Boise State and their strategic scheduling

I had to start a thread about this after hearing everyone tell me how unfair it will be to them if they go undefeated and don't get a shot at the national title.

Boise St. deserves NOTHING when they continue to schedule "strategically"

Does everyone understand that Boise St. has publicly come out and stated that they schedule "strategically."

This means that they schedule nothing but cupcakes every season with maybe one tough OOC game (Oregon).  It looks better for them this year because of the strength of Oregon but give me a fucking break.

The BCS rewards teams/programs that take on the biggest challenges throughout the season.  That is why Oklahoma got in last year over Texas, because they actually went out and scheduled TCU and Cincinnati OOC.

Boise St. plays in the shit of all shit conferences.  They know that 9-10 they will go undefeated and thus force the BCS to put them in one of the games.  This is absolute fucking bullshit.

If Boise wants a chance to play for the title do what BYU did, schedule Florida St. and Oklahoma OOC.  Don't give me this shit about having one tough team on your schedule and then have the right to play for footballs biggest championship.

Until they stop "strategically" scheduling I don't want to hear a fucking peep from this program.  Do you know how many teams in power conferences would run through their schedule undefeated?  In all honesty Purdue would be a power team in that conference.

Yet every year we seem to hear the same shit from this Boise program...and you know what...NO ONE IS LISTENING.

I don't expect Boise to schedule USC and Florida every year...what i do expect is for them to take part in 2 big OOC games.  1 against a top 10 team on the road and the other can be any top 25 team for a home and home.

Until then Boise St. alone with all their fans need to shut the fuck up...or man up and actually schedule like a title team if you want to be one.

Until you go on an anti-BSU rampage you should at least get a clue. BSU wants a home/home with any team they play. As a top FBS program the last 10 years and the win over OKL in the Fiesta they at least deserve that. NO ONE wants to play them on the Blue Turf. Let me say it again. NO ONE wants to play them in Boise. They have gotten the PAC-10 schools they compete with for players (WASH, WASH ST, ORE and ORE ST) due to the fact. They have scheduled MAC schools. Usually these schedules are done a few years in advance. So the turnover of a school say like Tulsa this year is not as glorius as the last few years. Next year they have VA Tech at Fed Ex Field. But you know what that won't be enough.

Wow for a college football writer your pretty uninformed. Boise State's AD recently reached out to 10 of the top BCS programs that had an opening in their schedule and asked for only an away game for 2011. All of them said NO. I guess it's pretty hard to schedule tough opponents when the best don't want any part of you. Ask Oregon if they wish they didn't play Boise St this year or last. Next year Boise is playing on the road at Oregon St & VT one week apart. I can't wait for your excuse when they beat those teams too.

If you know of a top 25 BCS conference team that would agree to a home/home with the Broncos, the Boise AD would like to talk to you. The fact is that the big college football programs don't have the guts to play in Boise and very few would consider a home game against them. I agree that their schedule is not up to par with their BCS competition, but if teams won't step up and play them, then their hands are pretty well tied.

Nice aeticle. After Boise State, DESTROYED Oregon, not just won, but humilitated them 2 years in a row on national T.V. I don't see teams knocking the door down to schedule them. I noticed Ohio State scheduled power houses Navy, Toledo, and New Mexico State besides USC. I think Boise's OOC schedule matches up with that. Miami of Oho beat toledo. Oregon dominated USC. Your from the same weak conference who had a team cancel on Hawaii less than 6 months befoe the game was to be played and paid them 500,000 cancelllation fee, causing Hawaii to schedule a D II team. Hope you get to another big bowl this year. Your weak A## team makes me easy money almost every year, because your living on the 70/80s teams lore. Wake up it is 2009, and your the laughing stock of the Big 10!!!!!!!!

This is the second time I've seen this posted......where is the evidence of this? Why would a second game be any different than the first? It just isn't enough for Boise to win these games...even when they beat top teams the anti-Boise folks  just call it a fluke and says if they played again Boise would lose......ridiculous logic.

Oregon has had two shots at Boise the last two seasons and could not get it done.  Oregon beats a down USC team and now they are the best ever.

Oregon's next loss cannot come soon enough, and it will come this season.

Duck fascination syndrome.

Don't blame Boise...blame the BCS.  If I'm a coach, I don't care how I get to a BCS as long as I get there.  Boise is just using the system to it's advantage, nothing wrong with that.

However, I don't agree that Boise deserves to play in a BCS game.  I think if Oregon played them today that the ducks would prevail, but that's all hindsight.

BTW if it's between TCU and Boise, I sure hope TCU gets the nod as I believe they are the superior team that has played a tougher schedule.

They will...TCU is the leader of all the "other" undefeated teams.

All your points are valid, but schedules are made years in advance and here is a program that came out of no where

They match up well with the top teams, but to get into the BCS Championship they have to go to a better conference

Boise is the perfect arguement for a PLAYOFF system. .With an 8 team playoff they could prove how good they are. The Gonzaga,s get a shot in Basketball
