CLEVELAND @ CHICAGO

Away:  Cleveland [26-10 ATS]
Home:  Chicago [17-22 ATS]

Game Time: 8:00 PM
Stadium: United Center

The Cavs are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games as a road favorite of 5.0 - 10.5. The Bulls on the other hand are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a home underdog of 5.0-10.5 and are 14-37 ATS in their last 51 games following a S.U. win. The Bulls are also 2-50 at home following a SU win this year.

The Cavs are playing on 2 days rest and the Bulls had to travel back late last night after their big win in Toronto for tonight's game. The Cavs are 6-2 ATS on 2 days rest averaging 108.6 ppg while giving up only 90.6. Cleveland DEF is key in tonight's match up. If they are able to hold the Bulls to under 93 points they will win this game SU and get the ATS Cover. Look for the Cavs to win this game by 12 or more.

With the Cavs playing as hot as they are ATS and SU its hard not to play them tonight given the facts mentioned above. Good Luck!

CAVS -8

GL Fpronk, Bull's are going to turn into a (bitch team) with Kirk back.  So many guard's, so little time. I can't see them playing together at all. Cav's are the right call for me.

Ya know what?
I was thinking that I do not think the CAVS will cover B2B road games as the FAV however your post just convinced me that they are that good...and they are just that dayme good!

The KING is here!
Cavs -7.5 for the game (3 units)
Cavs -4.5 1st half (1.5 units)
and Cavs -2.5 1st Q (.5 units)

LetEMride says:
01/15/09 01:34PM
everytime i have said to myself " the cavs wont cover again on the road" they have covered with ease in a high flying affair.

its CLE or stay away. I will bet on the King.

Well, Im betting chicago, I think that your cavs are not the same without Ilgauskas I dont trust at all in Varejao; also ben wallace is out so I dont see your team in their best position tonight laying 8 points is a lot. Chicago isnt memphis, they will fight and definitely I see them winning  SU tonight, but is more safe to take the +8 points.
However I respect your thread and your opinion just sharing my opinion too

I think is a good moment in the next 5-10 game to start backing chicago, enough quality players to start a good streak and move into playoffs spots, Cleveland is playing great mostly because all the team understand their job in the court, lebron is their leader and mo williams is the second option on the offense, they dont have more than 1 all star in the lineup (maybe ilgauszkas) and that helps more the cavs to play as a team and with the good chemistry; with the recent injuries they are affecting that chemistry. I expect a very good game, but bulls should cover. We shall see....cant tell you good luck Fpronk because I have da bulls, but take care and keep posting you are a solid capper doesnt matter tonight game result.

Value two examples of underappreciated - Cavs @ Mem -8 / LAL @ MEM -12 , Cavs @ Mia -5.5 / LA @ Mia - 8 - The Cavs have been far more dominant than LAL and BOS and they are not getting the linemaker respect.  Maybe that is why they cover at a 70% + clip.  All I am saying is ride the train and make some money.
tzap00 says:
01/15/09 03:32PM
Call me a Cavs homer but they are a far superior team to the young inconsistent Bulls.  They still might be underappreciated by linesmakers.  They have been more dominant than any team in the league with a 12.5 point differential.  This is a team that is 2nd in FG% made and 1st in FG% allowed.  When rested they are murder.  And this team  is focused knowing they are battling BOS and ORL for the #1 seed.  After last season they understand the importance of this and they don't give games away like in the past.

01/15/09 04:32PM
I didnt know the cavs ats record on 1 day rest, i looked it up earlier like you should have. By the way i was wrong, they are 11-6. When you call people names like douchebag and dickhead it makes you sound very credible and grown up. Im sure all the sharps check in to see your incredible write ups every day. Keep up the good work tough guy.
marksteg22 says:
01/15/09 04:16PM
They have covered against the Lakers, Pistons, Jazz (twice), Magic, and yes they were all over .500 at the time. If this stuff isn't common sense to you then maybe you should educate yourself a little more before you post. Staing incorrect stats and then calling people names that call you out on them does not make you a good capper. Go to matchups for this game and you will find all of the information that you need. You can just copy and paste so that you look really smart from now on.
marksteg22 says:
01/15/09 04:02PM
If you play back to back nights that is 0 days rest. Any night you dont play is a days rest. Common sense. I am 100% sure. Also, do you really think the Bulls have only played 5 teams with a winning record? They have covered 8 times this year against teams with winning records. Either do research before you post or dont post.
marksteg22 says:
01/15/09 03:50PM
Fpronk, I am on the Cavs as well and i see no reason not to be. Anyone who thinks the Cavs miss Z have not been watching them play. Wallace was out Tuesday with the flu so i would imagine he would be back. Before you call all of these Bulls backers idiots make sure you have all your facts right though. The Cavs are on 1 day rest (yesterday) and that is when they play the worst ATS (10-6 i think). KingD, why do you keep pointing out that there hasnt been a series sweep since 2006, thats only 2 years and this is the best Cavs team probably ever.
ace7 says:

Bad spot with Cleveland tonite, the sharp money is on the Bulls. As a bettor who has made decent money gambling nothing is a easy as it seems. Always think before jumping on a bet that looks easy.

Bulls +8.5

Reverse Line Movement depends from book to book. My line opened at -7.5 which is when I grabbed it, now it is at -8. That is logical correct line movement.

CAVS to the bank for me. I do like the under as well.
ValueforRent says:
01/15/09 04:12PM

You really think they're going to keep offering you line value on a team that is covering 72% of their games and has a star player the public fawns over?

ValueforRent says:
01/15/09 04:52PM

Right now it has nothing to do with lack of respect.  Clearly when a team is that dominant ATS and has a superstar like Lebron James, bettors are not going to miss out.  A diamond in the rough ATS like OKC can sneek by, the Cavs can't.  There's clearly people on this site who are blindly betting the Cavaliers every night.  And when they're covering like they have been, in no way is that wrong because it's clearly been profitable.  But at some point, the people who make the lines have to take a stand and over-adjust for a team that has been this dominant.  Vegas (I know that's a cliche term) isn't in the business of losing money.  Adjustments in the coming weeks will be made accordinly.  They wouldn't have it any other way.

ValueforRent says:
01/15/09 04:25PM
And cool tomorrow I get to take +6.5 points with New Orleans.

One of the linesmakers new year's resolutions has to be putting a halt to this torrid ATS run the Cavaliers are on.  This line tonight might not look that high, but that's only because the public has developped a warped sense of what road chalk is.  If Chicago has any guts and fortitude they will show up tonight at home to avenge their three losses so far this year to Cleveland.  Two of those losses bordered on child abuse for good measure.  And now Cleveland is without their full complement and also has a lock-ahead spot with their game against New Orleans tomorrow as well.

Bulls +8.5

ValueforRent says:
01/15/09 07:18PM

So far this year it's been money in the bank.  Hopefully tonight this begins to turn around.  Bulls +8.5.

ValueforRent says:
01/15/09 05:17PM
With Cleveland going onto the road this season and eviscerating teams in the fashion they have- winning by double digits and covering at an alarming pace- it can desensitize bettors to any number, no matter how inflated, because of the carnage and destruction Cleveland has handed down on the road.  So yeah when you've seen the Cavs blowout teams by 15+ in their own building, -8.5 seems like a walk in the park.  The reality is big road chalk is historically not a profitable endeavour in the NBA and the Cavaliers have found a way to be extraordinarily anomolous so far.

Just think about it, are these books trying to make you rich? NO. Their goal is to take all your money away  and turn you into a degenerate maniac.  So when they see the masses pouring onto the Cavaliers at virtually every turn, and profiting off of it handsomely, eventually they are forced to make changes on the lines.  From their standpoint, it simply doesn't behoove them at this juncture to offer you value on a team that has in all likelyhood cost them a significant amount of money.

ValueforRent says:
01/15/09 06:02PM
Heavy money coming in on Chicago.

taking Cavs, they have been covering like crazy. Previously injuried players for the Bulls are still rusty, Deng, Kirk. They have too many guards that are just not getting consistent minutes to be effective. GL all
TheShow24 says:
01/15/09 02:19PM
Guys, lets all be real. The man Pronk is right. The Cavs are 4-1 ATS without Z and 1-0 without Big Ben. Not a big sample, but the records are what they are. Not a valid argument. Granted Ben's miss was against Memphis (who actually usually play close at home). They beat the Celts by 15 without Z, and a hot at the time Charlotte team without Z. As good as he is, the team is just too deep.

Varejao scored double digits against both Charlotte and Boston, two teams with formidable front courts. He should be ok against Noah? Tyrus Thomas? The rookie JJ Hickson has played real well lately, and even Lorenzen Wright has played good minutes.

And then there's the defense. I'm obviously a Laker fan, huge on Kobe being better than Lebron, but the King has taken his defense personal this year. He hustles back and blocks shots. He locks down some of the best (Ray Allen 12, Pierce 11, Mayo 6, Gay 10), some of the top scorers in the league. DRose gets his, Deng does nothing, thats about all there is.

As much as i dont even like the Cavs, i'm trying to make money. Can't see less than a double digit win. 103-85

Even though i made a last sec. switch and went with the Cavs, i do think this is the game (out of the last two meetings) where the bulls have a chance of taking it.

Out of their series there has never been a clean sweep, and with only 2 games left.. who knows if they can do it..
