I check my line-ups at 11:30 a.m. last Sunday and head to the bar to watch the games with my lady.  Low and behold, they friggin inactivated him due to high winds.

I only carry one kicker in that league and I don't want to waste a roster spot on another one if I can help it, but does anyone in the NY area have any information on whether this is likely to happen in the future?  I suppose nobody knows what the weather will do, but what was the talk about this move on Sunday/Monday?  Were people making fun of it?  Did people approve?  Any talk out of the coaching staff in terms of getting feel for whether they would do this again if the situation warrants?

Hutch- First off I wasn't aware of this as I had no reason to tune into the NYGiants/Baltimore game.

But I can tell you that Carney was released by the Saints because of his loss of leg strength. He wasn't able to make FG's over 45 yards and his kickoofs were returnable. They made a move for Mare for this reason and it didn't work out because of accuracy issues.  Grmatica went to IR with a groin injury after missing 2 makeable FG's....

First off I agree I wouldn't want 2 roster kickers....To reasons to maybe make a move. NY Giants play in bad weather this time a year and what's to say he won't be inactivated again.

This kid Hartley has been perfect since the Saints signed him. They play indoors and except for the game in Chicago(first week of fantasy playoffs ) weather should not be a problem in the others.

To me Carney= M. Andersen in the twilight of his career very accurate on short kicks under 40, but with the change of season does he role become reduced?

yea I wouldn't mess with him right now...I like hartley, he's been pretty good so far....I'd either look at him or a guy like like suisham (who's available in alot of leagues) or possibly phil dawson...their offense looks like its clicking but seems to stall near the end zone and should create some good FG opportunities.

Thanks a ton guys.  You have convinced me to look elsewhere for a kicking solution.
