All games went UNDER yesterday. And I say Butler did play their hearts out against Syracuse in CBB. Anyway, here's for Friday. Do tell me what you guys think. Had a horrible Thursday fading myself. LOL.
I like the Cats to win tomorrow night but not as a double digit home fave. They are very capable and Washington sucks. The only thing that's keeping me from betting on this one is that the huge line and the fact that the Cats needed an extra period to win and cover in Washington with their best player out (Blatche). But if I have to make a pick I say Charlotte -10.5
Utah Jazz at -5 looks like a dead give away. Not a trick line here people, just so other would think right away. Pacers playing really good basketball their last 6 games (won 5 of it and on a 4 game streak) and with the Jazz not being your best road team explains the medium line. Jazz is definitely the better team here and could play with the Pacers' front court. I'd say another Jazz blowout in the first 3 quarters with the Pacers rallying in the later half of the 2nd half.
Orlando Magic won't be a 15 point home fave for nothing. Pups let anyone screw them over like the Nets were a couple of months back when they were even made a 16.5 dog. Probably got nothing much to play but with the Magic not even trying should be enough to cover the spread. Minnesota is just some wack team right now. Should be over from the get go.
The play for the Nuggets@Raptors game depends on Hedo Turkoglu's ... [More]

Chicago Bulls -1
Houston Rockets -6.5
Portland Trailblazers -3
If you're looking for reasoning, I capped the game the other way (well except for the Clippers) to win. Fading myself and so I end up with all 3 home faves for today.

Memphis looks very easy tonight. They're on a little 2 game streak and they need all the wins (and losses from Portland) as possible to get a shot at that 8th and final spot. Memphis also owned the Warriors the 2 games they had this season not to mention Zach Randolph really doing it all for them with Gay and Mayo really playing well. Warriors doesn't really have much to play for. Thing here is that they'll hella miss big Marc Gasol out there but hey they are just playing the Warriors (and possibly without Monta). So the play tonight is none other than...

Okay, I need positive vibes right now and it would be great if the Clipjoint gets the cover. Went 3-0-1 Tuesday anyway got a good look on our Wednesday cards and here's how it went. AGAIN, teams in bold are my play.
Let's begin. I'm not planning on betting on all the games on board tonight but I see a good value on the Green Men a -4.5. Denver is just bad playing back to back and I have been fading this team when they don't have Coach Karl on the road. And I tell you, it's profitable. 6-10-2 ATS on back to back games and a measly 17-18 on the road for the Nuggets. I also like Boston off a blow out loss to the Jazz. They are old but if you guys watched the way they play the last couple of games, they've been operating like a unit again. Denver also looks like an easy public bet with the perception that they are a real powerhouse team (plus getting the points). Red Flag here is that you just don't know which Boston team will show up plus the Nuggets may actually be looking forward to this game. (Quick note, the Acela Angle could possibly be in effect into this game but since the Knicks won straight up and covered it doesn't apply anymore).
Other than Boston, I'm thinking of putting an Orlando play but them as dogs against the Hawks isn't helping me pick one out. If I have to make a play, I'll most likely go against my pick and go with the Hawks -1 to avoid a season series sweep. You guys know how I love my Cats. With the healthy lineup they have right now, they ca... [More]

Thursday sure is crazy. I only had Miami but I feel for those who backed the Nuggets last night. Really shady ending tonight. Anyway, let's start talking about Friday. BTW, all the teams in Bold are my play. I've been receiving messages in my inbox so that's just to clear it up. Also, I always wanted to hear your opinions on games guys.
I don't know why but Toronto ML caught my attention with the 7:00pm games. They have nothing going on for them going to this game and has only gotten 4 wins since the Allstar break and they were against a depleted Wizards team, the Nets and the Bricks. I like however the drive they have going to this game. Oh, and a lucky win over Atlanta the other night. Oklahoma on the other hand is just the opposite of the Raptors. They've only lost 4 times after the break to good home teams (they lost one at home against the then streaking Suns). Thing here is that we're looking at a Raptors team who is very capable at home and is currently fighting to hold on to that 8th and final play off spot (wins could get them as fat as the 6th spot at the moment).
You see, this is why betting on the NBA is great to wager on the NBA at the moment. Teams actually have real reasons to play hard. Well I'm not saying that the Thunders doesn't have anything to play for, they are playing the best season of their franchise and they can still get up the standings with their remaining games.
Knicks will be playing the first game back after a long... [More]

Line movement is wack. Miami opened as a 3 point home dog and now moved at 2.5 with close to 70% on Orlando. Last night we saw the Magic men beat the hell out of the Spurs with Dwight, Vince and Jameer not playing more than 30 minutes last night. Back to back after a blow out game with a rested starter ain't a problem right? Anyway, when you are betting on a Thursday game you gotta not mind all those facts, trends whatever and just play what is the most obvious to lose the game. Of course, it isn't 100% but so far this season, it has been cash!
Miami's last game was against the Spurs where they were beaten by 12. On the other hand, Orlando just played the Spurs and just thrashed them by 36. Terrific right? This play isn't actually basing everything on the shady line movement. Heat is actually playing really well at the moment. They've won 6 of their last 7 home games and it isn't impossible to beat the 2nd seed Magic at home (the season series win always goes to the Home team this season).
Miami Heat +2.5

Wow. After we saw loads of games going OVER, most games went UNDER today. I don't like Wednesday cards but here's what I think:
Oklahoma City at -1.5 right now looks easy. I think it might hit. Cats really feeling the loss of their best defender last night against the Pacers. They just allowed Granger and Murphy drop points on them easy. Then again, it has let down and look ahead written all over in that game but I still went with them. Charlotte Bobcats ML looks like a good value since they play really well on back to back (12-5) games and at home (18-4). At the moment, no play for me in this game.
I don't know what's up with that game against Detroit Tuesday Night but man did they make the Cavs look bad going back at home to play the Pacers. Pacers just broke a 2 game slide with a win against the Wallace-less Cats. I like the Indiana Pacers +13 to cover the spread tonight with the Cavs not really dominating teams lately. Cavs wins this straight up but Pacers pulls a fast one on them for the cover. Should've seen this earlier but Granger looks like he's out to ball after the suspension he got.
Okay, I know I'll most likely be throwing my money here but I see the New York Knicks as a 9.5 road dog a blessing. Not too crazy with this play but the probability of this team keeping up with the Celtics is really good. They've lost to the Celtics with an average of 3.5 points in two games (both went OVER). I think the Knicks even with the lineup they have now ... [More]

Nice hit with the Hornets ML. Here's what I think for Tuesday, tell me what you guys think as well:
Charlotte Bobcats -1.5 looks like they are on a spot for an obvious let down game. But I just can't back this Indiana team specially with nothing serious to play for. Cats still got playoff positioning to fight for. They are playing the 2nd game without "THE BEAST" but I still like this team. They've been criticized for the lack of a real post presence and with Chandler playing healthy again they went on a 6-0 tear (5-1 ATS). The only plus side I see for the Pacers is that they have a decent front court but with the Cats' roster at the moment (even without Wallace) they can neutralize the opposition.
30 minutes later we head to Detroit to lay chalk on the Cleveland Cavaliers -9.5. Don't get me wrong here. I'm not playing if A beats B, and B beats C, then A beats C here but the Cavs will just own this team. Red flag here is that Shaq will be rejoining the Cavs. Detroit is on one bad scheduling playing 5 games in 7 nights. They are never good playing back to back games with only a covering rate of 22%.
At -13.5, I have no trouble picking the Nuggets even playing back to back. Playing in Salt Lake then going to Colorado the next day on a 6 games in 8 days format should be very brutal to any team in the league. The only red flag here is that the nuggets are playing 4 games in 5 nights themselves plus playing at home for the first time after a 3 or more road tri... [More]

Friday was good! Let's do it again Saturday:
Detroit Pistons +12.0
Too many points IMO. Detroit can match up well with the Hawks and that's about it. Hawks has only dominated one team after the break and that's the 76ers (go figure). Only thing to consider here is that Pistons are awful playing back to back.
Orlando Magic -11.5
I know betting double digit road faves (or just favorites for that matter) isn't profitable in the NBA this season but man, look at the Washington Wizard's schedule. It's hella wack. They will be playing 4 games in 5 nights. Orlando is just blowing teams out left and right. Mark the Wizards' as Orlando's Victim#8.
Memphis Grizzlies +2.5 & ML
Oh dear, this is a tough one. Both teams on a mad groove at the moment and I bet no one's giving an inch to anyone. So far this season, the home team manages to win the game. Last night, Nuggets look anemic all night. I think they just got lucky back there and shouldn't be able to roll in Memphis Saturday night. Denver also don't do well on back to back going 5-9-2 ATS and the 3 games in 4 nights on the road should do the trick.
New York Knicks +11.0
And bang that ML hard. LOL. Kidding. Knicks won't get blown out by 50 again. Banking on Dallas still not being able to be an ATS machine at home (7-24-1 for the season, OMG).
New Jersey Nets +10.0

I guess you guys should pay little attention to my early post. I've been dealing the damage on capping/playing them late games. Anyway, I just love the Friday cards and so let's go crazy:
Boston Celtics -9.5
What the FUCK is this line? Is Vegas giving away free money so you can just cash in on the Pacers to cover (or perhaps juice some off that good looking ML). To make it easier to pick a side here, we see two games early in the season and we have the Pacers winning by 9 against the Celts then losing by 9 in their next bout (Granger was injured in this one). So we see the Pacers team covering 3 in a row set almost a double digit road dog against a struggling Celtics team that just lost 2 in a row now. To make the setup even better, Celtics may look ahead to playing the Cavs after this one. Celtics' other wins came from cellar dwellers where the public saw how excruciating the green men played. For a unit, I'd play the Celts here. Only one reason I see the line this high, it's either they blow them out or lose the game again and make it 3 in a row.
Detroit Pistons -5.0
Can't find any relevant stat to back my play here. Wizards on a crazy 5 games in 6 nights schedule. It's gonna hurt. Piston takes advantage of this one seeing them dominate Washington this season.
Memphis Grizzlies -8.0
The only positive thing in New York right now is David Lee. In their last matchup, we saw Al Harrington uncharacteristically played his hearts out scoring 31 point... [More]

Freaky Thursday and I'm playing a logical bet. Hawks has never had any problem against the Wizards and teams probably has gotten a good ready at them by now. Washington boast of only their competitive front court which IMO can the Hawks match really well.

Portland has no problem putting up the points the last 6 games and no one is blaming them for doing so. They are doing so well when scoring past the century mark. In their last 10 games, they've managed to go over 100 8 times and has won 7 of those games. Portland averages 198 ppg the last 5 games shooting and allowing 47% in field goals. They get more over games on the road (19-12-0 o/u record on the road) than thy have at home.
On one hand, the Nuggets will be the Nuggets. They can get the points up early and in bunches. When they're on a good night, this team is capable of scoring 120+. They've been allowing teams to stack up to 90+ points at home and scoring 100+ themselves. That in itself is an easy 190 points. They play 19-13 o/u at home which when combined with the Blazer's road record, we have 38-25 o/u.Portland @ Denver OVER 207

Charlotte Bobcats +3.0
Bobcats is no where near the form they are in when they made that mad run last December. But thing here is that Lakeshow travels to Charlotte who they narrowly beat back in 02/03/10. They also get to play Orlando after this one. I'm liking this spot for Jordan's new toy and shine tonight. For some strange reason Bobcats matches well against the Lakeshow and has covered 9 of their last 10 matchups. Leaning the Cat-show!
Washington Wizards +4.5
I backed them before this game and lost by 13 as 10 point road dog. As much as I'd like to talk about this game, check out Canada_Chris' thread for this one. It's a good read. http://www.covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=22&sub=100695877

System play here. Bet against the Nets. The only red flag here is that Orlando plays the Lakers next. Look ahead angle there.
Denver Nuggets -10.5
Nuggets just got too much firepower for the struggling Pacers. The only red flag here is that they may look ahead to hosting the Blazers the next game. Pacers blow on the road and Nuggets just rocks at home, as one of the best home team in the NBA.
I'm not too crazy but I like the Pistons' chance in covering against the Cavs with 13 more points. They're still a team with pride and even without Big Ben, they can manage to squeak in a nice little backdoor cov... [More]

At first glance, most games on board looks like they are all headed to hit the OVER. Here's some quick thoughts looking at the games....
Orlando at home scores a lot plus the Warriors can only get a game close and win it by relying on their offense. Back to back for the Warriors means that they'll be half a beat slower than they already are on defense.
Sure the Nets could rarely get the scoreboard running. I was surprised myself to see them hit the century mark against the Celtics the other day. Anyway, thing here is that either they get blown out by the Cavs or score with them. Clevelan just lost its D and they seem to be letting teams score. It's either they hit the century mark or let the opposing team run the scores for them. The smallest game total in a Cleveland game after the break is 196 (against Orlando).
Line IMO is over inflated. But with ball hogs like Stuckey and Rip who can light it up for the pistons playing a team that plays no Defense. Expect this game to have a run for the total. Back to back should make the Detroit D a little softer specially after losing in a close game against the Pistons. They should be hella tired putting up a fight like that. Knicks will be Knicks and just pile up the points.
Line's 6 to 8 points lower than I expected. It's not that the Wizards are playing D going 4 unders to 3 overs the last 7 days, it's that the Washington offense is more like ... [More]
