European competition picks

My first picks for the European Competition games this week:

Sevilla-Braga: Sevilla to qualify (1.71);
Sevilla completely outplayed Braga in the 1st half of the 1st game but Braga are like that (like the old Italian way of playing), they hang in there and when you least expect they sting you on a set piece or a fast counter attack.
Sevilla are the much better and experienced team and playing at home will end up qualifying to the group stage. Odd is way too low for the home win and we have to remember this is the game of a lifetime both for Braga as a Club and the coach and players (meaning they will fight like never before).
I think the best option is on Sevilla to qualify at this odd.

Sampdoria-W. Bremen: >2.5 (1.70);
Both teams scored in the 1st game and after losing 3-1 Sampdoria needs to score at least 2 goals.
Sampdoria scored in al of their last 10 home games while Bremen scored in all of their last 10 away matches.
I see it very likely for both teams to score again tonight and I think this is a good price for a win.

 everyone!

All plays are 1 unit unless I mention otherwise.

I'm playing 2 units on the Sevilla game...

Thanks my friends but I guess miracles do happen and Braga reached their dream of being in the Champions League group stage for the 1st time in club history.
I do think Sevilla underestimated them (apart from not being playing well at the moment).

More games today.

My picks for today:

Ajax-D. Kiev: Ajax (1.81);
1st leg result was a 1-1 draw and the Russians need a tie with many goals or a win on this one but that sould be a hard task against an in form Ajax side with a 8-1-1 record in their last 10 home games.
Ajax has their striking duo Luis Suárez and Mounir El Hamdaoui in great shape while at Dinamo between suspensions, injuries and the bad form of some players it does not look as good.
Ajax should win this one.

FC Copenhagen-Rosenborg: >2.5 (1.88);
I must say I find it strange for the odd to be at this price for the over in this game.
Rosenborg won the 1st leg match at home 2-1 so Copenhagen needs a win here to make it to the next round. The thing is that I do not see Rosenborg sitting at the back wasting time, they will play the game (they have said it in the game preview and we know it's in their blood).
Copenhagen has a 8-1-0 home record in their last 9 home games and they scored 2 goals or more in all of those 8 wins.
Rosenborg has an impressive 8-1-0 record in their last 9 away games with 6 overs in those games.
Both teams also rested some important players over the weekend to keep them fresh and fit for today.
I do expect several goals on this one tonight.

Tottenham-Young Boys: Young Boys +1.5AH (2.07);
Odds seem to indicate everyone in on the Spurs on this one (otherwise the odds wouldn't be so low for a Spurs win).
As Redknapp said it, in the 1st game it could be 5-0 or 6-0 after the first 30 minutes or so the way the game was going.
The Spurs are a much better team but they clearly underestimated the Swiss and Young Boys do have a talented/young team with some of their players being called for the Swiss National team for the 1st time.
Young Boys also beat Turkish giants Fenerbahçe 0-1 in Turkey to advance to this stage.
Tottenham are the favorites but I don't think they will trash the Swiss and will take the +1.5 Handicap bet here at this price.

Thanks my friends !

That french ref in the Spurs game is a complete clown ...that 2nd goal was an obivous handball by Defoe and he doesn't call it.

Let's hope Ajax stays that way and that Young Boys score 1 goal and Copenhagen and Rosenborg open up their game and score more goals in the 2nd half.

Just wondering if you have any input on the Brondby - Sporting game tomorrow.  I think the odds a mess.    Sporting couldnt do it at home, I think the home side put on a show for their home crowd.......Let me know please.

do you think teams that won 4-0 5-0 last week will win again this week.......team news and a roster will tell us a lot but not out yet....Villareal put in 5, Palermo put in 3, Leverkusen,Porto are at home and 3 away goals up .....I think if they managed 3 away to Genk, they will stick in 4 or more at home...Over 3.5 maybe on that one\

Liedson to score

MW I'm staying away from the Porto and Maritimo games today.
Porto will rest a few players, has others injured and even though the coach is saying they will be serious about the game we all know how the mind works for the players in this type of situation.
Odds are too low IMO for a Porto win (they're the clear favorites) and the Belgium seemed too "green" for this level in the 1st round will try to make an impression.

Concerning Marítimo they're a tough opponent at home but are under a lot of fire after 3 straight losses and Borisov are a more experienced side and they come from 3 straight wins. I'll stay away.

Sporting was IMO a very anxious and unlucky team (could have scored 3 or 4 goals and disn't socre any) in the 1st game.
Their defense and keeper are far from impressive IMO and they will miss right back João Pereira (injured) tonight. Replacement Abel is not a player for a team like Sporting.
Upfront they have talent in Valdez, Vukcevic, Liedson and Yannick Djaló (who's been on the bench since the season started) and I surely think they can score.
Sporting's coach says they'll go to Denamark to turn things around and qualify.

Hope this helps.

If Sporting scores today it will be most likely Liedson...could be a good bet for him to score anytime at 3.00 or more

Not a good day yesterday.
Moving on!

My picks for today:

Brondby-Sporting: >2.5 (1.96);
Brondby won the 1st leg game away in Lisbon 0-2.
On paper Sporting has better players and was a bit unlucky not to score at least 1 goal in the 1st game. They say they'll go all in today in an attempt to turn things around which I think is possible but extremly hard.
Anyway, this should result in an open game with several goals in particular if we consider that Sporting looks far from impressive at the back (keeper included) and today they will miss right back João Pereira (their best defender IMO).

Trabzonspor-Liverpool: Trabzonspor PK (Asian-handicap) (1.99);
Liverpool are far from impressive away from home and that shows in their 2-3-5 mediocre away record in their last 10 games.
Trabzonspor are a good team, has an impressive 9-1-0 record in their last 10 home games and today they're in a "must win" situation.
With the usual Partizan support from the fans in Turkey, this should be a tough game for the Reds.

Utrecht-Celtic: Utrecht (2.29);
The Dutch side lost the 1st game away in Scotland 2-0 and will be looking at turning things around tonight.
They have an impressive 7 wins in their last 7 home games and we all know Celtic is a great home team but struggle away from home in European competitions (like they dis at Braga a few weeks ago. I watched that game and they looked horrible).
Nice price for a home win here IMO.

Season to date record: 25 1/2-12 1/2-2, +10.83 units

Best of luck, Flyers and best of luck to all!

btw. Wolfsburg just signedl Diego! But I guess they will lose Misimovic (Schalke or Galatasaray).

Thanks my friends !
It was indeed a good day  but it could have been even better if it wasn't for Liverpool scoring out of that own goal 5 minutes from time ...

Yeah Lutz, I read that today. Diego is an amazing player and that will be a big boost for Wolfsburg even if they lose Misimovic.
With all due respect to Wolfsburgh, I must say I'm surprised a player like Diego is not playing for a bigger/historical club in Europe.
