Gameboy, I want follow your systems, but I have 2 questions:

1) For the first system chase (RL), what's happen if the chasing team is underdog in any game of the chase?. Bet the RL (+1.5) anyway?

2) Could you explain better the second system (5 game chase of WINS at Home and LOSES on ROAD). I don't understand it!!

1) To determine the play, whatever team has the highest M/L you bet the R/L, that will determine the play.

2)  "OK folks, here again is the system in a nutshell, with an example of my

shitty Jays (all imaginary opponents and dates). Imagine that the Jays

have home games on July 1-4, and 12-14:


July 1 - Jays HOME win

July 2 - " "

July 3 - " "

July 4 - Jays HOME LOSS


July 5-11 - Jays road games (do not pay attention to

these)

ONCE A TEAM WINS 3 (OR MORE) STRAIGHT HOME GAMES and then eventually

LOSES a home game to end the home-game winning streak, CHASE THAT TEAM

FOR UP TO 4 GAMES.   The purpose of the system is to win ONE unit at a

time (e.g. $100/unit in my examples)


Therefore, on the next homestand:


July 12 - Wager on JAYS to WIN @

HOME (Game 1 of chase), e.g. odds -150 (risk $150 to win $100)


Lets say they lose this game, then:


July 13 - Wager on JAYS to WIN

@ HOME (Game 2 of chase), e.g. odds -150 again (risk $375 to win $250,

to recover the first $150 PLUS the $100 win-profit we want)


Lets say they lose this game, then:


July 14 - Wager on JAYS to WIN

@ HOME (Game 3 of chase), e.g. odds +100 (risk $625 to win $625, to

recover the first $150 bet and the second $375 bet, PLUS the $100

win-profit we want)


If you have the cojones and bankroll to chase to game 4 (should be

approx $1200+, then keep up with the chase! I've had to do it once with

STL early this year, and LOST my marbles, but have won more than 50+

games since so the 1400 loss wasn't as bad as it felt...


This system also entails chase bets to FADE AN AWAY TEAM after the end an

away losing streak.  For example, going back to the Jays above:


July 5-7 - Jays lose 3 straight

away games

July 8 - Jays WIN an away game

July 9 - Bet AGAINST the Jays,

doesn't matter which team (Game 1)


If they lose...


July 10 - Bet AGAINST the Jays

again (Game 2 of chase) for the amount lost in game 1 PLUS the $100

win-profit we want

Okay guys, I went through last years thread and came up with numbers the best I could (there were some posted at the end of thread that did not add up correctly).  Here is what I got:

--Overall 89-77-1

--Series record with 6 game chase 89-2-1

--Game 1:    49-42-1

--Game 2:    25-17

--Game 3:     9-8

--Game 4:     4-4

--Game 5:     0-4

--Game 6:     2-2

With a 5 game chase last year this system would be 87-4 which adds no value over a 4 game which would have had the same record.  5 game chase would have lost units, 4 game chase would have gain approx 15U with the same record of 87-4.  This is not much better than playing straight up every game for the year.  These numbers are skewed somewhat in that the last series lost last year decreasing the value at all levels.  Would have ended +30U at 4 game chase if not for the last loss.  There seems to be no added value in going past 4 games with increased risk.

3 Game chase would have been 83-10 (1 loss for each series won in game 6) with 7-8U per loss depending on juice.

This system worked well for me last year in MLB, and also this year in NHL with filters and a little capping also.  You can pick your chase scenario depending on how big your huevos are.  I wouldn't chase over 6 games though. This system is also called the Big Fav system.GL and suggest using Labouchere rather than Martingale.

another way to bet the high favorite is to manipualte the runline. say your betting $100 here is the formula

braves  -190     RL-1.5  +120.

100/190= .53  .53+1=1.53

100/1.53=  65.35  this is how much you bet on ml

100-65.35=34.65 here is how you would bet

65.35 to win 34.40 on the ml

34.65 to win  39.84 on RL if the braves only win by one run ur out .25. if they win by 2 runs you win 74.40 so basically 100 to win 74.40. if u bet half of that of course your juice will be less.

I looked at this a couple of days ago.  Fading the favorite with a four game chase would have been 46-1 last year, or 44-3 with three game if you did it until 7/15... after that it was more profitable to play the favorite on the runline... don't know if anyone has backtested this or not???

Also, I did not play against favorites >-235 as they were 29-14 at covering the -runline

Sorry guys, I have too many pieces of scrap paper where I was working this stuff out.  I didn't post this the other day becuase fading the favorites was horrible in 2008, started 17-2 with a four game chase.  Sorry for cluttering up the thread GB but couldn't delete my previous post...  BOL guys.

Hello Nole.. I sent out some Pm's the other day.. don't know why I didn't see you on my list. I apologize for the miss..

The RL Blitz was the shit last year, as you stated.. but only if followed correctly. I strayed in September an ate dirt big time..

I thought this thread was going to follow the plays, but today's effort (altho successful) completely deviated from the original RL Blitz.. which will, more often than not, leave you on the bad end of a beat down..

The clear Opening Line Favorite was Colorado, and should have been the Level 4 play.. I can only assume, that early panic set in, and Detroit was added as a fill-in play.. Altho I also had the Tigers as a winner today, as well, it is not recommended to deviate from such a successful System.. especially when the correct Level (4) play had a start-time well before the completion of the Tigers Game. What was Colorado locked in as?? A Level 1?? It was 5-2 Tigers in the 8th when Colorado started.. but what if Cleveland had scored 2 in the 9th?? Then you have a LOST level 4.. and a Level 1 wager on Colorado..

You may say, "big deal", Detroit was in control.. but this situation happened on more than one occasion last season with me.. the proper RL Blitz has one play a day. And believe me, there is no reason to panic.. it makes more than enough Units if played correctly.

Strong handicapping had Colorado as over a -230ML favorite today.. yet we got incredible value at only -180 (-160, -210 depending on your book).. sounds weird saying -180 is incredible value, but it was. Which made the Level 4 play of Colorado RL the strongest play on the board today.

Maybe Gameboy can shed some light on what his thought process for today was, in an effort to help people who may be blindly following him.. as so many on here do....

The number of new threads here in the past 2 weeks are mind-boggling on 1) The concept proposed.. altho I guess I have to applaud any effort on trying to gain an "edge".. but it leads to 2) People with less than 50 posts jumping right in and "demanding" the plays because they intend to follow along, to a tee.. without any numbers to support their decision.. no wonder Vegas is rich!

Oak Lost today and are dogs once again tomorrow yet we are betting them off a home winning streak. what is your opinion on betting home dogs in the system? I went ahead and bet tomorrow anyhow cause a dog is getting good odds specially with our system, but their streak did come against the stinking Orioles.  Just a thought, I escaped 4 of those big loses last year by just skipping questionable games like these. If they lose tomorrow and are dogs for a third consecutive time I might cut my loses with the A's. whats your $.02?

Well it's great to see that the systems are off and rolling, I was reluctant to start before the first two weeks were in.  GB your current efforts and previous posts are greatly appreciated.   2010 MLB is going to be a great ride!    I'm going to follow and learn the system so that I might be able to contribute and keep this thread alive.

K let me see if a different explanation might help you out.

There are two different ways this system works:
1. For home teams to be good
2. For road teams to be bad

The system doesnt start until a certain pattern is recognized, and it takes minimum of four games for the pattern, once the pattern of four games is reached the NEXT 5 games is a chase for ONE win.

For a good home team your looking for three consecutive HOME wins then a LOSS, so....   W-W-W-L-X   <--the X is Game 1 of a system play and it continues until you win 1 game.

So every possible combination of a Home System Play is:

W-W-W-L-W: GAME 1 SERIES WIN
W-W-W-L-L-W: GAME 2 SERIES WIN
W-W-W-L-L-L-W: GAMES 3 SERIES WIN
W-W-W-L-L-L-L-W: GAME 4 SERIES WIN
W-W-W-L-L-L-L-L-W: GAME 5 SERIES WIN
W-W-W-L-L-L-L-L-L: GAME 5 SERIES LOST

What gets tricky is when teams go on the road in the middle of series, you disreguard Away games when your on a home game chase. Ill give an example with the road games (represented by a @ symbol)

W-W-W-L-L@-@-@-W: This would be a game 2 series Win, the first game of the system was a lost, followed by three road games, then a series W back at home.

YOU DISREGARD ALL AWAY GAMES WHETHER WIN OR LOSS.

The logic behind the system is simple, If your a hot home team on a winning streak (3+ games), its very difficult to turn around and Lose 6 consecutive home games. Teams don't go from winning streaks to losing streaks. Your most likely going to trade a few wins and losses here and there before you start slacking at home.

So they same team applies with the road teams, except for winning you want them to be losing:

The pattern here is: L-L-L-W-X     X being the first system game, and your betting for them to lose 

AND YOU DISREGARD ALL HOME GAMES IN BETWEEN.

*your always betting a home team in this system, either for a good team to win, or betting against a bad road team thus betting their opposing team (thats why it says HOU (STL 2 Lose))

Hopefully that clears it up.

Gameboy is a beast and I hopped on this system last year when the post author disappeared on us halfway through the season, and Gameboy continued the picks just like he is now. Everyone looks at this thread Gameboy! They might not say stuff but lots are people are checking the picks daily!

What I Love about this system is while yes its not perfect, there are a few losses during the season, BUT its pretty easy to avoid the losses.

While Hou surprised me with that game 5 win. I predicted Sea could be the first system loss after the 2nd game, they got swept by Tex and then had one of the best teams in baseball in a series TB. And they were heavy underdogs in every game in that series. I got out after 2 games and played my money elsewhere. And sure enough they got swept. Saving myself a potential disastrous run.

Best advice is to Look ahead at the games coming up, possible 4th or 5th games in the series. If they are playing strong teams be careful with your money. Maybe get out and take a 3 game loss, or play the start very slow. (example: I didnt like Wash today against Atl (betting ATl 2 lose) as they were +120 dogs, but looking ahead Phi was coming in town so I was very comfortable if that series went 4 or 5 games, So i played G1 and Wash game me a present with that win. But i was prepared for the 4 or 5th game where you start biting nails 

I think the system had about 8 Series Lost last year? I avoided 4 of those ( and didnt start midway through when it already had 4 losses) So last year Paid the Kid!!! But using that strategy is very helpful.

I'm definitely intrigued by your bank roll method, Ive been trying to figure out a way to use the Labby in this situation. Ive sruggled with  creating an effective method since Im not sure how to play it when there are 5 or 6 games in one day. Can you explain how you do it is this situation. And what happens when 4 or 5 games all start at the same time and you can't wait to see the outcome in order to determine your starting bets. Thanks

K I believe I got it... Lets Run through this once...
I play a lil different as I play to WIN $20 instead of Risk $20 So it will be a lil different, and Ill set it up as if I started today.

So Yesterday's Plays Were:

NYM  g1 -160 Risk: $32 To Win $20 L
Col (Phi2L) g1 -110 $22/20   L
Day's Total: -$54

Collection Account for end of yesterday would look like:

Since there are multiple games today, would I just add up the total of today's loses and split them between the top two labby lines (once i crossed out the wins)?

I am used to playing to win $20 per initial A game.
Then playing to win My Game 1 loss + $20 for B game...etc..

Is there a particular rationale for choosing only to risk $20, 60 140?
Im up for adjusting my betting strategy if there is a reason for choosing these specific numbers... please explain..

Just ran some numbers on that Sea 5 game chase loss and if you played conservatively and tried to win only your initial investment (1 unit) from game 1 on games 2 thru 5 you would have lost 23.3 units total.

If you would have played to win your initial investment (1 unit) from game 1 plus 1 unit profit each time on game 2 thru 5 you would have lost 41.7 units total.

I'm pretty sure this is correct.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I was waiting for GB to(have been tracking things myself as well but always look for that validation).Was sure about LAD and NYM, but went with TEX and TOR as well and went back and checked em as proper. Just curious....how many units did you lose in the 2 losses? 

A five game chase to me leaves no room for losses.

If you average line was a small -120 per game (which I would think it would be much more than that) you would lose 41.4 units in a 5 game chase.

Not downing your system just trying to see where you stand as far as profit/loss.

This is what I do also.  My opening game favorite chase would be up only 14U using martingale and is up 48.6 using this aggressive style of labby. If I have multiple games starting on a given day I play them all on the outside numbers.

Let's say I have six games to wager on.  I do things a little different, I still place 6 bets on the Martingale side, Risk:  20, 60, 140, according to game A,B,or C

I rank the 6 qualifying plays according to their RPI.  You can google MLB, RPI rankings.

Now I still need to use the Labby line Collection Department, because I still need 4 wins to clear these 3 lines.  Using the qualifying system plays, I take the 4 teams with the highest RPI rating and use them to clear my labby lines.  So in this example I will be wagering 20+60 = TO WIN: 80 on the highest ranked RPI team (within the system plays),  the other 3 bets will be 20+20 = TO WIN: 40.

I am still developing some expertise at money management, still work 7am to 6pm, and I need a way out of the rat race.  I'm just sharing my ideas and positive experience with others who are learning to be successful sports investors.  I've learned that one size doesn't fit all, but I do know that as long as you are clearing lines, you are making profit.   Best of all, we get to share our crazy ideas in our "War Room", so we can work together to find the best way to venture forward.

Using straight Martingale, I think you would be correct.  I personally play these as a 3 game Series, take the loss and spread it across 3 aggressive labby lines.  So now I'm effectively looking for 6 system victories, to shrink the lines and recoup my loss.

I'm not a large bettor, I have a modest bankroll and I'm very conservative with it.  I only play system bets, and using this conservative style I was able to increase my bankroll about 50% in April.  The ROI would be much greater if Baseball juice wasn't so high.

To prevent large losses, On the Front end I use TO RISK : figures: (with Baseball Moneylines, your return will only be about 50%
Game 1 = 20
Game 2 = 60
Game 3 = 140
if all lose = -220

But I DO intend to collect my entire loss.  I move the loss over to the labby lines, which I consider to be my collection department.  With Baseball Juice a little high, In order to keep this profitable, I need to win back 100% of the loss with this method.

Using Labby lines for the first A game,  I bet the two outside numbers, To WIN = 40. With High Juice (-200), I may risk 80 to win 40

If I win the lines will look like this.

Second game is (-200), So I need to bet 80 to win 40.   Now if this wager is a loss, I add half of the loss to the first line and half of the loss to the second line.

New Agressive Labby Lines are as follows.

20-20-20-60 --(added 20+40=half the loss)

Next game jusice -185, so now if I choose to chip away at line 3, I will add add the outside numbers 20+60=80 to get my next To win: figure.  So now I wager 148 to win 80 and I get the win.

From here You are looking for 4 wins to clear all 3 lines.  Just chip away with the collection department, while you continue 20, 60, 140 on the front end.   When you consider the number of A and B series wins, that we have been collecting, you can see how quickly you will clear these lines.  Using this method I can tell you that you won't lose sleep, or your guts, and You will be profitable.

I like the potential to win a little more with each bet.  A series may start out with heavy juice and lose, but the next game may be closer to even, and your return will be a little better.   If the series goes to a game C, I don't need to sweat it so much.  I use martingale ABC,  20, 60, 140, but I actually started smaller 10, 30, 70 on all series.  I will just level up with these base denominators, as my bank roll grows.  These denominators will be even more rewarding when we use this MM with the -110 lines, that you get when wagering ATS in football and basketball.  

What I described as the collection department and labby lines, only kicks in when I have lost a series.  I can quickly place my wagers, play multiple systems, and still be comfortable with the exposure to my bank roll.  I can see a day where I may bet to WIN rather than just my RISK figure, or even use ALL modified labby lines in the future, but for now, I'm having success with this method, and I can sleep at night, regardless of the outcome.  If the key to staying alive is how you manage your bank roll, we all need to develop some expertise in this area.

If you can see a flaw, or point me in a better direction, I'm open to your thoughts.

I'm disappointed to see the 5 Game Chase was stopped here. I know it sucked pretty bad last year with 8 or 9 losses, but it seemed to be doing very well this season.

Because it has so many plays, and it looked to be hitting a pretty high percentage of game 1's an 2's, I think this would be good potential running the Labourchere with.

Sorry This thread is not real flashy, and it has been rather quiet, but I hope others can find confidence in the continued success.  It would be great if GB were to return.  I have questions that he may have already researched.

The inverse of this system may also be successful.??  These inverse plays are profitable so far this year, but I'm not sure how well they test in previous seasons.

I like to call these two other scenarios:
Road Warriors and Lame Ducks.

For example today you would have 3 - unofficial plays.

Road Warriors:
TEX: to win on the Road  Game 1
METS: to win on the Road  Game 4

Lame Ducks:
METS (Florida to lose at Home) Game 2

I don't want to clutter his thread with this topic, but maybe someone could back test these two scenarios.

AZ is on the Road today.  Game 2 is pending until AZ returns home again vs. LAD on 7/2.

I do not wish to hijack GB's thread.  I'm just trying to continue what he started until he returns. 

sidebar:
I have been following the inverse of these two systems, and they appear to have similar success this season, (I think one or two losses), but I've never backtested them.  The inverse would be to find a home team LLLW, and then looking for a Home Loss.  Or a Road team WWWL, and then looking for a Road Win.

As in your example:  AZ (Tampa to lose at home)  game 1,  b/c Tampa has gone LLLW there last 4 games.  

I don't wish to muddy the thread with this.  But when or if GB returns, maybe he could backtest these two scenarios.
I also saw a similar pattern in PHI (Tor to lose), WAS (Balty to lose), CLE (Cin to lose)
