My picks for Saturday:
England:
M. United-West Ham: >3 (1.70);
Man United has 9 overs in their last 10 games overall and 10 overs in their last 10 home games. They also had 25 overs in 38 EPL games last season. Clearly a team with great fire power upfront.
West Ham had 23 overs in 38 EPL games last season.
Offensive teams meeting here and I do expect many goals in this game.
Italy:
Roma-Cesena: >2.5 (1.81);
Roma had 25 overs in 38 Serie A games last season and the team and coach are the same with Brazilian striker Adriano joining a already powerful team.
Roma also scored and conceded goals in all of their last 7 home games.
Cesena has an impressive 5-5-0 record in their last 10 away games (Serie B has they were promoted) and has scored goals in all of their last 7 away games.
I do expect several goals on this one.
Spain:
Levante-Sevilla: Sevilla (2.19;
Levante comes from the "Liga Adelante" and lost the previous 3 home meetings at home to Sevilla.
Sevilla is by far a much better team but are in poor form at the moment and were trashed by Barça last weekend and lost at home to Braga the game and the possibility of being in the Chamipons League this season.
Still, after Barça and Real they're most likely (along with At. Madrid and Valencia) the best club in Spain and with players like Jesus Navas, Renato, Fabiano and Kanoute they're the favorites to win any game in Spain apart from the ones with the... [More]

My first picks for the European Competition games this week:
Sevilla-Braga: Sevilla to qualify (1.71);Sevilla completely outplayed Braga in the 1st half of the 1st game but Braga are like that (like the old Italian way of playing), they hang in there and when you least expect they sting you on a set piece or a fast counter attack.
Sevilla are the much better and experienced team and playing at home will end up qualifying to the group stage. Odd is way too low for the home win and we have to remember this is the game of a lifetime both for Braga as a Club and the coach and players (meaning they will fight like never before).
I think the best option is on Sevilla to qualify at this odd.
Sampdoria-W. Bremen: >2.5 (1.70);Both teams scored in the 1st game and after losing 3-1 Sampdoria needs to score at least 2 goals.
Sampdoria scored in al of their last 10 home games while Bremen scored in all of their last 10 away matches.
I see it very likely for both teams to score again tonight and I think this is a good price for a win.

Start the weekend with a bet on Friday in the Superliga.
I decided to stay away form the Bayern game (too early, important players missing, some changes at Wolfsburg...).
Superliga:
Académica-Olhanense:
draw (3.22);Both teams played well in their Superliga debut, have similar value and will fight to avoid relegation.
Playing at home Académica are the slight favorites but last year they only won 4 home games the entire season and I do not expect it to be much different this season.
These teams drew 1-1 last season in this matchup.
I do expect a tight and probably low scoring game here and see the draw as a nice pick at this price.

Good morning everyone!
Portuguese season starts today with te SuperCup Final.
Benfica-Porto: Benfica (2.40)
Final will be played in the city of Aveiro (50km south of Porto but a city/region where Benfica has more fans than all other clubs in the country together).
Benfica lost two important players from last season Di Maria (Real Madrid) and Ramires (Chelsea) but new Argentinian hirings Jara and Gaitan are making a good impression so far (even though they're not direct replacements for the stars that left the club):
Benfica seems to also be changing its taticts from last season's 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 (with 4-4-2 as a backup) and seem to be in great shape just as they were last season.
Porto has a new coach (32 year old Andre Villas Boas, a former Mourinho staff member, he was the "opponent observer", and with only 6 months coaching experience at Academica Coimbra which were not that impressive) and a lot of question marks are on him (it sure looks like a risky play by the club).
Porto also lost this week experienced team Captain Bruno Alves to Russian club Zenit and that is a big blow for the club IMO. They will now lack on field leadership and a great center back.
Experienced midfielder Raul Meireles also seems to be on his way out leaving the club with little or no major references in the lockerroom.
Porto also lost their 2 games in a tournament in France last weekend.
Benfica is the clear favorite her... [More]

Just placed a few bets on:
R. Madrid to win Champions League (odd at 6.44 European format)
Real has a great group of players this season, with the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Xabi Alonso and Benzema to their existing player roster.
That should make them one of the most exciting football teams to watch in the planet along with Barça and one of the favorites to win the competitions they're in.
2010's Champions League final will be played at Santiago Barnabeu which is a great advantage for them in case they make the final (which I think they're likely to do).
This is a great opportunity for Real to extend their Champions League winning record to 10 wins and I'll take them at this early price.
Benfica to win Europa League (odd at 11.53 European format)
Benfica has a great team and also a great coach this season and that shows with them having a tremendous season so far.
If we look at the Europa League statistics now (March 1st), they have scored 18 goals so far and conceded only 4 in the competition.
Also in the statistics we can find in form wonder trio Cardozo with 6 goals scored (2nd place so far in goals scored), Angel Di Maria with 6 goal assists (1st place in this category) and also Javier Saviola in 5th place when it comes to assists with 3.
This is an evidence in regards to the quality of the team and the attacking football they've been playing all season.
On top of that they have great team players in top form ... [More]

Bosnia-Portugal
Bosnia is in a must win situation here after losing 1-0 in the 1st leg at Estádio da Luz in Lisbon.
Bosnia surely has some good players upfront but are very vulnerable at the back.
Portugal will defend hard and look for fast counter attacks with Simão, Nani and Liedson but are also vulnerable at the back. Keeper Eduardo is not a top one (surely far from being the best one in Portugal) and defense. On top of that Centre Back Bruno Alves (who scored the goal in the 1st leg) is doubtful for the game.
Bosnia had 8 overs in their last 10 home games, scored in 9 of those games ans also conceded goals in 9 of those games.
Pick: >2.25
