I see a lot of guys on here make a 5 unit play each night....

if your bankroll had 50 units, that's 10% of your entire roll on one play, each night......

So I got wondering, how many units is your bankroll?  This can help me know if I am WAY OFF or on the right track with the amount that I consider 1 unit....

thanks fellas to anyone who answers

I think this is spot on.  The way I learned this unit thing is that one unit should represent 1% of your bankroll.  So if my bankroll increases does does my dollar amount per unit and vise versa.  I hope this helps.  BOL!

1 unit = 2% of total bankroll

ooops,,

i start out each year with 100 units,  which signifies 100% of my bankroll..   so if im betting 9 units ,, it means im betting 9% of my bankroll and so on and so on

1 unit = 2 % of your bankroll = a bankroll of 50 units, which is just about what I am at....so I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing.  thanks fellas

You can't go wrong on if your playing between 3% - 5% of your bankroll. That way even if you get hit with bad streaks ( which happens now and then) you will always have enough units left to recover. You have to go 0 for 20 before running out of units which highly unlikely.

What difference does it make $$ wise?

That is where the "liar" argument comes in.

People constantly ask cappers how much is 1 unit.

As long as it remains consistant, it just doesn't matter if 1 unit to me is $100 and 1 unit to you is $1000.

Best of Luck to all with their units.

100 units and i bet 1 unit a game, to win 1 with faves and risking 1 with dogs most of the time

Did not factor in compound interest in the above

example. This would easily double the above ROI !!!

Every 3 years your bankroll multiplies over 200x with

the above parameters.

If you're betting 5 units a game consistently, you should have more than 50 units in your bank. I'd suggest an average play being 1-3% of your bankroll. Strong plays such as a play of the week maybe 5-10%. But playing 10% of your bank per game is too much.

thanks again everyone!

agreed puppet, I could care less how MUCH is someone's unit, I just wanted to know basically the % of one's bankroll people consider to be a unit....1%, 2%, etc
