Steelers vs. Bungles

Folks clearly I'm a Steeler Homer however,  I do believe the Steelers handle the Bengals this week.  Actually, the Steelers handled the Bengals the first time and handed it over late.

The strength of the Bengal offense is their running game.  Forget the hype about Ocho and Palmer.  They are now a physical team that runs for 1st downs.  They run for 130 yds/game.  The Steeler defense is #1 against the run.  The addition of Troy Polamalu improves the Steeler defense against the pass AND the run.  A wild guess tells me Troy would have been in the middle of that game winning pass in the end zone the last time they played.

The Steeler offense is improved with the emergence of an effective running game.  Looks like the O-line is vastly improving each week and is staying healthy.  The holes Mendenhall had to run in were 10 yards wide against Denver.

Game is in Pittsburgh, it's for 1st place in the division, there is an obvious revenge factor and who in their right minds believes the Bungles will sweep the Steelers this year?  Steelers typically regroup very well off of a bye week(As evidenced against Denver) although their first game back is usually rusty.  They should be even better this week.  The Champs begin to focus on the stretch run to the playoffs.

im starting to think the bengals cover this game and maybe outright win. not sure yet but this is basically a playoff game. they play chumps the next 3 weeks(oak, cle, det) after this game. so i figure no distractions in the near future..lets see where the line ends up..   TB looks juicy this week

You my friend are defintley a Pitt homer. I agree with pitt being totally stout on stoping the run. Their front 7 will cause all sorts of trouble for cincy, however Cedric Benson has been running like he stole it.He has been getting holes for him by cincy's O-line and will get his hard earned yards on Sunday. Carson parlmer has been playing as a top teir quarterback and imo will have success as long as he looks off Polamolu. Thinking the Bengals will have no problem playing balanced ball and controling the clock---keeping Big Ben as a spectator on the sidelines.

Make no mistake Pitt is gearing up as they do this time of year for a playoff run. Love their coach too. Many weapons on both sides of the ball and Polamolu is just CRAZY and plays like he is on a horse. Hes fast to the ball. Pitts Defense is #1 at stopping the run.

Dont think that because Cincy beat Pitt once that they cant do it again because they CAN. This Bengals them is playing some great ball this year. They stuck around with the Steelers last time and took it at the end. They beat Baltimore twice. This is a much different Bengals team than recent years. They are balanced , playing great Defense and moving the ball at will.

My only concern here would be that the Steelers are 40-21 ATS playing a team that previously beat them.

Getting 7 or more points imo is a great value on the Bengals who are playing way up above ecpectations, have the same record, are 4-0 in division games and HAVE LET UP LESS POINTS ON DEFENSE THEN PITT.

goodluck

I may be a bit bias, but I agree. Pittsburgh is bettter than Cincy in all three phases of the game, Offense, Defense, and Special Teams.

I was glad to see this was not demapples sucker bet of the week. Way to much love going on the Bengals here. Been many years, if ever, that Cincy has swept the AFC North and unless I'm mistaken this is the divisions last chance to prevent just that.

Again, everyone on the dog all of a sudden he's the public darling and becomes the favorite. In my experience, ya gotta respect the opening line and with the way the Bengals have been playing I'd be more apt to take them if the line were set at 3' because then the linesman thinks they have a shot at winning the game. It's obvious with a line at 7 they really don't believe it will be close.

I like Pit in this situation,

good luck with any plays you make

Look up those weapons for the Steelers that missed that game first time around. Reed won't be missing FG'S Sunday.

Paint guy-that's your ONLY concern in this game? You must think the Steelers are looking ahead to your chiefs next week? Subway loves us!

WinsRus- I agree with you but our special teams scare me. We need to shore up there.
