This is a re-post of my blog from March 5th, 2008. I think it still applies.
I hate Brett Favre and to be totally honest I'm glad he's gone.
Although, in a classic Favre off-season moment, I wouldn't be surprised
to see him change his mind as training camp approaches and he gets the
"itch".
Yes, I'm a Bears fan. That would probably explain the
majority of my dislike for the former Packers' starting quarterback but
this is a place for us to voice our opinions, right?
Holding his
team hostage every off-season is just the tip of the iceberg with this
guy. I can't stand his obnoxious smile on the field and I really can't
stand the way the league and the media makes him out to be some sort
of football god. One glaring example was the play (last) season where he
was stumbling and made a check-down shovel pass for a completion. Any
person reading this could have made that play (it was NOT difficult or
dynamic in any way) but John Madden (don't even get me started on him)
and ESPN made it out to be the play of the decade. Again, that's just
one example.
I will agree, he has had a bit of a rough time off
the field and has responded with some statistically solid games in
response to these off-field distractions...but what was he even doing
playing in those games? Gotta keep the streak alive!
He's a gunslinger and a leader...period.
I'm definitely in the minori...

I'm definitely in the minority, and I'll probably take a lot of heat for this post, but I'm happy he's gone back to the Bayou.
