Break Your Book (CBB): Saturday, 2/28

Preface
Going into last week I was 43-23. Coming out of last week I am now 63-45. Nothing to write home about, but bad weeks are expected. I must have had 7-8 one or two point losses, but then again, a few of those I was winning the previous 10 days. Anywho, today starts a new day and a new week, putting last week's debacle behind us and moving forward. There are a slew of games today, and I'll be in and out the entire day placing picks. BOL to everyone today, lets crush the books..

Preface
Against my better judgment, I decided to bet Michigan and Northwestern yesterday. Bad mistake, and the product of being bored on a sunday evening! Oh well. I keep telling myself I can't bet 9-12-15 games a day and be profitable..but I keep coming out above 60% basically every day. So, until I have a day where I just get screw jobbed from betting so much, I'll continue to bet the games I think I can win.

Looking to keep the success going this week...

Break Your Book (CBB): Sunday, 2/22 {42-24 since posting}

Preface
Another week down and still making profit. Last week was solid as we just had 1 day @ .500 and the rest were all above profit. This is two saturdays in a row I have bet a ton of games going 11-7 yesterday. Four games above .500 including +1 in the LARGE category is nothing to complain about in one day. A couple of breaks here and there and I was close to a 13-5 day. Then again, I was probably also close to a 9-9 day as well. Thats how it goes. Of course, there is 1 game pending...Irvine is +7.5 and is up 14 at half. If Hawaii beats them by 22 in the 2nd, I don't know what I'll do..lol.

Tomorrow doesn't look great but there is some value on the board. I'm not exactly sure where I'm going to pick my spots yet but I do have a couple of leans. There is roughly 2 weeks left of CBB. We stay smart down the stretch, look for good spots to get our money in on and we will come out successful yet again. I'm looking to continue to hit 65% and that will turn a nice year in CBB.

BOL today gents!!!! Let's crush them.

Preface
Glad Yale came through as when you only play one game you have to win! LoL... Judging from the looks of things today, there seems to be quite a few solid matchups. I am currently working so I don't know how long I'll have in intervals to give the mini writeups I normally give every day. BOL to everyone today, I'll try to give info on why when I can!

Preface
Another solid day at the ball park going 5-3 ATS capped off with a late night win with San Diego. If it wasn't official before, its official now, Indiana SUCKS. They are officially off my board of teams that I'll bet, never again this year will I take those nimrods. Pathetic. Crean does a fine job just keeping that JV team IN most ball games. How do you go bucketless for 9 minutes like 3 games in a row? Blah...even more aggravated that game led me to taking a total!!! LoL...and for the 5th time in 12 days, a 90 point second half did my under in. As if I needed a reminder why I was no longer tracking and betting totals...

Anywho, moving on to the positive. Unveiled the first LARGE bet of the year and connected with Rutgers. For me to go Large everything has to be in line, and usually, the decision will not be made during the day. It'll normally be closer to game time.

As for today, slow day I'll probably only take 2-3 games..one of which will be up here shortly. Fridays are horrible, but here lately I've had a decent amount of success with the Ivy so hopefully that trend will continue. In glancing at Saturdays card it looks to be a solid one. I could really see myself taking 10-12 plays it might be that profitable. We'll see come Saturday. All in all...another night in the black and another night over 60% we seem to be getting in a groove ATS. Let's keep it going!!!!!

First play shortly after this post.

Preface
Big day yesterday going 6-1. Those don't come around very often so when they do it's always a great thing. There were some totals I was really looking at playing, and I think I would have gone .500 if I had. Still sticking to my guns, no fricking totals. Moving on to today. There is some good value out there today and some good lines. I particularly like betting Sunbelt games, but the lines in the sunbelt today are a bit tough. I haven't dug too deep yet, just getting started. First play should be up shortly with a write up as always.

BOL everyone today...lets crush them again.

Break Your Book (CBB): Wednesday, 2/18

Preface
Very disappointing day. After starting the night out 4-1 I closed 0 for 6 to end up sub .500 for my first time since posting. These days will happen, just have to bounce back and get them today. I think I have come to the conclusion that I am erasing totals off of my cards. I have tried to do this on numerous occasions but always get suckered in to what seems like a good total bet. No more. I went back and looked at my Excell file that I have, if you take totals off the list I'm hitting at 61% for the year...sickening.

From here on out I'm just playing spreads and want nothing to do with a total. So if you are in my thread and ask me what I think of one, I'll tell you don't play it! ATS my total since posting is 19-13, which is nothing spectacular but its profit. If I didn't think I could consistently be in the black I would not bet. Without totals my daily card will lose about 2-3 games which is probably for the best. I'm removing Total records from everything (including my Excel) because I do not want to chase and even think about a total! LoL...

Judging from the looks of it, today seems like a pretty strong day. Haven't really dug into much yet but it seems like there is some value on the board. I kind of like Marshall and Tulane off top my head. I'll dive into it tomorrow still a little agitated on my close last night. I'll get off tilt tonight and come back firing ATS tomorrow and over the weekend. Its going to be a solid weekend...I can feel it... [More]

Preface
Another solid day of 63% yesterday. Back to back days above 60% I'll take those all day long. We are starting to see a common trend here with the betting public getting outright bombarded in certain situations. I think there is a lot of value siding with Vegas right now
in the right circumstance. That doesn't mean I am an advocate of picking against the public everytime, but when the situation is right (Pitt today, BC yesterday, etc etc) then make the play.

Earlier in the year we saw the public plays were on fire, now I think the roles are reversing. We have to stay sharp and find good spots to get our money in. I think when you are capping smaller teams and weaker conferences there is much less "vegas" involved. Thats just a personal opinion.

Since I've started posting, I have been in the black all 3 days. Thats my goal, to end up black. Whether its by 1 game or by 10...it does not matter to me so long as I have winning days. Thats how you win, by not getting greedy and by staying the course (like I said yesterday). We'll continue to find the right spot to get our money in and we will continue to win. BOL to everyone today...may your card be live!!!!!!!!

First play / write up coming shortly..

Preface
Another profit turned in yesterday as we hit 64% on the day. If I go 55% on any day I am happy because that is profit. Sometimes we get greedy and want to always hover around 65% but lets just be honest with ourselves, that isn't realistic! Stay the course, get your money in on the right sides and do not chase.

Thats how you win...and thats what Vegas DOESN'T want you to do. You cannot beat Vegas if you aren't smart and patient. Who am I to preach though! Lets try to turn another winning day today and hit the books hard. There are some intriguing lines just from early glances. I'll my first play written up in about 10 minutes. BOL to everyone today!

Break Your Book: Sunday, 2/14

Preface
Well,  normally do not bet as many games as I did yesterday, and definitely don't play as many totals...but there were a few that stuck out to me (so I thought!!!). I really wish Stanford wouldn't have absolutely took a shit on themselves after being up 22. That game was a pretty bad moose, and then Portland not finding ANY offense last night was wack attack. But, thats the way betting goes, I can handle PORT blowing it, but had Stanford not absolutely tanked,  would have been sitting pretty at 9-4 ATS.

All in all, I'll take a winning record every day of the week. I will take a step back on totals (although I will have one today) and focus more on spreads as it seems totals lately are really hit and miss. I'll have 2-3 maybe 4 plays today...back to normal!!!

Here's to going flawless today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Break Your Book: Saturday, 2/13

Preface
Apparently, the only way you can say anything around here is to post your plays...so, I'm going to start posting. I've been reading these forums since October in 2007 and have posted my plays on 1 occasion. I was going to start in January but didn't after I made a post and wen't 0-3 (thought it was bad luck). I seriously doubt anyone even looks at my thread until I string together some wins.

I am currently hitting 56.6% (there is nothing to prove this I know..blah) in CBB for the season and the majority of my plays usually come from "smaller" schools. I do play big games and big teams do not get me wrong but I much prefer betting Ivy, Sunbelt, etc. So, without anymore further pork, here, starting from scratch, is the first edition of Break Your Book! May we all crush the books today!!!!
