Am I insane for liking the Rams in Week 1?

I see a TON of people on here all over seattle because of how bad the Rams will be...but what about the seahawks?  their Oline is in absolute SHAMBLES, seriously I think me and Glyde are their starting OTs for Week 1...They'll have no trufant at all in the secondary and without him their secondary just became one of the worst in the ENTIRE NFL....

Bulger can go deep to Avery and Sjax can run all over the defense when he gets to the 2nd level...

I see Seattle winning this game, but it just moved to STL +8 at betjam and I am thinking of taking the Rams and the points.  I don't think either one of these teams is good enough to beat the other team by 8 points.

Am I insane to take St Louis + the points on the road in week 1?? thoughts?

J, to be honest, I am one of the guys who like Seattle this week, but you make some good points for the Rams.  Not a bad bet by any means if you really feel them.

I just feel that this will be one of those games where the O-line deficiences will not be that important.  Number 1, the Rams D-line is equally pretty fucking bad.  Number 2, Mora and Knapp's zone running scheme were pretty good wherever they went and they didn't always have the horses on the line.  Eventually that line will bite them in the ass if they don't shore things up, but I think Week 1 at home against the Rams isn't the spot.

You're right about Trufant being out.  That hurts them pretty bad back there, even with Lucas being a nice veteran fill-ee.

Don't sleep on Seattle's offense though.  Try to forget Cincy's awful year last year and the negative effect it had on Housh's numbers.  I think he goes right back to all-pro numbers in Seattle.  A healthy Nate Burlson and Deion Branch, imo, are very very worthy number 2 and 3 guys.  Julius Jones and TJ Duckett should also both dramatically increase in production with the zone blocking scheme.

I'd hate to talk you out of a Rams bet, only to see a 27-24 game, but just giving my 2 cents.

I hear ya glyde...I think i'll play it if I can 9.5....right now at 8, there are too many other things I like and as discussed, my card is already going to be 10+ plays for week 1 lol

wow and the rams already moved to +9 this morning at betjam...

I do think I can get it at +10 and if it does move to 10, I am on it.  although maybe it'll move to 10.5? LOL

Most times I like any dog with double digit spread.  I hope SJax has a monster day  As for the pick generally speaking the double digit spreads don't cover.

Really hard game to bet on, beacuse of the fact both teams suck. Hard to believe that the Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl a couple years back. But, I might just pick the Rams too. I like the Rams Offense with Avery and Steven Jackson in the line up, the Seahawks D won't be able to contain such talent.

Short answer - No

Long answer - maybe, the Rams really needed a good coach and they may have found one.  Watching the preseason it looked like he has the defense pumped, and I think the Rams will be able to pressure the QB at times this year.  I see them winning 4-6 games this year, and game 1 could be one of them!

funny you say that da punishner, i do actually really like the over there of 41.5 and had been looking at it for awhile.  thing is, i could easily see either offense taking and scoring less than 14...in which case, i don't LOVE the over.  if bulger plays and stl line moves to +10 i'll play it, otherwise I'll pass

I agree, the line has moved too high for the seahawks. too much action on any team = bad news
