletic... [More]

CrazyMilkMan's NBA Tuesday

3-5-1 Monday night. 7-7. Not the start I'm looking for but we still have a long week ahead. Let's do this!

Atlanta Hawks -5.0
Hawks have guard problems in their rotation but I still fancy them over the Nets. I know it's early in the season but IMO, fatigue can still get the players. I'm going ahead and make use of back to back as a reason to go against the Nets. All three big contributors for their win over the Wizards went on to register almost 36+ minutes and they should feel it against a Hawks team that will frustrate you with their pace and defense. Not really crazy with this play as Jersey actually can take the fight to the supposedly better Hawks team. They did split last season 2-2 with the home team getting away with the win and cover.

Miami Heat
Okay this one should be tricky. If the spread is anywhere above 8.5-points, I seriously will give the Celtics a shot to cover. Boston is the only other team who can dictate Miami the tempo of the game and they still play really good defense with or without Pierce. Anything below 6.5 is a play on Miami, anything in between is most likely a pass.

Minnesota Timberwolves +6.0
Both teams playing back to back and both off a narrow loss. T'Wolves battled a fast paced game with the minutes spread around evenly (except for Beasley and Love). Bucks' starters logged heavy minutes and had to grind it out against Charlotte. I'm looking at possibly a close game here with the poi... [More]

CrazyMilkMan's NBA Monday

4-2. Trying to keep things short and sweet. If you have any Q's just fire away.

Washington Wizards -4.5
Nobody should seriously wager on this game. Degenerates get a pass though. Both teams figures a close game here but I feel the Wizards having the home court plus better all around guys in their roster gets the edge. Okur rejoins former PG Williams in New Jersey but won't be enough to cover up for Lopez' well rounded contributions. Nets will have to figure out to play with almost half of their roster new to the team. I'm quite excited to see what role Stevenson gets in this team. Wizards struggle against teams with an above average (or better) guard but looking at their past head-to-head against Nets figures that they'll be fine. A year in for the young Washington team should benefit them well. I'm looking at a 6-point or so win here for the home team.

Milwaukee Bucks -3.0
This hurts me the most. I love my Cats but if their best player is named Corey Magette then something's wrong. Look to fade the Cats the rest of the way.

Orlando Magic -5.0
Great spot to pick up the Magic team who was barely a match for Durant and Co. They barely field any mileage on their starters and it looked like a preseason game than anything else. Rockets got good results in the preseason but I see them having a hard time playing Dwight. Looking at a good opening home game for this Florida team.

CrazyMilkMan's NBA Sunday

Same shit as last year. You guys know the drill.

Boston Celtics +5.0
I have no idea why the line went up from 3.5. I was all for the Knicks but given 5 points, I'm pretty confident with the road team at this point. The shortened preseason and time to practice is really a big issue come the regular season. Team Chemistry is built up as the team play with each other. Knicks just added Chandler and will have a couple more different variations in their rotation with the way they went about the off season. Boston is back and although they'll be without Jeff Green (who really didn't do much for them) I'm pretty confident they can continue their winning ways over the Knicks. Brandon Bass is a great upgrade in their front court rotation. He's an underrated player who i feel will be a big contributor off the bench. Anyway, defense will spell the difference here. Boston aged another year but I don't see their game changing one bit. KG and everyone else looked healthy during the preseason games and that's reassuring. I don't really expect Boston to run away with the win here. Chandler averages 13 points and 14 boards against them last season (as a Mavs) on 80% shooting clip in 34 (average) minutes of action. Boston takes this in a close match. Them covering the spread will probably be the worst case scenario here.

Miami Heat -4.0
Get them now. I still see a lot of 4 and 4.5 here and there and will probably be 5 or 5.5 come game time. I don't really ge... [More]

CrazyMilkMan's NBA Pre-Season Monday

11-4 in the preseason. 3-1 last night. I thought the Heat would slow down after banging Orlando hard. Here's for Monday:

ATL/CHA UNDER 183.0
Anyone thinking of betting a side here is probably high. Atlanta will probably be fielding bench players to have a better look at their unproductive bench. My Cats have nobody playing but looking forward to see Kemba Walker ball. I don't see much going on both ends of the floor. Cats are depleted, undersized and has no one to go to yet. Atlanta is thinking of utilizing the other guys and that's crazy because their starting V is already offensively challenged. Everything points at the UNDER. If you want a side play, go toss a coin. Heads for Cats, Tails for Atlanta. Tell me what you got!

Utah Jazz +6.5
I always like how Utah plays. They always comeout playing hard. Portland will be playing without Aldridge and so G.Wallace will most likely play the 4 (but given how he is, management will probably limit his playing time not to get banged up before the regular season begins). I don't think Crawford will play and so more time for the third stringers to mix in with the likes of Felton, Batum and probably the older front court like Camby and Kurt Thomas. Jazz will most likely play Devin Harris down to Al Jefferson. Hopefully they allow Enes Kanter who had a good Euro run to shine here.

Los Angeles Lakers -3.5
Los Angeles Pride.

CrazyMilkMan's NBA Pre-Season Sunday

I should be on the NFL side capping but what the heck. 3-0 so far on Saturday pre-season games with Warriors and the OVER pending.

Toronto Craptors +4.5
It's only in the Pre-season that you seriously consider backing them. I think Pierce and Rondo will not be playing. Ray Allen will pretty much get 25+ minutes and KG will be used sparingly. I have no idea who the Celtics have outside those guys. Taking the team that will most likely field their starting V.

Miami Heat -7.5
Miami's two best players plays well under this circumstances. Barely no defense, players not really taking the games seriously and you'll pretty much be allowing break aways from time to time. Not really a good recipe if you allow Bron and Wade to go wild. They'll probably be betting against each other on who scores the most points. Only putting half a unit here since this is still the preseason and I have no real idea whether the Magic goes hard on this one.

Oklahoma City +2.5
Will add an extra unit on this one. I have this cool feeling that KD will continue his scoring exploits from where he left off. That's about it.

CrazyMilkMan's NBA Pre-Season Saturday

Went 2-3 last night with no luck on the 3 sides. Here's for Saturday. Erased my writeup earlier so doing a quick one on each:

NY Knicks -5.5
I expect Melo and Amare to play a little here. I don't see much going on for the Nets not unless Brook Lopez decide to pull a Spencer Hawes in this game (man he looked unstoppable against Washington). Pre-Season is more of a scoring game and who ever loses on scoring loses the game, lucky this is the only thing the Knicks know.

Houston Rockets -2.0
No idea who the Spurs will field but knowing them they barely will put any mileage on their old guys. More reason to back an unhappy Houston team.

Minnesota Timberwolves -5.0
I'm just excited to watch this young team and with the amount of talent here plus Rick Adelman at the helm, it sure would be interesting how this will play out. More of a gut play here than an actual handicapped game. You gotta love how the home team looks on paper.

Golden State Warriors -4.5
Warriors scores more than any body regardless of who you field so I'm confident they have no problem getting the points up. Marcus Thornton and Tyreke will be the prime suspects for Sacramento and I think they'll be used sparingly tonight to have a look at the other guys.

CrazyMilkMan's NBA Pre-Season Friday

Warming up to the regular season games. Nothing much to be used to cap these games other than player expectations and projections. With no real Idea who the coaches will field and for how long makes these pre-season game a shot in the dark. We degenerates just won't back down on these things though. Small wagers building up to the regular season, fellas.

Washington Wizards +1.5
Both teams barely made any changes in their roster. I expect the younger Wizards team to take this preseason game a little more serious the 76ers. Last season, both games in Washington went to OT and was decided by a basket. This could've have been a different play if it were in Philly. I expect John Wall to shine here. Leaning on the OVER.

Indiana Pacers +3.0 and UNDER 184.5
This is one pre-season game I'm surely watching. It's only been days since Rip joined the Bulls and it would be interesting to see how his role plays out. Pacers looks really good on paper. They signed George Hill and David West to add that perimeter scoring they lack. I like the Pacers here because they will be the better team in the event that the Bulls' decide to not go hard and build Rose's form slowly. Both teams are scrappy and so the UNDER play.

Detroit Pistons -4.0 and UNDER 193.0
More units on the UNDER than the side play. This game will be baaaaaad! Pistons is the only other team the Cavs managed to beat last season and the Pistons were stronger then. I'm not sur... [More]
