Seriously considering upgrading from the PS2 and XBOX I have now and consolidating into one ...was wondering what is better?

PS3 has Blu Ray, Xbox 360 has more games?  I really dont know much about either and am looking for imput.

I dont play online games...just play with myself, or by myself i mean.

90% sports games I play...racing, golf, hockey, football

Thanks!!!!

If you're playing sports and alone, then PS3 (better graphics)

If you're an online gamer and enjoy a variety of games, XBOX.

Blu-ray = marketing HYPE. You can get a Blu-ray player from Walmart + 360 for same price as PS3.

Had an Xbox before, and when I encountered the "3 rings of death" problem, took it back to the store for warranty repair.  What I saw on the floor was a stack of--no bullshit--about six dozen Xbox360's, waiting to be repaired as well.  Sold my Xbox after that, swore off whatever Microsoft has to offer in the future, no matter if they have fancy shit like motion sensor controllers and whatnot.

I traded my 360 and some games in on a PS3. Best thing I ever did.

I'm in the midst of a 2-day NHL '09 binge on the PS3

Come on NHL  players, I know you're out there

thanks for all the help guys!!!

what is the difference between 40gb and 80gb?  why would someone need 80gb?  saving games? online?  blu ray?  i dont get it...

I know when I got mine, the 40 gig did not have a dual shock 3 controller, so I got an 80. If you are going to do it, do it right and get this one:

Got the 80GB myself a year ago and loved it. However I don't game much anymore (lack of time), but other than that I simply watch blu rays on it.

Little bro's birthday's coming up, likely I'll just pass it on to him since he's in the 18-25 crowd like most of the gamers are.

Wait, so there are actually people out there who prefer just to play against the comp?

Why don't you just go get an NES, and play tecmo bowl? Pick the Raiders or Da Bears....
