The Celtics will cover the spread in either Game 1 or 2 or both. I'll add an extra unit for Game 2 if that doesn't happen in Game 1.
 
Here are my top 5 reasons why the Celtics will be competitive against the Magic and might even win the series.
 
1) 4 championship thoroughbred versus zero. Self explanatory.
 
2) Ray Allen will be the x-factor for the Celtics in this series. Ray-Ray will be able to match the Magic's hot 3-point shooting. Orlando's defense is quite good but their weak spot is defending the 3-point shots.
 
3) Who will provide that extra lift for their team -- Vince Carter or Rasheed Wallace? My mojo chart says that 'Sheed will outperform VC in this series. Probably not by a big margin; but maybe a big enough difference where the Celtics can steal a game in Amway Arena.
 
4) Kendrick Perkins will be Superman's kryptonite. I doubt this statement myself but lets see how Dwight gets handled in this series.
 
5) Rajon Rondo didn't sleep with Paul Pierce's mom.
 
Coaching - slight edge to Boston, of course.
 
Bench - slight edge to the Magic, i think; but should be about even.
 
Cheerleaders - who knows?

My thoughts:

I don't think Boston as a whole team can match the 3 point shooting of the Magic.

Howard will not be stopped in this series. The only one on the court that can stop him is himself.

As far as Rasheed? VC would eat him up.

Agree with the 5 thoroughbred's for sure.

Also give the nod to Boston's coaching dept as well

And the cheerleaders, I'd do em all!

only thing that scares me in this game is if Dwight catches a bunch of early fouls... if thats the case the Celtics are gonna run all over the Magicians

Wallace is the only better player that comes off the bench that the Celtics have.  1 out of 5. I dont think that says "slight" or "even"


Good luck though, on the other side. Magic have covered 7 in a row, it would be over 10, but one of the Char games they missed the spread by a point...

Magic are clearly peaking at the right time, and especially at home, they are really shooting and playing well.

Finally!!! Some man with some common sense!!! Everytime Rasheed Wallace shoots, Magic fans should breathe a sigh of relief because a brick awaits. The Magic bench is much deeper and better than the Celts thin and old bench.

Good analysis but you dón´t have anything solid about it. For example you said "lets see how Dwight gets handled in this series"...he will be out of the perkins hand man...Do you believe how good is this Magic team compare to the last year one...Boston is and old team that wil be out of gas trying to follow orlando pace and by the way Orlando 3 pointers defense like you said in the only gap on this team, so Van Gundy will focus on that too...

Good luck..but i think ORLANDO will win this serie...

Kane....I like it.  Have to agree that Boston matches up very well here, and I will also point out that a long layoff before playing doesn't always mean good things...lots of rest, yes but being in sync in game situations..no.

I'll take the points here as well..

Kane is right... these benches are very very close... maybe a slight edge to Orlando...
