The state of Massachusetts is looking at dropping no less than three land casinos into their state, including one located near Palmer, which is between Boston and Springfield.

Unfortunately for them, it looks like groups are lining up to stop the development before it begins.

Not only are these groups concerned about the change in the their local community, but they also aren't afraid to play the moral card as well. One such group, called Casino Free Mass, has a talking points section of their website that appears dedicated to dispersing cherry-picked nuggets of mis-information about the perils of gambling.

But I'm not here to argue with their points - if they don't want the jobs, tourism, and economic development in their community, so be it.

I'm just going to make a suggestion of something that might, just might, acheive everybody's goals... what about if Massachusetts opened up some online casinos?

Then, not only would the people of Palmer not have to suffer the evil of economic development, but with all of the advanced protections provided by online gambling, not nearly as many people in the community would be negatively affected.

Finally, it would allow the adults of
Massachusetts to spend their own money as they see fit and help fund state programs as well.

Win - win.
